The place is right next to the water - unobstructed view. The 0.7 mile walk to center of Oban was nice in good weather but we got wet several time (expected this for October). Public transportation was hard to find so needed our car. Our room was a little small and cramped, but we could see other larger rooms. Check in and parking was a bit of a hassle. Great “Continental breakfast “ that included meats, cheeses, baked goods and more- well worth the modest cost

Staff are always so pleasant when they welcome you. This is my second time staying and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Oban. The only negative is parking. While I’ve never had a problem, just be aware that spaces are limited and you may have to park across the road. There’s also the potential to get boxed in which isn’t ideal.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, responsive, good communication. The location walkable from the train station—not super-close but close enough. A very nice breakfast was served for $10 with a beautiful view of the sea. Not so good was more or less clean room —the bathtub could use a scrub, pillowcases, too. One bed was covered in plaster dust, fortunately; I needed just one bed. The bathtub was claw foot with no plug for a bath and no showers curtain thus water cleanup on the floor necessary. The tub was hard for me to get in and out of. (I also found the room decor chaotic—sequin bedcovers making it not a comfy place to sit, and more. I can imagine someone else may like it.) So not the end of the world but because I’m older I’m not sure I’d stay there again.

The accomodation was superb, clean room with a small fridge. The interior was excellent. 2 disappointing aspects: No hosts were there at the arrival. For payment we had to write our details of the credit card on a sheet of paper, including the security code!!! Uncredible!

The bed and breakfast was delightful. We had a fourth floor room with amazing views of the harbor. The place was decorated well and was very welcoming. They provided separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash unlike the other places in Scotland where we stayed. The gal that was working was so nice and helpful. Our room was quite spacious and decorated nicely. The bathroom was huge with a large shower and a large soaking tub. Bed was comfortable and roomy not just a double. It was close enough to everthing that we were able to walk to dinner, drinks and to explore the town.I would highly recommend Alltavona for a stay in Oban.

Used a reward night and booked a double king room which for the price £130 (had £95 reward), however I received a twin room. The hotel guest house was at a high standard and I slept a solid 10 hours on the single bed due to exhaustion and it was very comfortable. However if I had other plans then this would,have been very disappointing.

On arrival we were struggling with the key box and the (presumed) owner came out to help us. His demeanour was neutral at best, although he was quite friendly during the rest of the stay. When we saw the room we were really disappointed at the size and the facilities (coffee maker squeezed into a dark corner behind the coat hangers, broken showerhead). Going by the photos and because we had paid for an upgraded room, we had expected two armchairs. When we rang the bell to complain no-one appeared and when we phoned there was no answer to the two messages we left. The following day, on our return the lady of the house asked if the 'room was OK now'. Strange behaviour. The breakfast was outstanding and well worth the extra £10 each.

The rooms are all unique and so fun! Service, especially at breakfast, was amazing! We had a little communication hiccup at check-in but that had to do with my booking through expedia (i.e. I got all the messages at once and later than sent) but they were very responsive and helped us get checked-in and caught up immediately upon arrival!

We enjoyed the view from our room over looking the bay with its sailboats and ferries. Alltavona was very comfortable and our hosts were wonderful. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Alltavona’s location made it an easy walk into Oban or hiking along the waterfront. An incredible place to stay!

Fabulous guest house just a short walk from the town centre. Carol & Paul are great hosts and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was fantastic with great views. Excellent continental breakfast.

We appreciated the deep silence of this stone, multi-floor structure that faces the harbor on a main thoroughfare. We recognized its two white gables as we exited the Isle of Mull ferry at 9:00 PM. Our key was waiting for us in a lockbox for late arrivals. The morning buffet (£10/person) was remarkably tasty and generous.

The bed and breakfast was delightful. We had a fourth floor room with amazing views of the harbor. The place was decorated well and was very welcoming. They provided separate shampoo, conditioner and body wash unlike the other places in Scotland where we stayed. The gal that was working was so nice and helpful. Our room was quite spacious and decorated nicely. The bathroom was huge with a large shower and a large soaking tub. Bed was comfortable and roomy not just a double. It was close enough to everthing that we were able to walk to dinner, drinks and to explore the town.I would highly recommend Alltavona for a stay in Oban.
