Service was top notch. The room could use an update, but overall very comfortable. The only issue we had was with the amount of children everywhere. We couldn't enjoy the pool for their screams.

Great room, felt private. Lovely electric fireplace only negative is decaf coffee was not offered in room or at breakfast-- being pregnant and loving coffee, that was unfortunate. Breakfast could have benefitted from yogurt/granola option. Also more outdoor lighting in parking lots would be helpful. Had to hold hubby's hand a lot at night over the uneven/slopey spots due to not being able to see. Gym was definitely lacking. Needed some TLC. Looked like it hadn't been serviced in some time.

Bathroom ceiling was water stained. Sheet of paper taped to door - “bear sightings do not leave trash”! No light in hallway next to room.

This was an amazing experience. This visit was with three 15 years old. They loved it. We took walks and enjoyed the hot tubs. We saw a group horseback riding and a couple carriage rides. The grounds were beautiful. The flowers were stunning. It was a very peaceful experiences. Lots of space and privacy. The staff was absolutely wonderful. We will be coming back.

Great cabins with hot tub, really good riding stable on the grounds, good breakfast and the most impressive thing for me was the quality of the meals for dinner. The menu and quality was top notch.

Nothing what we expected based on the pictures and reviews. Rooms were musty smelling and dusty. Asphalt walkway to cabin was cracked uneven - unsafe to navigate at night No to extremely limited cell or WIFI service. Front desk staff friendly and accomodating to the best he could. Would be fine for a retreat, scout camp or hiking.

It was a cute place, I would just suggest adding lighting in parking areas. I got there after dark and had a very hard time navigating the resort to find my room and also, after finding it, I was tripping over rocks trying to navigate to the entry

Staff is very helpfull, we rented a Tesla and even if they don’t have a charger there, hey helped us to charge it. The food is homemade and the pizza is huge! The place, specially at night,is like glamping, with the firewood and the stars. I loved it!

Loved our stay. Forrest Hills Mountain Resort is in the middle of no where but had so much to offer including nice places to walk which is the most important thing for me. Also available is horseback riding, volleyball, and a pool.

The place smelled of mold, it was not cleaned. Bugs and spider webs everywhere. Stains on the the bed cover, and sheets. The trundle bed had stains. There was supposed to be clean linens for the extra bed in the closets, there was none and there was no one to call to get anything. The curtains were bearly hanging on the walls. The shower was so disgusting that I could not take a shower, the toilet would rock when you sat on it. The room looks like it has not been renovated for a good 10 years. We slept in our clothes and ran in the morning.

Nice place, beautiful views. They Need more attention to the room clean.

Not the cleanest and septic issues

found a cockroach in the sink...cobwebs on celing fan . heater fan only had one setting which was full blast, the coffee was horrible...bathroom sink and faucet had lime scale .was not worth the money I paid

We had to stay at wilderness lodge in the resort.all things were good except cleanliness.there are so many spider webs around the wall.

It was not clean especially bathroom. The twin bed sitting on the wood panel and was not secure. My husband hit his leg on the corner and got hurt. The bathroom was dirty like it hasn't been cleaned for weeks. I am sorry to say I saw hairs on the towel and sink. White scums😣 which I didn't like to see. The staff was there was kind and the breakfast was good.

The pictures on the website didn't really match our room. The outside of the buildings are a cabin- country vibe but the inside of our room was a modern hotel look. I did find something on the shower wall that looked pretty disgusting; looks like it came from someone's nose or throat. It washed off with the handheld shower head and I showed the photo I took to the lobby person when we checked out.

I loved how quiet and peaceful it was out there. The amenities were just fine, strong Wi-Fi, room was clean, and climate control worked very well. Next time I will stay longer and upgrade my room to the hot tub one.

Our stay, itself, was delightful; however, the paint in our room could use some attention. There was chipping and scarring of the paint in the kitchen area. Most serious is the impression given by the photo of the room advertised on Hotels.com. The impression is that the room in the picture is the room that is being booked. The photo shows the couple's cabin. What we actually booked was a room in the lodge which has 3 others rooms. The room was nice, but not as nice and secluded as the photo suggests. Kind of deceptive. Kind of "bait and switch".

