Great place with a fun vibe. Having direct access to volcano bay is awesome. Being able to walk to the water taxi is cool as well. The pools were great. Food wasn’t so good was our only complaint. Will be back for the waterpark some day.

We had a great stay. This is definitely more of a family friendly hotel, great for kids/families. The hotel is a cute retro theme. Resort food was good and we really loved the shakes and ice cream shop. Pools are great, but we were bummed that the waterfalls weren’t working in the lazy River the week we stayed there. Gym is awesome. It had everything we needed, very clean and had a good layout with lots of machines. Customer Service was really amazing everywhere we went. We are happy with our stay!

The waterfall features in the lazy river weren’t operational. It killed the vibe of the lazy river, and given the water stains, felt like it was in disrepair. The water slide was also closed during our stay. The milkshake counter was open until midnight. That was nice to have after returning to the hotel at 11:30PM. The bowling alley was also a really cool amenity that we enjoyed.

No water pressure in shower, and by no pressure it was literally dripping onto the faucet. Also the main reason we stayed was so that we could use the lazy river. To my shock you had to pay a deposit or for the float. Not sure cause I didn’t ask. It would have been an extra 60 dollars to use, add that onto the 26 dollars to park and the 160 dollar room is more like a 260 dollar room. Positive side: lots of room and quick access to the city walk.

Good value for money on the nightly cost. Drinks prices will kill you. $75 for three drinks by the pool. Has a separate entrance to volcano bay which is convenient. Paying parking fees at a hotel you’re staying at seems like it should be included.

My experience this time around was not good. I came for my and my son’s birthday. The room was filthy, I had a toe nail in my soap. There was hair in sink, bathtub, and room smelt strong like “urine”. Iron didn’t work, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned, parking and gates didn’t work with cards. Needed my cards to be reprinted three times. I was rushed out of my room since 930 am when check out is at 11. My son had an allergic reaction in the room. He broke with hives when laying on the bed. I washed him and when I put him again on bed he broke out in hives. I believe the blankets are not washed. There had to be dog hair in the room, as that’s what my son is allergic to. Last time I stayed here, did not experience this at all. It’s very nasty the room we were “upgraded” to complimentary. I’ve complained several times, and all they offered was one night of free parking. Instead of switching our rooms.

The staff and service were excellent! The pool area, and bathrooms are clean and well kept. The diner/ cafeteria is clean with plenty of tables, chairs, and booths. The diner has a good amount of options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The shuttles to Universal studio parks is great! So many things to do near the resort was another plus for me! My family and I had a great time, hopefully we will be back next summer!

Resort is nice. A little dated now from other universal resorts we have said in. We did notice a lot of bugs in our room this time so that couldn’t with a look into. Not nice to see. Cleaning services only happen every second day so maybe that has something to do with it. We also had a ground floor room so that may have had something to do. Love that you can walk to the universal city walk from the resort.

The property itself is quite nice, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. I had to clean the tub and bathroom myself, and the shower pressure was very weak. When you walk into the room from the hallway you walk into a moldy smell, Additionally, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and both my husband and I woke up in pain every morning. On a positive note, the pool area is beautiful and well-maintained, and the front desk staff was amazing. However, the housekeeping staff was less friendly; they seemed to avoid guests in the hallways and didn't respond when spoken to. The best feature of the hotel is its convenient access to Volcano Bay.

I GET THAT IN THEORY IT IS A VINTAGE STYLED HOTEL, THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, HOWEVER, IT REALLY FELT LIKE STAYING IN A MOTEL FROM THE 60'S AND 70'S INSIDE THE ROOMS AS WELL, JUST FELT THE CREATIVES COULD FIND A WAY TO UPDATE THE INTERIORS OF THE ROOMS WHILE KEEPING THE OLD STYLED CHARM

While the property seems older, it’s been well kept and the vibe and decor is really fun. The staff was very helpful, the food selection and quality were great, the pools and lazy river were really nice and generously staffed for safety and comfort. My only complaints would be that the shower had extremely low volume and pressure and the bedding wasn’t very comfortable.

Admittedly I’ve only stayed at the higher end Universal hotels so perhaps my expectations were too high, but at $300 per night, I would NEVER recommend this hotel. It took 30 full minutes to check in. Many employees were available yet sitting at the desk not taking guests. The pull out bed was broken. Most of the plugs didn’t work. It was bizarre. In the morning, half of our tech wasn’t charged bc the plug were out of order and we didn’t know. I had to curl my daughter’s hair (cheer- that’s why we are here) in the kitchen because not a single plug in any of the bathrooms work. The pool area is very nice, but my son just came out of the restroom saying he couldn’t wash his hands bc the sink didn’t work. Our room key wouldn’t open any of the pool gates (despite turning the little light green). Universal either needs to lower the price of the stay or seriously update the property.

Lovely staff, great hotel overall we just would have preferred a few changes - a table service restaurant rather than a ‘canteen’ style diner, and in the room there were no slippers or shower gel (just soap). The beds were also quite uncomfortable. Great location and service overall though

The rooms feel like the old rooms I used to stay at as a kid in a cheap $40 room in Kissimmee with my parents. The sofa bed was the worst sofa ged I’ve ever slept in my life. Felt like bricks. The family “suite” is really not a suite whatsoever. I would definitely not stay here again. My kids enjoyed the pool but what kid doesn’t? They charge for Floaties in the lazy river like who does that? Not even the 5 star resort charges for floats for their lazy river. I hope they either remodel their rooms and maybe have real suites with a two bedroom, or lower the price to what it really feels like, a cheap motel inn with a pool and lazy river. Those rooms where not worth $400 a night.

Decided to have a mini family vacation to celebrate my son’s 5th birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. After mentioning to the staff that we were celebrating his birthday, the response we received was “So what do you want to do?” We were not asking for anything free we just hoped they would help make the day feel special like Disney did last year for his 4th birthday. Eventually the front desk offered two arcade tickets and free ice cream and I will say the ice cream staff were wonderful. While waiting for our room, we went to the pool and lazy river. Sadly, the pools were dirty with multiple dead frogs and insects floating around. The lifeguards and pool staff did not seem friendly or welcoming and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. Dining was also disappointing. The food was poor and I actually got sick my first night. The night staff at the restaurant were unfriendly as well. The bowling alley was the one bright spot. Franco was an absolute sweetheart and the only staff member who stood out as genuinely kind. Our room was another letdown. Since it was my son’s birthday, I expected at least a little extra magic but instead we were placed in Tower 8 on the 6th floor. It was extremely loud and nothing about the stay felt special. I regretted my stay and should have chosen one of the newer hotels since we only went to Epic Universe. I guess we were just used to the Disney magic and thought that Universal could make the same.

Loved the whole vibe. Super friendly and helpful staff. Pool area looked amazing but didn’t get to use because our flights were delayed. Our room was very nice. We had dinner at the bar in the bowling alley and had after drinks at Swizzle and enjoyed those as well. Shuttle to park was excellent. Everyone was great.

Cabana Bay is a great family hotel. The hotel lacks healthy food options in a full-service capacity. We had an incident where the music was so loud on a Sunday morning that we all woke up to it. We were told this is the standard. When I asked a manager why they would blare music for the one person at the pool (8:10 am) versus the 100s sleeping, they turned it down. I genuinely think this was an error but why it has to be pointed out baffles me. The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our trip.
