Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Henrietta

No lights on AT ALL over the car port fron t door entrance. Very dark, ans scary to come and go at night.

The A/C is awful. We set the A/C to auto but it jumps back and forth from cool to heat the entire night in a Mar night! Also when the fan is on, it was super noisy! The hotel also has a digital alarm which beep in the middle of the night and woke 4 of us all up! I don’t know why they put such a thing in the room. Also the next morning there was a power off, then we were asking for hot water but the staff told us there won’t be any hot water because there is no power… my husband was also stuck in the elevator for a few minutes. Very scary and unpleasant stay! I won’t even stay even it’s for free but I paid $300 CAD for this awful experience! Instant!

We lost power for 1-2 hours and no compensation for the inconvenience was offered. It was hot and we couldn’t sleep.

One end of the building, the end we stayed @ & where one would expect a staircase/fire escape to be, was closed and appeared to be under construction. In case of fire (obviously dismissing the elevators in the middle), one would have to go a lengthy distance to the opposite end of the building. I felt this was unsafe and hopefully this is temporary while the building is under construction.

The hotel and staff were all very, very nice!! Our room was nice and clean. Beautiful walk in shower. The King size bed was oh so very comfy, could have better pillows, way to soft, feather pillows smash like pancakes, no neck support at all. Breakfast Sunday morning was what i thought and looked like a delicious treat... I think the sausage was bad. Sunday Afternoon I became very sick, unfortunately not 100% sure it was that, however my partner and i had the same breakfast except the sausage. By reason of deduction. However it's a very nice hotel. One other glitch, we wanted to use the hotel pool, but the water looked very murky, like the filter needed to be run, but wasn't so we nixed that idea. For a 13 yr. old Hotel still in pretty good shape. Nothings Perfect.

The pool was closed and the building was under construction. There was not any notice of any of this when booking. The person across the hall also had a dog that barked sporadically throughout the night.

Overall, a very nice place, and we no significant issues, but there are some things that look like are being taken care of in a timely fashion. The hallway carpets were all dirty and need a to be vacuumed. Not soiled, just not vacuumed recently. Two of the 4 Ice Machines (3rd and 4th Floors) had "Out Of Order" signs on them with directions to go to the 2nd Floor for ice. The grounds outside had lots of debris and, again, looks as though nobody is keeping up with picking up the trash.

The room wasnt ready, had no clue when available. Pool was out of order and laundry was out of order I cancelled and they still charged me $228. Worse place ever

Door lock on one ground door wasn't working

On arrival to the hotel we went to check in, only to be told the card Expedia sends to hotel for payment after the money for one night was taken out of our account, was declined. The employee stated she did not have the mind set to deal with it right now and gave me two keys for our room, stated she would deal with it later that night. Once to our room it appeared clean until the bathroom....the bathroom floor was covered in long black hair all over along with the shower/tub having curly hair all over it too, inside bottoms of the trash cans were also very dirty. No hand soap noted anywhere. Having a little one who is crawling/walking was very unsettling knowing the room may have not been actually cleaned. I had to clean the bathroom before use. Once it came to check out the next morning we were told by the employee that he could not find our room in the system that we were attached to. Looked under our name which then was able to find that was were in the system as a no show the night before but clearly we slept there and had been given two room keys. Money was already charged to my bank account on the May 23rd. The employee stated that we were all set because clearly we were there and had two keys which means we did not do a no show.

Stayed on 4th floor. The whole-building heating/cooling unit was very loud, cycling on and off every 5 minutes. Vents were very dirty and dusty. Furniture was old and drawers wouldn’t stay closed.

I could always count on Hampton inn to be clean. Not anymore. The bathroom disgusting. Mold all around the shower caulking. Haven’t been cleaned in a very long time. In addition, stepping into the shower, I noticed dirt from my feet. My feet were clean prior to the hotel room. Shoes and sox before bare feet in hotel room. Leads me to believe the carpet or bathroom floor was not clean. Very disappointed

Property seemed to be an older hotel recently remodeled. Interior very clean. Rooms nice but I have two complaints. Shower caulking was very dirty with mold and areas around the building had debris and trash that could be easily cleaned up by maintenance but it doesn’t appear to be regularity done. Lost gloves bags mini liquor bottles etc..

