Americas Inn Bardstown

I would not recommend this hotel. We checked in and the room had an odor. After a few moments we figured out it was mothballs. When we told the owner he explained that it was bleach. I think everyone knows the difference between mothball smell and bleached mouth. He moved us to another room. The bathroom door did not close all the way. I think the owner is doing remodels little by little.

Room was very clean. Staff was very friendly. I asked if they had a step stool for my mother because the beds are high and she had trouble getting in. They brought one to me .

Upon entering the room there was an off putting odor; windows and mirrors were not clean; road noise was constant throughout the night; did not feel comfortable walking barefoot on the carpet; reused passkey envelope - not clean, not impressive at all.

I got a phone call at 11pm telling me I needed to get to the hotel to check in. I was at the bar and hadn't checked in but apparently the indian man who lives Im guessing on premise wanted to go to bed and was tired of waiting on what looked like I was his only check in. Only one other car in the parking lot

Clean and friendly. Basic motel facility. Meets my needs. I have no issues coming back here.
