I love Aloft properties. This one is right downtown so we were able to walk right across the street to the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center for a show, then after the show, walk down the main drag, Orange Ave, to check out the Corona Cigar Company, then over a street to go to the speakeasy Mathers Social Gathering to get a nightcap and listen to some great violin and jazz entertainment. Great night overall and we could walk to all of it. The room was a corner room with a lot of windows so it was very bright, but good blackout shades, and it was huge. The only complaints: the barn door to the bathroom was extremely hard to open and close, there weren't many places to hang wet towels, and there was no microwave that we could find anywhere. But, the hotel is funky, artsy, nice bar area, good gym, pool area, and... best of all.... they do adoptions, so they have a dog in a glassed in area in the lobby, well cared for, looking cute, up for adoption, and I'm told they are adopted almost immediately and the people who adopt are well vetted. Great way to do this!