The room was not clean and the linens were old and worn out. The shower had mold and was not clean.

Old, outdated, some areas were unclean, sheets were not freshly changed prior to my stay, significant light gaps from the curtains in the morning, poor quality pillows that flatten easily, towels were old. Never again.

Floors were sticky

The check in was a friendly experience, the host was nice. The towels had a red substance on them and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately i didn't notice the red substance until after I dried my face so needless to say i was a bit upset over that. The rest of the stay was pleasant. The towel incident brought my experience from a 9/10 to a 6/10

Room was smelly, we had to purchase plug in air fresheners. Air conditioner was full of caked on dust and dirt and was not working properly. The room did not have any hand soap, or toiletries as stated. We even had to go out and buy bathroom tissue. The sheets smelled terrible. The towels were clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

We chose this place mainly because it provided breakfast. The room was spacious equipped with a fridge and microwave. It had every I needed but felt it was outdated decor and rug.

No hand soap or tissue in the room. Beds were terrible, two people will roll into the middle, time to replace them. Breakfast was ok. Adjoining room was unlocked, glad I noticed since it sounded like the neighbors were about to come into our room!

Everything we needed for just an overnight stay for a college visit. Would have liked to take advantage of the gym and pool but ran out of time. Room was quiet (except for the loud hum of the heating/AC unit) and bed was comfy.

The room is very spacious. Its also very classy with nice finishes throughout for this price point. Its very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We usually look for Hampton Inns when we can because we know they are typically well cared for.

Only issue I had with my room was the lack of USB ports.

In room 402, the King bed's mattress was pretty worn out and they didn't even put a mattress pad on it, just a sheet directly on the mattress. It wasn't very comfortable. Everything else about the hotel has been fantastic. I have stayed at this hotel many times in the last 3 years. However, some of the mattresses in the rooms need to be replaced.

Good: Room was clean and comfortable once we finally got in it. Bad:I had called 2 days earlier to confirm adjoining rooms, was told to call back the morning of check-in day. I did so three times before check-in but no one answered the phone. When I arrived, I was curtly told by the woman at the desk that she remembered telling me to call before I arrived. I replied that I tried, but got no answer. I ended up asking for a manager, he helped sort things out, we got into one of our rooms at 4 p.m. check-in time, but our adjoining room was not ready until 5:40 p.m. Staff needs to be re-trained with regard to courtesy and customer service. Clenliness of common areas was disappointing. If pool hours are not going to be enforced, why have open hours posted at all? If staff will allow guests to occupy the pool until 2 a.m., it would be wise to have someone clean up the pool area before open hours. I attempted to post photos, but it didn't work. In the pool area there was food under the table, toilet paper stuck to the wall, a used bandaid on the floor by the pool, broken swim goggles by the edge of the pool, and an abandoned scrunchie.

Front desk people were very professional with smiles during arrival and departure.

Rooms were not available when arrived even though we had reservations. Offered no help to solve this problem.

I I was unfortunate enough to have My house burned down and my New York state license was inside my burning house. In the dealings of the insurance companies and the fire districts and all the things that I had to do I had to check in late. The first night I was unable to get my paper work out in time and explain myself fast enough before I was kicked off the property by the overnight clerk. Ferron a. RPD Rochester Police Department shirt which I'm sure he's wearing right now, to show off his authority over the night people. The following night, day two of my reservation. He at least allowed me to show him my paperwork including my interim license from the DMV and newspaper articles identifying who I was. He then proceeded to call the police and have me escorted off the property because I did not have a New York state license leaving me with nowhere to stay for a second night in a row. When I called the next morning and asked to speak to a manager he pretended like he was the on-site manager in order to get away with his unfair practices and try to stay out of trouble.

