The staff were friendly and I liked the style of the rooms. They seemed very clean. Unfortunately when we arrived at our room after looking around Terrigal there were hundreds of ants all over each of our beds. No matter how many we removed they kept coming back. Reception was closed by this time, 5.30pm so It made for a very stressful nights sleep. When shown photos to reception no discount offered only breakfast which we declined as we had an appointment and couldn’t wait around for, also we were concerned that ants could also be throughout the kitchen. It’s a shame as after checking in I was very happy with the staff and the look of the room when I entered. A little pest control could have prevented this review.

All that said, shower had good hot water and water pressure. Towels were good size and not worn. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean and in good shape. We have stayed at The Clan previously and although very dated it has always been clean enough and is in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, this time we were in a family room (water side) which was both dirty, moldy and ridden with cockroaches! My 8yo son and husband ended up sleeping in the car due to the high number of cockroaches in the bedroom and beds. Very off-putting and unfortunately we will never stay there again.

Room was recently renovated but still very dated and hodgepodge.. AC and tv ran off the same circuit… was very clean but that’s the price difference $200 - $400 a night at this location so you get what you pay for

A great stay with a room having a view of the lagoon in Terrigal. Good comfortable bed and amenities were great. Definitely recommend the breakfast in the cafe! Staff were very friendly

Do not stay here!! This property needs urgent attention and is not fit for purpose. We booked for five adults and two kids only to be told there were many people. So what?! It sleeps that many, and we booked, honestly. There is only cutlery and towels for six—champagne glasses for two. The air conditioner does not work. The fan in the bedroom does not work. The cold water tap in the shower does not work. The blinds are broken. The shower leaks all over the floor and is dangerous. Silicone and grates are black and mouldy. Dirty flooring, and poor cleaning. Old furniture in wardrobes. The bedding was dirty and stained. Laundry is a dumping point for broken white goods. The furniture and appliances are dated and minimal (take your cassettes). Carpets weren'tt vacuumed and stained with gum. The dust on the furniture was disgusting. We arrived after the first family and were given a second key, no questions asked. Incredibly noisy on a busy road. Needs urgent maintenance. We hated staying here, and if this is the last place available, sleep in your car.

Firstly, even checking in Time is 1-6, suddenly changed to 4pm, that day, suddenly. We were trekking, and didn’t have any reception, so when we noticed the message from the hotel, was already past 4pm. We were so upset even we could check in as a result. And we were expecting having breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, but was closed. And the slide door lock facing back yard was broken, even we booked for two night , there no spare toilet paper, and only 50 cm was left😓 TV was terrible condition to watch. We were very looking forward to staying this hotel, because of the good location. Can’t recommend to my friends.

A perfect location with great access to the beach. The only criticism I have is being woken up every morning by housekeeping. I like a sleep in on holidays and there was no Do Not Disturb sign to be found. And please do not open my door!

Thank you to the lovely team at The Clan, they were very obliging to move us to a downstairs room to accommodate my grandson with a disability. Beds were very comfy and facilities were very good. We were all set up for our late check in even down to the lights turned on for us. The cafe in the premises does an excellent breakfast. Could not be happier.

We stayed at The Cottage. It had plenty of space for our family. The lady who was at the reception when we arrived was really friendly. The location of the accommodation is great, really convenient. Easy walk to the beach. We even managed to do some leisurely fishing just across the road. It’s a great place to stay for short trips from Sydney. We went there during the long weekend. Totally recommend it.
