Frühstück war super. Alles da was man benötigt und sehr lecker und frisch. Es wurde auch immer wieder automatisch nachgelegt, wenn es notwendig war. Die Unterkunft ist zwar älter aber sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Wohn-/Schlafraum und Bad verfügen über eine individuell nach Wunsch regelbare Heizung. Sehr ruhig, sehr zentral und Kostenlose Parkplätze direkt vor der Tür bzw. auf der öffentlichen Straße, die ebenfalls kostenlos sind. Viele Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar.

We found our key on the desk at 7 PM; no one was around. If you’re older and have bags, beware that there is no elevator. Now good things: Bed was comfortable, room was clean, excellent location downtown near restaurants. Recommend you spend extra to bring your car across on the ferry. This island is a delight to explore by car.

Yeah not a great experience. No staff after we checked in and another guests key was just left on the front desk??? Strange. A cot was left in the room.(which was already small). Bathroom was recently redone but the rest of the room was very dated. No elevator for anyone that can’t handle stairs. TV had a warning up about some weird charge. Glad I was only there for a night.

Guesthouse Hamar is in a great location, only a few blocks from the ferry (leave your car on the mainland if you don’t really need to drive on Westmann Island). The room was a lot bigger than I thought. Shower was a little tight, but ok. Breakfast was included which was good as well. Walls are a bit thin, but there wasn’t anyone up late, so it didn’t bother us at night. Very happy with this 1 night stay.

The ferry to the island was cancelled due to bad weather (8 Sept 2023). We called and emailed the hotel to explain we could not arrive per our reservation -- something they certainly would know. Hamar never answered or responded. In desperation, called Expedia for help the same day. Expedia called back the next day, informed that the hotel would not work with us or Expedia, and the hotel would still charge us as a no-show. (Since there were no doubt day visitors stranded on the island, would not surprise if Hamar ended up renting our room anyway). Beware.
