Residence Inn by Marriott Long Island Islip/Courthouse Complex

Pool was closed for maintenance...told to use pool at another hotel located next door. I am handicapped, so it was difficult to get to the other hotel. Once I arrived, I was told that pool was closed as well. Very disappointed that the staff did not communicate this beforehand. I contacted Expedia for compensation and was told the hotel would not approve any type of refund. Very unsatisfied, I had planned to have family come enjoy the pool

Our family of 3 (including a 2 yr old) were at the hotel for a long weekend and had an excellent stay. The room was large and clean; the bed was comfortable; the pool was nice; and the breakfast was fantastic! All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Our son didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be staying there again when we are in the area.

They had inside two sided fireplace and a really big lobby for groups to hand out in with enough privacy from others. The outdoor grill and fire pit were also a great perk when you were not quite ready for bed. My suite was spacious. My only concern was the height of the bed (for a disability room) was very challenging to get into. A stool would have helped me but this bed would have been impossible for anyone wheelchair bound -even with several people performing a lift.

Excellent hotel. Room was spacious and clean, hotel amenities were good (gym wasn't bad for a hotel gym, pool was nice, there's a basketball court), breakfast was included and nice. Overall very nice stay, though it was only overnight for me.

Staff was excellent, always smiling and ready to help. The kitchen were very easy to engage with and even provided paper plates when needed for breakfast. There was hot water for tea and coffee 24 hours a day. It looks like an old hotel but extremely well maintained. Nice, quiet environment. They also have a fireplace that was lit every night so guests could seat around it. When we needed something in the room, the front desk was quick to dispatch help. I booked this hotel as I was focused on those with at least 9.0 out of 10 review rating and I was not disappointed with the experience. I will definitely recommend anyone staying in Central Long Island or just visiting the NYC region and does not mind taking the train to commute to the city should stay in this hotel. The hotel is also not far from the LIRR train station so if you are driving you can easily park at the train station (and it is free parking) and just commute to Penn Station in Manhattan.

Staff was super kind and friendly. The pool area was great for the kids. The free breakfast was great with gluten free options. We also needed the laundry. The one bedroom setup was great and we loved that we could bring our dogs. Great stay!

Stayed here multiple times and always enjoyed it. It's one of the few pet friendly hotels in the area when we visit family. I wish the per deposit wasn't so expensive, but they are very accommodating and the rooms are clean. I have stayed in other pet friendly hotels that stinks and smell like animals because they never get them clean. This one has never been an issue and my dog is comfortable here.

I am very disappointed, i made a reservation at this hotel because of tje indoor pool and it has a broken water pump and closed indefinitely. I should have been able to know that before check in and i couldnt cancel

They have an indoor pool but it was absolutely freezing

Besides having a cockroach in our room it was a good stay. Staff was friendly and understanding. Didn’t get comped anything but they moved us to a different room.

On the last day we saw food under the bed that we knew wasn’t from us. Old bread and what looked like eggs. Has you question how well they actually cleaned the rooms

We arrived in the evening around 10pm after visiting family. The front desk associate was pleasant and the lobby was clean. He told me the elevators were out of order so we would have to take the stairs on the far side of the building. We parked down on the end of the building where we saw the signs in the parking lot "park at your own risk; not responsible for theft or damage." The stairwell was so filthy - my 2 year old climbed them with hands and feet which increased my anxiety - I had to scrub him when we got up to the room. The second floor had a wide open door - loud guests with all of the doors open. Smelled awful. The room was basically fine. Very dark. My little guy picked up a pill off the floor which I grabbed quickly before he put it in his mouth. I just felt disgusted. Having paid $300 for one room for the night - I did not think I'd be feeling like I was in an unsafe and dirty space. In addition - I don't know how reviews that I had read prior to booking said the breakfast was excellent. It was absolutely awful - there were literally very few items even available and what was there was not good - packets of oatmeal for DIY, tea bags but no hot water, and uncooked eggo waffles...no thank you.

Very clean, comfortable, roomy accommodations. Very nicely appointed in the rooms and throughout the hotel.

Beds were comfy and the room was very clean.

Lobby was clean and staff was helpful with check in despite our room being booked when hotel was full. Room appeared mostly clean but had a very strong smell of food/uncleaned carpets. Would not recommend staying here unless you are desperate (as we were). Best thing I can say about the room is the bathroom appeared very clean.

This ended up being a great location for us as we were there for baseball, LI Ducks & SI Ferry Hawks. The major inconvenience was the WiFi was down the whole time we were there. We were told multiple times it was being fixed and never was. We had to leave the property in order to work remotely. Kind of a bummer when we only had to walk across the parking lot to the baseball field. (Reason for 3 stars)

The first room had a bed that was crooked from the feet to the head and into the middle. It also had a blower on my face that would not turn off. I changed rooms at 4 am because I could not take it any longer. The 2nd room ( 221) was better but I think it has structural issues since the floor was slanted. If you look from the bed to the bathroom you can clearly see it. If you stand on the left of it or the right of it you can feel it.

Was overall nice, recently renovated with a spacious room and friendly staff. Small details missing - poor room lighting, bathroom door would not latch, sink towel bar was broken and not usable.

Front desk gentleman was phenomenally competent, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! I always say in hotels the staff can make or break the stay

Would not let me check in

Morning and afternoon staff is perfectly fine. The night staff don't want to be bothered mostly. Using the Bonvoy app for Marriot with the night staff was useless as the night staff either never showed up, took 2-3 hours to show up, or called 2-3 hours after basic requests (towels, linen) to see if I was awake and marked the request as complete despite not showing up. It was easier to go to front desk and make requests, which they generally seemed annoyed about. Dishwasher in my room was broken. Leaked soapy water across the floor. Told front desk and they sent a maintenance person who just wiggled something back into place. The leak was coming from BEHIND the dishwasher, so I just never bothered turning it on again and used it as a drying rack instead. The other guests are generally fine and respect the quiet hours. Even the families with kids were respectful. There is a lot of coming and going on the first floor, but not enough to be bothersome.

The property and room was nic. The breakfast was great. The only thing I didn't like was that they told me coffee was available all night and the night manager refused to make some for us.

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. At least an hour late. Had dinner reservations and arrived late. Staff had a “sucks to be you attitude “.

Perfect for families attending the lacrosse tournaments on the SUSA sports complex! We will be booking again next year.

This is one of those hidden gems, convenient to the LI Ducks stadium and the Cohalan court complex. The rooms are spacious with a fully equipped kitchen with high end appliances no less. Super complimentary breakfast and comfortable dining area. I would highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable enough to accommodate a family of 5 traveling with a pet. The complimentary breakfast had great options to choose from. The hotel is near shopping, the highway, and the train station.

It was extremely convenient for court purposes. But also home like and comfortable, plus the pool was a plus! Enjoyed the stay!

It is a large property with no security cameras in any hallways. One evening there was a large disturbance wth large amounts of kids roaming inside and outside the property for over an hour. Breakfast was boring and tasteless for 4 mornings.

I stay at this hotel twice a year or more to visit family. This visit was horrible. No shower curtain on the shower, TV's were not working in the room. Breakfast - don't get me started. There was a large group staying there who took over the breakfast area and cleaned out the food, leaving little to nothing for others to eat. Overall a horrible experience. Not sure if I will be coming back, which is a shame as it is the closest one to the family.

Nice property, nice room. Pull out bed could be more comfortable, but most aren't. Continental breakfast, just okay, but it ends at 9am and on Sunday at 9:30. If you're away from home on vacation the last thing you want is to have to wake up and get out early just to get some eggs and coffee.