Overall this property has much to offer: a lovely wooded setting at he edge of a forest, a friendly staff and good dining options including a hearty breakfast buffet and reasonably priced dinner items. There is a large general dining area but also a smaller intimate room--The Secret Garden-- reserved for couples or single adults. Parking and WiFi are free. But Forrest Resort has its shortcomings. Even when spacious as was mine, rooms have but one chair. The mattresses in my room were squeaky while sitting on them to watch TV--remember,1chair. And they were far too soft and spongy, not at all agreeable with my lower back. Some rooms are small and have child-height toilets, a nightmare for seniors. Rooms that do have higher ones are likely to have step over tub/showers with no safety grab bars. Facilities with a limited number of handicap accessible showers should at least have grab bars in bathrooms with tubs. And while tourist on the go might appreciate rooms with jetted tubs do they really use bathtubs? Perhaps most vexing was that there was no common inside area in which to lounge or escape inclement weather. If rain, heat or cold drive you inside, there is only your 1-chair room. More expensive cabins may have more seating? There is an outside fire pit for when weather permits. It is buy your-own-wood. Tree roots have caused some sidewalks to bulge making reaching rooms at night difficult along poorly lighted paths. Nonetheless, this a nice resort worth a visit.

The stay was nice, but the internet was virtually non-existant, the TV had no local channels even though there was a Direct TV box that didn't work.

The cabin, no 19, was clean and very roomy, very private. The mattress felt old and although I like a soft mattress, this was way too soft. All the cabinets all had a musty odor and need to be updated as well as the kitchen area. Breakfast was simple and adequate. Biscuits were good!

A very beautiful piece of property decently laid out. Every moring was peaceful with a nice sunrise as the birds sang. The only thing slightly negative is the rooms are a bit outdated. Tv super small with wires everywhere, the ceiling fans are so old the blades are warpped, and the rooms could use a microwave. Bit otherwise a very pleasent place to be

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable with a nice porch that had a swing. The bath was very spacious and there was a small kitchenette available. I'm sure in the fall this place is beautiful!

Quiet. Beautiful landscaping (lots of flowers). Excellent food: from Quinoa to Meatloaf, Pizza to Lobster, better than anywhere else (well, my Mom did make better meatloaf but I never got the recipe). On the slightly uncomfortable side: the mattresses seemed overdue for replacement, and there was no reading light either at the desk nor at the comfy chair.

We were dissappointed in this property. The rooms were outdated. Carpet was worn and sticky. The A/C unit was hanging partly off the window. The grounds were very unkempt. The landscaping looked pitiful. The beds were thin and rickety. Every time you move on the bed, it would squeak. There was no microwave. The pillows were all feather ( we are allergic). When I mentioned it to the front office, she asked if I had made a request for non-feather pillows. I travel monthly and rarely have had all feather. The room was musty and smelled of strong room freshener.We did really enjoy the breakfast. The chef and staff were so kind. The food was delicious. We will not be back to this property and will not recommend it.

Everything is perfect. I only wish they make a bathrooms renovations cuz they are a bit old.

Staff was wonderful, especially Shay! Informative, friendly, and made us feel like family. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, only suggestion is to update the spring mattress. Breakfast was good but repetitive, maybe change up the choices. Horseback riding on site was amazing and our guide Grace was fantastic! Only complaint was Thanksgiving dinner, it was overpriced and food was terrible and cold. Overall we will definitely be back!

The front staff was more than friendly. Even though there was a little bump with my room they call me right away to apologize and make it better. I had never had a bad experience there and will come back again and again. I really appreciate the while staff there for all their hard work, for looking into the error and correcting it. 🙏

This place is wonderful! It is a little out of the way from local towns, but we were not looking to be in the crowds. The staff were very friendly and helpful, made us feel like family. We were blown away with the dinner at the restaurant, the chefs blew us away, definitely not what we expected at a quiet, older resort. Don't miss it. We loved our quiet cabin in the woods, deer and birds abound, loved our hot tub. We wished the weather had been a little better so that we could have gone horse back riding. The horses appeared well cared for and the equestrian facilities are definitely not an afterthought addition to the resort.

The ladies behind the desk were super friendly and helpful with places to go around the area! Absolutely loved the customer service!

