Baymont by Wyndham Rapid City

Have been staying here off and on for about 6 years. Still can’t reliably use room key to access exterior doors. Swipe swipe swipe to no avail. Have mentioned to front desk but nothing changes. It wouldn’t be the good old Baymont if the doors worked!

Pool and hot tub were very dirty and didn't work

Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the entire hotel evacuated - false alarm. THe place needs attention. The walls are stained and dirty, carpet has holes, furniture is decades past need of replacement, breakfast is fake eggs and cold coffee. I won't being staying here again - the extra $50 is worth spending.

The Hot tub wasn't working 😠

The pool was cold, the hot tub didn’t work. Someone pulled the fire alarm at 3:30 am. There was a front desk staff member named Quentin that helped me clear up a booking mistake which was awesome.

Was really looking forward to staying here this weekend. Spent 10 minutes in the lobby waiting for a receptionist to show up. Was awakened by house keeping knocking on my doors hours before check out. Went to jump in the hot tub and it was ice cold. Figured id get a short cardio work in before showering and checking out, but the eliptical machine was in poor condition. If i could do this stay over i would have stayed somewhere else. What a bummer. Probably wouldnt have this same experience if i were ever to stay here again, but i will most likely be staying elsewhere in the future.

Pool could have been heated. It was freezing. The staff was excellent.

The accommodations were so-so. Not terrible, but certainly not the best nights rest I’ve had. The sheets are extremely itchy and uncomfortable and the bed equally uncomfortable. The elevator was not working and we had someone with us who recently had surgery and has limited mobility. We were on the 4th floor, so that presented a challenge. I’d stay away from the breakfast, as I don’t think there was any “real” food available.

Our room smelled terribly. While I understand the need for pet rooms, I don’t think they should smell! The carpets were stained and nasty. The service / staff was excellent! I would like to see the community trash cans around the hotel be emptied more often as they were full and overflowing.

the shower in my room 427 was so dirty it looked like they had bathed pigs in the shower. this is the rapid city south dakota baymount !!! if you would like pictures I have some on my Iphone and would be happy to send them.

I stay here every time my kids fly out! The rooms are always clean, breakfast is great. Staff are friendly and the price is always right.

Our room was gross. The window sill and the glass was sticky. Found a moldy strawberry under the bed. Along with kids toys. Old yogurt that was left in the mini fridge that must of been left behind from the last group. The microwave and the stand was sticky. The plate inside looked blue. Over all. Never again. And when I spoke to the front desk person…..he didn’t looked surprised at all when I complained.

The bathroom was dirty with hair stuck to the wall.

The bathroom wasn't very clean! Dirt on the walls and door; and, mildew/mold buildup the corners where the shower meets the floor. This was off-putting and disappointing as we have always been happy with our stays here. The carpeting needs a good cleaning, as well

3 day stay nobody ever checked the room. I had to go to the pool to get towels. I WOULD stay again. Good breakfast. The guy the works the breakfast is one of the hardest workers i have even seen. If you lose hin it would take 2 to replace him.

We had a king bed with a pull out couch. The room was very spacious and clean. The hot tub was not ‘hot’ and seemed like it could have used more water. The staff was very nice and helpful. Easy check in and out.

The room we had this time was absolutely excellent. I hope that they give us this room again or I can figure out how to book it had a couch, coffee table king size bed, and TV. The only thing we had a problem with was enough plugs to plug in all our electronics.

Book a room on the top floor unless you want to be in the middle of a drum. Terrible soundproofing between floors.

I always stay at this hotel when I am in Rapid City. I love the beds. The only thing I would want to make my experience better is the pillows are small and not enough.

Clean large room comfortable bed. Fast internet. TV had no guide so you had to keep changing channels to see what was on. The problem with the room we had was the heating cooling system did not work. The heat kept coming on even though the system was shut off. Maintenance was already off shift. Front desk was very accommodating in that they gave us another room just to sleep in so we didn't have to move everything. Hot tub jets did not work. They were able to get them to work. Hot tub needed cleaning. Breakfast was fine with both hot and cold choices. Room did not have coffee maker but you could go down to the foyer and have fresh coffee there.

