Cambria Hotel White Plains - Downtown

Keeping in mind its 3-star classification, this hotel does not disappoint. Front desk staff is outstanding. Metro-North station is in easy walking distance. Of special note: In partnership with the Chazz Palminteri restaurant next door, guests can order a meal, get it delivered and charged to the room. Very nice option when traveling all day. On a lesser note, the slamming doors made a lot of disruption. Soft close, as in other hotels, would improve the guest experience and be worth the investment.

No problem with the room or lobby--all recently renovated and nicely done. Conveniently located. Clean. That' s where the good ends. Its run like a Quality Inn. The person who checked us in was indifferent to the point of being rude. We chose the hotel for a New Years getaway in large part because it had an indoor pool--which was closed indefinitely. No apology from young lady at front desk. She seemed like she was doing us a favor to even check us in. Asked her where a certain well known restaurant was--she had no idea--it was 2 blocks away. Didn't offer to look it up. Couldn't be bothered. She is the first person you see at the hotel and sets the tone. Ought to be working at Motel Six on the midnight shift. Breakfast on New Year's Day was from 6 am to 9:30. We missed it. When I asked whether they ever gave thought to altering their usual hours on the morning after the biggest party night of the year--blank stares. Made breakfast at 9:15 the next day and at 9:31 sharp, they started closing down the buffet. Apparently, you have to be FINISHED with breakfast by 9:29. They were even taking away the coffee until I objected. Breakfast was cold anyway. Not worth $19.95. To be fair, after my complaints on the first day, they did comp us for the $30/day parking fees in response to our complaints. Plus gave us free breakfasts which , as stated, expire at 9:30 sharp. This is a hotel that presents itself as upscale but is just a Quality Inn.

Very comfortable beds! Slept so well. Quiet rooms. Hey are set up like open floor plan suites. So it feels spacious. The desk area is great for work. Bathroom was updated. Good location near restaurants. They have their own parking for $30/night and buffet breakfast for $20, but there are a lot of public parking lots and many delis in the neighborhood, as well as ShopRite supermarket. $255/ room seemed a bit much, when comparable rooms are $187 on the app. The pool is very small for kids. Gym is ok for a quick workout.

Not enough contemporary charging ports and they should consider a Starbucks in the Lobby. Gym machines were also a bit shabby.

The stay itself was good but the hotel’s weakness is the car valet service. We almost missed our flight on Sunday morning because the valet was missing.

Loved the hotel. The only thing that it misses is a 24h room service. The hotel uses a 3rd party restaurant to provide food for guests. But the restaurant closes around 8pm and opens after breakfast.

I just popped in for an overnight after a business meeting. I was glad they had a market cafe so I could grab a late night snack.

Rooms were nice, but everything else was subpar. Restaurant and bar closed and most disappointing our car was significantly damaged by valet service.

I thought the woman checking us in was miserable. She wasn’t outright rude but it was clear she was not happy to be there. Also, there was a good amount of black mold on the wallpaper in the bathroom of 702. All in all, just an ok stay.

Enjoyed my stay at Cambria. It was in walking distance to a lot of places and transportation. The staff was super friendly and the hotel was very clean.

The sheets on the bed were dirty. We ended up having to change rooms at midnight after a long drive. Staff apologized but would never stay there again. Horrible experience.

I opted to rate this stay at 4 stars in an effort to properly way, the pros and cons of my entire stay. The location and parking were very convenient and our valet attendant was super friendly and helpful. We were able to unload very easily and head up to the lobby to check in. Our front desk attendant was friendly and greeted us, and also explained about the choice rewards program. We were given our keys and headed up to our room. Overall, the room was fine but I did make note of a very large burn in the carpet near the bed by the window and some water damage in the ceiling near the living room nook with what appear to be mold spots on the ceiling. I was sure to take pictures and I shared them with our front desk attendant, and he simply said he would tell maintenance to have them look at it. The bed was comfortable, and the room was missing a few items like the appropriate number of hand towels or bath sheets in the bathroom. Our shower did not drain properly and the surface of the tub was extremely slippery and my wife ended up falling and hurt her surgically repaired shoulder. I reported the concern to another guest attendant, and their attitude was comically apathetic, no apology or offering to fill out an incident report or to check on her well-being. For the amount of money I paid for the stay I would have expected the level of professionalism and service to have been better.