Upon discovering Forrest Hills Resort years ago, it became the only place to stay when visiting the area annually. In fact, we’ve planned our trips based on available dates at the resort. We simply won’t stay anywhere else. From the moment of check-in to the goodbye of check-out you are reminded that you, your comfort, enjoyment & needs are of utmost importance. The staff truly understands the meaning of hospitality. We have stayed in several lodges on premises and have always found our room spotlessly clean, quiet, stocked with ample supplies, extremely comfortable beds, pillows & linens, Direct-TV service with premium channels for entertainment when day is done, fridge for snacks & drinks, A/C & heat that works quietly & flawlessly and a 24/7 maintenance staff available just in case you need them…WOW!-that’s service! The included Breakfast is outstanding. A buffet of freshly cooked eggs, grits, bacon, vegan sausage, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, fruit, hot/cold cereal, juices, coffee/tea and so much more - served in their restaurant that is also open for dinner with an outstanding menu. There are beautiful trails for walking, horseback riding. A perfect homebase from which you can explore the areas wineries, historic towns, museums, nature. There’s on-site gift shop, very knowledgeable & friendly staff to provide you w information & mostly anything you might need to make your stay pleasantly memorable. Once you stay here-you will always come back!

Stayed here for graduation, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. A short (maybe 20 min) drive to the UNG Dahlonega Campus. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Room was clean, and the cabins are cozy. Would love to have stayed longer to explore everything they have to offer (plenty of things to do!), and plan on coming back! Thank you to all the staff, it was a wonderful stay!

Great staff. The breakfast service was lovely! We hiked the property -the hills made it a great workout! Maintenance is prompt to deal with issues. The room was very clean. Could use a couple minor updates but nothing major. The pillows and beds were comfortable. It was a 20 minute drive to downtown Dahlonega. I loved being more out in the wilderness rather than in town.

The area this property was in was beautiful. They had horseback riding. It was very nice, but the property is definitely dated. It needs a facelift.

Very secluded. Quiet. And close to Amicalola Falls.

The property is secluded, but not too far from town. The grounds are beautiful with the flower gardens and scenery. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and just what we were looking for my birthday weekend getaway. We will be back!

Quiet and relaxing with a great view only a short drive from several things to do

This is NOT a luxury resort as advertised. It is more like a motel six with separate buildings. The rooms are fine If you just need a place to stay but do NOT expect it to be a place to do things or that it's cozy. The buildings are very old and they have replaced some sinks and possibly the generic carpet, parts of the siding and stairs . What you should expect is a crappy stay away camp you went to as a kid. The breakfast was worse than the rooms The first cup and then the second, third, forth and so on were absolutely gross with crusted food and coffee still in them. The food was completely cold and inedible. I booked this as a 2 night mother daughter trip thinking it would be a nice getaway. As soon as we pulled into the property I was worried. I ended up leaving early , was told they would refund me for the second night and got an email saying they won't. The people in the office were talking about how they updated it so much. I cannot imagine what it was before. I sound snotty and entitled but this was FALSELY advertised. I spoke with another guest and they were just as disappointed and glad they had only stayed for one night.

Beautiful grounds. Beautiful rooms, very clean. And the breakfast was best I've had from a resort or hotel.

The place is a good getaway. The cleaning needs to improve. The breakfast was poor. The first day they were controlling the food and not allowing people to serve themselves and the next day they had so much leftovers that they allowed people to serve themselves. The first night we arrived the tub wasn’t working but the next day I asked them to fix and they fixed right away. I would recommend this place for a couple. It’s a bit overpriced for what it offers.

The property is nestled in a beautiful area of Georgia. The people are extraordinarily nice. The restaurant if that’s what you wanna call it it’s something you really need to avoid. The rooms are large and accommodating although a bit dated that adds to the ambience. There’s no maid service. At all costs avoid the massage. The two women they are very lovely, but that’s where it stops.

We arrive and the ladies providing services were awsome. In the restaurant on property, was too pricey for the quality of the food. My chicken was bloody and my Husband meatloaf was not seasoned and each plate over $20.00. We also saw a cockroach when told to the server she killed it and never threw it away. In my room my bed super uncomfortable I wasn’t able to sleep because of of my back pain.

We love staying here. It's pretty quiet, and it's away from town. The breakfast is awesome. Definitely recommend.