My one suggestion-the tv has a channel guide in the room. But the system that you are using for the tv channels has no channel guide for what's on the tv. This is the only place that I have ever stayed at that the cable didn't have a guide.

Staff was very friendly and helpful

Booked through Expedia. Confirmed with phone call directly with hotel at 4:30 p.m. explaining late arrival and inquiring about location of my room. Even told room was on 4th floor. Arrived at 9:45 p.m. and told THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR ME!!! Waited for over an hour as hotel staff "tried" to find other accommodations. Staff blamed Expedia. I blame both parties particularly Baymont. I am a rewards member and will use other hotel programs since I was not compensated for my inconvenience. I found another hotel on my own by midnight.

After checking in and taking all of our luggage and other bags to our assigned room, my wife had to use the bathroom. After finishing she flushed the toilet only to watch the bowl fill up and nothing go down. We tried to call the front desk but the in room phone didn't work at all so my wife went down to tell people at the desk about the toilet. The assistant manager there said that the maintenance people had already left for the day. He excused himself for a minute and returned with a plunger which he handed to her. She was totally caught off guard by this. She came back to the room and the two of us attempted to clear the toilet. The plunger was so old the rubber was to stiff to even move. She went back downstairs to the desk and let them know that the plunger wouldn't even work. The person at the desk informed her that he had called the maintenance people and they were on their way to the hotel. It is now about 6pm. The maintenance people get there and between the 3 of them, work until about 1130pm and the toilet is still plugged. It is then decided to move us to a different room but just for that night only. We were told to grab only what we would need to spend 1 night in another room. Upon arising, we went to the front desk to see what the status was on our original room. The assistant manager on duty then told us that they couldn't get the toilet fixed. We asked if they had another room for us, we were told 'no they didn't' and it would be best if we just leave??

The staff here is amazing to work with. I did have a small issue with my room, but gave them 5-stars anyway because they immediately jumped on it. They are awesome and truly care about their guests having a good experience

I got there and it took forever for someone to show up to check me in. No one was ever at the front desk. You had to dial 0 to call for someone. The second night the AC would not work at all until about 9am the next morning. A drunk homeless person was loitering around the facility day and night and helped himself to breakfast. Power flickered Saturday morning while I was getting ready. All the restaurants and businesses at the hotel were not operational. Had to walk to the gas station to get food. The phone in the room did not even work. I left a day early to get home.

Xavier did a great job. He made sure that our 2-week vacation when we had to leave our truck and trailer was safe and made sure we had everything on file. He's always very pleasant and when he's working he's busting his butt making sure everything stocked and great. Really appreciated his service

I had a very negative customer service experience here on October 3rd. I’m sure Baymont will be fine without my business, but I will not be staying here in the future. We accidentally booked the wrong date and when we called the hotel whoever answered was extremely rude and fixated on making sure we knew it was our fault, refused to help in any way, and was the most argumentative person I e ever encountered. In the end, we simply requested a refund through Expedia and the hotel approved it. I travel frequently enough to know good and bad service and I rarely complain. This person was so rude that I will not be returning and will repeat the story frequently.

They gave us somebody else room. When I opened the door talk about surprise. Then the next room they gave us maintenance was in work and it stunk. Finally the 3rd was good.

Good location, close to downtown.

Easy access to the highway. A number of decent places to eat close by.

The hotel was conveniently located for easy access to the Rapid City Airport.

Nice for the price, decent amenities (pool and fitness center), clean, comfortable. Breakfast was decent (continental with eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy), coffee was nice and strong. Close to Black Hills. Check in was a little slow and had to call and wait for someone but we were treated well.

Close to highway and great steak place around the corner.

Ok premises, room with 2 queen beds has too small sink area, beds were firm and very comfortable, clean. Dining area crowded and too small - food was average.

The hotel was clean, the staff was kind and the breakfast was good. Would stay here again!

On Expedia, the property advertised having a restaurant. Well, the 'restaurant ' is next door and won't be built for a year or so. We walked across the street to Marco's Pizza. Everything else was just fine.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic, but the same every day, which was great for 3 days, but would have been boring for more days.
