They have a lot activities for the guests, the room was pretty comfy and clean, it had a nice view to the ocean and everyone was super friendly and informative. There was no parking on site but the front desk gave us instructions to find free parking, it was around 10 to 15 minutes walking but we didn’t mind. Nice location close to stores and restaurants. A little tricky to find but apart from that all good.

The property is a little outdated. The smell of it was definitely old ocean sea water as you enter. The kitchen and common area is also outdated but for the overall price it was well worth it. We had gotten the comfort room and it was on the opposite side of where all the pubs are so it was quiet and we slept through the night. The view of our room was awesome. It is convenient as it close to the pier and many of the dining options. Parking wasn’t so bad because surrounding areas had 24 hour parking meters. Honestly the walk was pretty good considering how close everything is to the hotel. They do provide ear plugs for those that I’m guessing are on the side of where the pubs are. Definitely will stay here again in the future! Breakfast options were bread, butter, eggs. You have the option to make what you can with the ingredients that they have or you can buy your own and keep it in a shared fridge in the kitchen if you are booking shared bunks. Our comfort room had its own little fridge that we could put our things in. They did provide body wash and hand soap in our private bathroom which was convenient. I believe they also provide hair dryers but you have to ask the receptionist for it. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure worked well. The way our bathroom was it was a little tight between the toilet and sink but hey everything worked just fine. Thank you for having us! We had a great time!

Welcoming staff. Had bread and eggs provides each morning to prepare breakfast. Access is with code, so no need to be bothered about forgetting the key. I had a private room, pretty spacious with great view to the beach and sunset. Just seconds yo walk from beach and some various restaurants. Big grocery shop vons also not far, about 10 min walk. Connection with Downtown is wishing to be better , in general public transport if LA is pretty bad

I have a impartial review since I didn’t actually get to stay there, so don’t know know what the inside even looks like. I drove there, tried to park, but could not. The free parking on the street is very far way away, I had bags, and it was raining, so that wasn’t an option. I would have paid to park in the lot right by the place, but it said no parking from 5-6 am and didn’t want to get towed. So I ended having to pay much more for a hotel, not to mention I had already paid for the hostel. So money lost there. On a normal night, this may not have been a problem, but Hermosa was having some sort of street fair with lots of streets blocked off and tons of people. So not the hostels fault in the least. I may try it again. It looks like a nice place.

I found it quite hard to find the hostel, but once I did I was pleasantly surprised and the room was small and there was no TV in the room, the toilet and shower room was outside in the hallway. Also the kitchen was fully equipped and there was a good sized dining room. The hostel was right by Hermosa Beach Pier and there were plenty of bars and restaurants around the area. I would highly recommend it if you want to save money !

What a great find. Awesome staff, friendly guests, great breakfast- yes, it is on the pier in hermosa and there is a lively nightlife. They give you earplugs, if you want them. I loved this Place.

The private room had a lovely location in the building, on the top corner, and was surprisingly quiet! Loads of local spots for nightlife right out the door. Parking is $50 a day at any of the lots nearby. So parking a car, and not having to move/check on it, is almost impossible. Even when paying the higher rate - you still have to check the meter in the lot twice a day. Bathroom was not tidy, and old bathmat/rug in the bathroom was a hair magnet and didn't appear to have been changed in eons. The staff was absolutely awesome. Kind, informative, and welcoming. Will definitely stay again, simply due to the staff!

2nd floor does get loud because of the bars around. But the hostel has free ear plugs. Hermosa Beach is so close which is awesome. Hostel has events every night if people wanted to participate which is nice.

They forget to tell you in their description that there’s no parking around and you have to pay every 3 hours in private parking a because the limit of parking time is 3 hours all around the area, plus don’t even want to talk about the shape of the whole building is more like a shelter but they charge you to stay.

Nicole was very helpful and nice she made the stay pretty good. ITH is good for travelers on a budget. The place is fairly decent. Would be awesome if the kitchen and dining are are cleaner and doesn't smell bad. I survived so far with the days I was there, I booked the place to mostly sleep and eat breakfast..the view was awesome though being near the beach makes up for it

I reserved the private room shared shower/toilet. The people were very nice. However The bed was held up with duct tape and fell apart as soon as i went to lay down. I toss and turn in my sleep so that wasnt going to work for me even after i tried to re-prop the bed up-this method was only good for visual effect. New bed frames are needed at least for room 203 on this property. Amazon has heavy duty box spring frames for cheap if i may suggest.

I loved breakfasts, kind people and quietness of the place (except early morning machinery out there in the beach, but I’m an early bird). What I wished to have is a larger basin and a hygienic shower, as well as cleaning options in my room / laundry options in the hostel. Thanks for a nice stay!

