Don’t rely on the drop off and pick up service for a small fee which is allegedly provided upon request!!! Because they don’t answer the phone and it looks like a derelict compound the place you reside!! 1/10 👎

The entrance can be easily missed. Parking is on muddy, rough ground. Smoke alarm has obviously had no battery for quite some time. Very dated, desperately needs an upgrade. Tiny bathroom.

Friendly host who came out to direct us in off the A435, as the turn into the drive is very sudden and easy to miss, can be quite a challenge with traffic whizzing along at 60-70mph!

This was amazingly cheap. So don’t expect miracles - the rooms are in a low-rise hut. But there’s everything you need including a perfectly comfy bed, a private shower with hot water and an excellent TV. Parking is free and under the trees. I’ll stay again.

This lodge was okay. It is very rough and ready and quite dirty, but the bed was clean so if you’re only looking for somewhere to sleep it’s fine. The owner was very nice and provided transport when we needed it.

Where do o start. Booked for 2 nights. As a contractor, I work all over the UK staying in hotels, so ive been in good and bad places, but this by far has been the worst, tiny room with a micro bathroom. Smoke detectiors with no batteries in and the battery slot still open with cob webs on it is boon open without batteries that long. The beds and blankets were damp, we slept in our own sleeping bags (something we've never done before) The shower worked in the evening, but didn't work in the morning?? Leaving at 5.30 am for work, had to use our phone camera light to find our way to where our van was parked, and that too was a mission as the carpark is in complete darkness and small, so hadto do a 10 point turn to get off it. The only positive i can take away from this stay is the toilet was clean. This place is in need of a massive refurbishment. This is the first time I've left a review of any of the hotels/properties and air B&B's Way over priced for the quality of the stay!

Not the superior double it was described as. Let me say first that the host was very welcoming. When I arrived, the room wasn't ready. The carpet was wet, having been vaxed due to something being spilt by a previous tenant. I was underwhelmed, to be honest. Although the room had a smart TV, a fridge, and a microwave, it felt cold and damp and was full of creepy-crawlies, I spent a lot of time removing them. The room needs some TLC. The property was lovely situation. Road noise cant be helped butvthe room was very rough. The paint work was disgusting and looked like a shed. The bed was very uncomfortable and too soft. Luckily it was a warm weekend as only heating was an electric radiator. The parking was difficult as i had a van and i had to reverse out onto a main dual carriage way as little space to turn round. The noise of the water pipes when any other room used their water was deafening. The shower, i was warned when i booked in, had a knack to getting it right! Sorry but i wont be staying again and i wont recommend. A shame as it looked lovely and opening the door straight onto garden was very inviting but definitely needs doing up to temp me back. Would be lovely in the summer to sit out in the evenings.

This accommodation was little more than a shack. My summerhouse was cleaner. Absolute disgrace, so much so my husband ordered me to leave. I cannot describe just how bad the property was. Cobwebs, shower held together with tape, the promise of the room smelling of fish later that night. The door barely closed and had daylight shining through. It felt cold and damp. There was no 'garden view', more a high level slit window to nothingness. This place was beyond terrible. Such an upsetting experience that will be reported to environmental health and the fire brigade. Could not believe it when the owner said 'no homeless or immigrants here's. What an outrageous comment to make.

On arrival we had to wait until 17.00 as the room was not ready. The room was dirty, with bottle tops from previous visitors behind the bed, dirt on the skirting boards, mould all over the room, the battery removed from the smoke detector, the bed was damp, there was vomit just outside the door. The whole stay was terrible. We slept in our clothes and did not take a shower due to the uncleanliness of the room.

This property can not be advertised on hotels.com. on arrival the owner was busy cleaning the room and making the beds. The place is in a terrible condition and very neglected. Hotel . com needs to review this property urgently. The photos on hotels.com is so different in reality.

Very pleasant & chatty host, the small room was clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately the night was warm and humid which made the room uncomfortably hot, this problem was compounded by insects which swarmed in whenever we opened the very small window. The TV remote didn’t work (suspect the batteries, but we couldn’t check as it was screwed shut) also the smoke alarm battery hatch was open, revealing that no battery was fitted. We couldn’t set the shower temperature (scalding hot or stone cold) despite following instructions given by the host. The weather was exceptionally hot that night, had it been normal September weather, I’m sure that the room temperature would have been perfectly OK and the stay good value, given the price paid.