Room Thermostat was not functioning properly but your Maintenance Staff replaced it very efficiently. Impressive!

First room had no heat. Called the front desk. They sent up a maintenance person who couldn’t repair it so we were moved to a new room. They gave us free certificates for the buffet breakfast. The WiFi was slow but otherwise the room was clean and the staff was very friendly.

Great area with shopping and dining options. Rooms need some upgrades such as carpet, lamp shades and curtains. Excellent service.

I was so genuinely pleased by this hotel. The entire aesthetic is very, very rich. The staff are absolutely fantastic (from valet to the front desk.) I was shocked at how spacious my room was. It included a perfect office area, a huge marble shower, and everything seemed brand new and most definitely immaculate. Great parking situation, great location. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Very nice hotels but the tv and phone didn’t work . But other than that it was a get stay

We are staying at Cambria about 2 x a year and enjoy it because of the convenience of having everything close. Stayed 4 nights this time. Shopping Center 2 minutes walk. Many great restaurants 1 to 5 minutes walk. Train station to Manhattan 10 minutes and a beautiful park 3 minutes ( picture ) Cambria has a nice ambiance and it’s quiet. The only complain was the mattress. It felt like I was laying on an air mattress that‘s loosing the air. It had a very soft and lumpy cushion on top and sunk in when lying on it. It messed up my back and I had to buy a cane to walk with after the first night. The room could need an update as well. The sofa and chair were very dingy and lots of spots. The hotel has no maid service, but you can call for new towels and new trash bags or whatever else you need. For almost 400,-$ the night I would hope for a better room condition. All together the stay was good.

Rooms and lobby were truly elegant, spacious and attractive. I didn't like that the only way up to the second floor lobby was one small slow elevator. Other guests complained about it too. So going to your room from the street or parking garage required two elevator rides.

Area is walkable. Don’t choose the room with pull out couch thinking someone will sleep on it (we did for our toddler) as highly uncomfortable and unsafe with metal. Shower also outdated with curtains

For so much money expected a better experience. Key didnt work, staff was pretty unhelpful in helping. Blamed me. I called and asked about parking they said they had onsite parking for guests. A cost should have been mentioned. Just very basic hotel. More like motel

The hotel clean staff didn’t respect customer’s request. We put privacy tag on the door knob but they still come in to the room. We are very upset. We won’t stay in this hotel in future. Please train your cleaning service staff team to make sure that they respect their customers.

Cambria Hotel was in a good location. Restaurants and shopping right outside the door. The hotel was beautiful, clean and safe. Definitely would stay again.

It’s our 4 th time coming to Cambria on Main Street and we are very pleased every time. Great service, pleasant and nice. Shopping and commute to Manhatten a few steps away.

Although this was a nice hotel, my wife and I found the $ experience annoying. Expect to pay $25 up front for parking and $20 per person for a standard hotel breakfast that is typically gratis. Lots of hidden charges.

We recently had a two night stay at the Cambria in White Plains, New York. I thought the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lobby was stunning, but the rooms were nothing out of the ordinary. we were a little surprised that Breakfast was not included ($19.95 for a breakfast buffet?) also would’ve been a little little more convenient if the bar opened before 5 PM on a weekend.

Front desk was very friendly. They also validated our parking which was nice. Disappointed that the bar has been permanently closed. Such a nice bar with a nice view.

We special ordered breakfast bagel sandwiches both mornings which were fantastic and very reasonably priced.

F&B very limited but a convenient option in WP if you dont want to pay an arm and a leg at the Opus