I've never stayed in a hostel before and I don't think I will again. I know some hostels are nice,especilly the newer ones like the one in Santa Barbara where I visited a friend who was staying there. However, this in old building and the furiture junky. I had my own room not a dorm room and I thought I had a private bath, because the the desciption kind of deceoptively made it seem like it did by not making it clear. Just saying that they didn't provide toothpaste or a toothbrush {as if anyone expects that in the first place!} I'm not into sharing a bathrom with anyone on the same floor. Yes, I could partially see the ocean (and the old/rusted roof equipment on the roof next to it.) I have to say the location was great and the staff was friendly, If you are on a surfing trip with the guys or gals and you need a cheap dorm stay it might be okay.

The property is a little outdated. The smell of it was definitely old ocean sea water as you enter. The kitchen and common area is also outdated but for the overall price it was well worth it. We had gotten the comfort room and it was on the opposite side of where all the pubs are so it was quiet and we slept through the night. The view of our room was awesome. It is convenient as it close to the pier and many of the dining options. Parking wasn’t so bad because surrounding areas had 24 hour parking meters. Honestly the walk was pretty good considering how close everything is to the hotel. They do provide ear plugs for those that I’m guessing are on the side of where the pubs are. Definitely will stay here again in the future! Breakfast options were bread, butter, eggs. This place was incredible. It’s our first time staying at a hostel but we had our own room. Being able to stay on the beach was such a cool experience and walking down from your room to hear local talents singing or over to Hennessey to enjoy incredible food. It was a great experience!

I found it quite hard to find the hostel, but once I did I was pleasantly surprised and the room was small and there was no TV in the room, the toilet and shower room was outside in the hallway. Also the kitchen was fully equipped and there was a good sized dining room. The hostel was right by Hermosa Beach Pier and there were plenty of bars and restaurants around the area. I would highly recommend it if you want to save money !

The private room had a lovely location in the building, on the top corner, and was surprisingly quiet! Loads of local spots for nightlife right out the door. Parking is $50 a day at any of the lots nearby. So parking a car, and not having to move/check on it, is almost impossible. Even when paying the higher rate - you still have to check the meter in the lot twice a day. Bathroom was not tidy, and old bathmat/rug in the bathroom was a hair magnet and didn't appear to have been changed in eons. The staff was absolutely awesome. Kind, informative, and welcoming. Will definitely stay again, simply due to the staff!

Great place to live, literally next to Lighthouse from Lalaland and so cheap! And also you can literally walk to ocean 2-3 munutes. It was great stay with great breakfast. Staff was so friendly and helping. Even after checkout they permit to stay in hostel to shower or wait for flight and etc. It was great, bc i was just in sand from swimming and outdoor showers were closed. Definitely recommending it to anyone. Wish could stay more.

It was amazing the guys from the office were so nice and helpful and fun it made every minute of the day a joy, the location in amazing there is fun litterally on the street and the beach just a minute walk away, could not ask for better.

Cute cute place if you’re trying to stay by the beach however if you plan on viewing all of LA county, consider renting a car. Transit is great but takes a while from Hermosa Beach to anywhere else in the city. Nonetheless, loved this.

Stayed for a few day’s. Would definitely recommend. Speaking from experience, overall staffing was great and very welcoming. Good nightlife location, approximately five minute walk to the Beach, clubs, and great food spot options to choose from. Transportation is very convenient.

First time using a hostel, reminded me of being in a military barracks. No frills but it was nice being right on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and gift shops. I was a bit confused by the address of the hostel. The uber driver took us to the address, or rather the block where it should have been, but it is actually on the next street north which doesn't have car access. I would stay there again.

I loved breakfasts, kind people and quietness of the place (except early morning machinery out there in the beach, but I’m an early bird). What I wished to have is a larger basin and a hygienic shower, as well as cleaning options in my room / laundry options in the hostel. Thanks for a nice stay!

Welcoming staff. Had bread and eggs provides each morning to prepare breakfast. Access is with code, so no need to be bothered about forgetting the key. I had a private room, pretty spacious with great view to the beach and sunset. Just seconds yo walk from beach and some various restaurants. Big grocery shop vons also not far, about 10 min walk. Connection with Downtown is wishing to be better , in general public transport if LA is pretty bad

As always, staff members are welcome to help. Room, kitchen and bathroom are very clean. Breakfast is really nice. Beach front location can’t be better . I will stay here again. Make sure to bring own towels and fill up your water bottle before you go to bed since kitchen closes during night time.

Ett fantastiskt alternativ för dig som liksom jag gillar att resa och bo billigt. Visserligen delar man rum men det är många gånger riktigt trevligt. Personalen är trevliga och hjälpsamma och fastän det står att det ingår frukost så rekommenderar jag att du köper din egen frukostmat. Ingen luftkonditionering men har haft fönstret öppet hela vistelsen. Fördel att bo 1 minut från stranden och dess uteliv men läget kan också vara lite högljutt. Väl värt varje krona!

Great place . Right next to the beach . I witnessed the staff constantly clean around the clock they were all so kind and lovely would stay here again . For the most part the people I met were kind , an elderly couple that was so nice to me , guy from wales who was backpacking down the west coast and a musician. Magical stay I would recommend.