The only positive i can take away from this stay is the toilet was clean. This place is in need of a massive refurbishment. Where do o start. Booked for 2 nights. As a contractor, I work all over the UK staying in hotels, so ive been in good and bad places, but this by far has been the worst, tiny room with a micro bathroom. Smoke detectiors with no batteries in and the battery slot still open with cob webs on it is boon open without batteries that long. The beds and blankets were damp, we slept in our own sleeping bags (something we've never done before) The shower worked in the evening, but didn't work in the morning?? Leaving at 5.30 am for work, had to use our phone camera light to find our way to where our van was parked, and that too was a mission as the carpark is in complete darkness and small, so hadto do a 10 point turn to get off it. Not the superior double it was described as. Let me say first that the host was very welcoming. When I arrived, the room wasn't ready. The carpet was wet, having been vaxed due to something being spilt by a previous tenant. I was underwhelmed, to be honest. Although the room had a smart TV, a fridge, and a microwave, it felt cold and damp and was full of creepy-crawlies, I spent a lot of time removing them. The room needs some TLC. There was gaffer tape under the shower cubicle, and the sink was coming away from the wall. There was tape on the ceiling, too. One saving grace was the shower, which was very good. Parking was tight due to a number of abandoned cars dotted around. The bed wasn't very comfortable so I hardly slept. It was not ideal when I had to be at the Vox Conference Centre at 8 am. Room 1 was described as a superior twin, which it certainly isn't. There was no WiFi which really isn't acceptable these days. I wouldn't personally stay here again but it has potential with the TLC I mentioned.

The property was lovely situation. Road noise cant be helped butvthe room was very rough. The paint work was disgusting and looked like a shed. The bed was very uncomfortable and too soft. Luckily it was a warm weekend as only heating was an electric radiator. The parking was difficult as i had a van and i had to reverse out onto a main dual carriage way as little space to turn round. The noise of the water pipes when any other room used their water was deafening. The shower, i was warned when i booked in, had a knack to getting it right! Sorry but i wont be staying again and i wont recommend. A shame as it looked lovely and opening the door straight onto garden was very inviting but definitely needs doing up to temp me back. Would be lovely in the summer to sit out in the evenings.

Lovely setting. Lovely host - met me on arrival . Room very comfortable. Was nice to sit outside in evening and watch the night come in peacefully. Could do with modernising/decorating but I wouldn’t let that stop me returning. Great place for the price paid. :) had a lovely rest for the night!

For the price i paid which was very low it was most satisfactory. The owner was extremely pleasant and chatty. Everything worked fine and the bed very comfortable.

I needed warm shower and comfy bed to stay over night with my dogs during Canicross races and thats what I got. Bed was clean and comy, bathroom was clean, water in shower was warm. There also was milk in fridge and kettle and tea bags. Place needs a TLC, yes, but its not expensive and it was comfortable. Host was very nice and friendly guy. I slept well = Im happy :)

Don’t rely on the drop off and pick up service for a small fee which is allegedly provided upon request!!! Because they don’t answer the phone and it looks like a derelict compound the place you reside!! 1/10 👎

On arrival we had to wait until 17.00 as the room was not ready. The room was dirty, with bottle tops from previous visitors behind the bed, dirt on the skirting boards, mould all over the room, the battery removed from the smoke detector, the bed was damp, there was vomit just outside the door. The whole stay was terrible. We slept in our clothes and did not take a shower due to the uncleanliness of the room.

Friendly host who came out to direct us in off the A435, as the turn into the drive is very sudden and easy to miss, can be quite a challenge with traffic whizzing along at 60-70mph!

This lodge was okay. It is very rough and ready and quite dirty, but the bed was clean so if you’re only looking for somewhere to sleep it’s fine. The owner was very nice and provided transport when we needed it.

Quirky but great accomodation. Quiet but close enough to the M40 for driving - very clear instructions given about how to find property. Room clean and well kept with great bed, bathroom (shower), and also mini fridge and microwave. Friendly chap checked us in and out :) We genuinely had a lovely stay :D

Paul was a great host. The lodge was comfortable and perfect for us attending a wedding nearby. The room has a fridge and a microwave, as well as tea and coffee. The bed was really comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.

Stay clear! Don’t know when the photos were taken but it’s not like that now! We arrived at house and knocked door to get access to lodge… no answer! Just a faded note we couldn’t read and guttering falling around front door. Anyway thought we would go to lodge to see if we could find anyone only to find mouldy doors, cracked dirty render, rusty cars in parking area and piles of junk outside every door to lodges! Hence we left and booked a holiday inn which was good! I’ve asked for a refund only to be told I should’ve cancelled 24 hours in advance…. Obviously if I knew I wouldn’t have booked it in the first place! The pictures advertising this property are not a real reflection of the place… it is being missold and I would advise everyone to save there money! We didn’t make it in the room that’s how bad it was! I was embarrassed I took my partner there! I hope the owner reads this after denying my refund! 😁

Located conveniently for The Storm Race 10k and if it hadn't been raining heavily there was lots of nice surrounding countryside to explore, the facilities in my room were good and included a microwave and fridge though there was no WIFI available, though the staff were excellent in helping me out after I couldn't find anyone to let me into my room, the landlord even bought me a toothbrush because I had accidently forgotten to pack mine, the pressure on the hot tap was a little strong and took some getting used to so I didn't spray water every time I turned it on and one of the bedside lamps came on by itself occasionally but other than those too things I found little to fault it