We were greeted with a smile & cheerful attitude when we walked in.We had a choice of floor.The room was beautiful & clean.Received a text asking if everything was ok & when I responded, we needed a pillow & blanket for pullout, we received it in 15 minutes.Beds were comfortable.Breakfast was hot & tasty. Every interaction with any worker was helpful (if needed) & met with a smile. 5 stars from a family.

Expedia messed up our reservation and the hotel couldn’t find us anywhere in the system. We sat on the phone for over 40 minutes with an Expedia representative, trying to fix the situation. Thankfully the hotel was able to manually place us into a room, and they actually upgraded us to the next room for free! The front desk was very kind to us and apologized for the mess that Expedia had made. It was very stressful, but Hampton made sure that we were okay and had a pillow to lay our heads on!

The property was clean and staff welcoming. Our room type was oversold, so they upgraded us to a suite which was a wonderful surprise. Breakfast was good.

Breakfast excellent. Staff Darlene was superior at her job. She made sure my husband and i were comfortable in our stay. The initial room we were assigned had a few deficiencies as the hotel is undergoing renovation. Thanks to Darlene we were moved to the fully renovated 4th floor making our stay most comfortable. Thank you Darlene for going beyond the call of duty. She even made sure our belongings were in the new room during our absence as we had to attend an affair.

The front office staff is very rude and at all helpful to the guests They act as though they don’t understand what we are asking I called the front desk to provide more towels and they said the cleaning staff will provide at the time of cleaning This is not the type of service expected when as a customer we are paying so much for the room

Friendly desk manager was very helpful at check in. Hot breakfast options were better than other hotels in the area.

Hotel was located in a nice area close to shopping and food. Only complaint is that I used a third party to make reservation for an accessible room. When I arrived at the hotel I got a regular room and the accessible rooms were booked. I blame this more on the third party for the screwup.

Our family stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was clean and quiet. It's located by multiple restaurants as well.

Everthing went smoothly. Courteous, helpful staff. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Hotel was fine, we were visiting family about 15 minutes away so good location, shopping and dining close by. Check in and checking out we’re very easy.

Hotel was in an area of a lot of chain restaurants and stores. Clean and nice rooms. No complaints. Pretty close to the Erie Canal if you are planning a bike ride along it.

Very nice hotel. Check-in was quick. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed one night and did not have any issues. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. We also used the pool which was on the small side but the water was warm.

The hotel's breakfast was dud. They would not refill items and almost always would run out of items. We found the room was not clean. Overall, we would not stay here again and not recommend it to anyone.

The room seemed recently renovated but the Tub/Shower were dated, with the tub liner loose and moving underfoot. Breakfast was a 3 out of 10, I am not sure what the "cheese omelets" are made of but I'm guessing its not 100% natural eggs, they were terrible.

Nice, clean, modern hotel with a very good breakfast. Lots of options, including HOT food (eggs, sausage, waffles, etc.). It was a little on the pricier side for a Hampton Inn though, so the overall "value" wasn't as good as it could have been. I'm guessing it was more expensive than usual because it was an Open House weekend at RIT, so supply-and-demand made it more expensive than usual and more than other Hampton Inns I've stayed at.

Spent 2 nights while we toured some colleges. Property was clean. Beds comfy. Didn’t use any amenities but pool looked clean and not crowded. Breakfast was not the best selection but it also depends what you like. Depending on the time you go it can be hectic on the weekend and the offerings were normal, make your own waffle, cereal, some grab and go, fruit, and eggs and sausage. I never saw bacon or bagels at the time i went but it was nice to have coffee easily available all day and staff was friendly. The area has plenty of walkable food options. You are right off the main strip so very convenient without being loud. I will say the decor in the rooms is a lil more dated than other hampton inns i have stayed at but thats a grander scale issue and also i am not a fan of fabric shower curtains but that was my only pet peeves, i would stay again.
