Phenomenal location. Breathtaking views and 4-minute drive to Gullfoss. Spectacular northern lights viewing. Yummy breakfast. No water filling station. Surprised to find a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room! Very old school locks — just keep turning when you think you’ve turned it all the way.

Driveway to the hotel was not paved and had no lighting in the parking lot. Understandably, did not want to cause light pollution since northern lights are visible from the area. Close to Geysir and Gullfoss waterfalls. Very limited restaurants in the area. Rooms were nice and clean.

Hotel Gullfoss is a nice place to stay while travelling the Golden Circle. It is comfortable and I actually slept well, not an easy feat for me. It is very convenient to the big area attractions, Gullfoss Falls and Geysir, both within just a few miles of the front door.

The hotel operators are friendly, attentive, and helpful -- to the grand extent of having the cook use his charger cables to give our car a needed boost for a drained battery. The hotel restaurant is also excellent, as was the included breakfast. We highly recommend.

The staff was really nice. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfasr buffet was really good. I really liked the service they offer, if you would like to see the northern lights, the staff will go knock on your door to let you know so you go outiside. That is a plus I did not get on any other hotel I stayed during my trip in Iceland.

Lovely hotel - doesn't look that impressive from the approach road, but lovely inside - the dining room is particularly nice with large windows looking over the valley. Excellent location as very close to Gullfoss - around 5 minutes drive. Staff were lovely at reception and in the restaurant. Food - both dinner and breakfast - were very good, with a good selection at breakfast. Room was nice - twin beds as requested, clean and warm and with a nice view over the valley. I stupidly left my Kindle behind and have since been liaising with the hotel who are going to mail it back to me - very kind! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Beautiful location, road getting in is a little sharp but best location of all the hotels we stayed at. The staff is amazing and wonderful. The food for dinner was excellent. Close to Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall and meeting points for glacier activities like snowmobiling. Also close by is the tomato farm for lunch.

This is one of my favorite stops on our journey. The view of the aurora in the night sky was spectacular. The restaurant food was so fresh and being gluten and dairy free I was in heaven with the fact that they accommodated my dietary needs .

There was careful attention and accommodation for our two gluten free family members within the restaurant. The gf rolls were outstanding! A nice enough place near the Gullfoss water falls. Like everything in Iceland, on the expensive side.Breakfast is included though. We had dinner at their restaurant as well , which was quite good. I would recommend the lamb.
