The Royal Victorian Motel

Rooms were clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that 3 of the different outlets in the room were “loose”. I’m not sure what term to use but when trying to plug in my phone charger it either fell right out of the outlet completely or partially and wouldn’t charge.

The hotel was good value for the price. Plenty of pillows offered. Bed was comfortable. Good location! In the down side, no working ice machine, no mat in the bathtub (slippery), very most location and the freezer in the little fridge needed defrosting. Definitely could use just a few upgrades on the rooms to make it a little more comfortable (thicker windows, for instance).

Clean room, plenty of parking (lot + street), felt safe as a solo traveler, and very accommodating to my late arrival!

The stairs going up were long. There are no elevators, so if you need the ground floor, be sure to ask. Carpet was dirty. Everything else was fine.

The hotel manager spent a lot of time fixing out tv to make sure it was connecting to the internet.

Staff was kind and welcoming. New ice maker, that was great. Everything was clean, water hot, ac/heat worked.

We stayed 1 night during our trip to Olympic NP. in late evening no body was at the front desk for checking in. The room was small and smells so terrible , in the bathroom was a hole in the wall, not enough towels , the bed was uncomfy with small square pillows . Not enough parking.

Wifi was not working/very week signals room smelled like old wet property bit painted rencently.

Location is good if you need to get on the Ferry to Victoria BC. Walking distance to restaurants. Pet-friendly. Check-in was easy. Rooms are clean. wear and tear is evident but non-smoking rooms are clean and they have newer towels and linens. Request down stairs or upstairs room if you need it. call ahead if you have a pet or special accommodations for handicap or ADA assistance.

The carpet was very dirty, felt sticky, probably original to the building. The bedspread looked like it had been used for 30 years, worn and dirty feeling, we took it off the bed right away. No places in the bathroom to put your clothes while you took a shower, not even a hook on the door. While showering we stood in 4-6" of water that did not drain properly. The water in the sink faucet barely trickled out. Everything in the room was worn looking. One positive review was the the bed was pretty comfy, slept good. But I would not stay here again and would not recommend. Paid over $300 on Expedia to stay for 2 nights. The pictures on the website definitely looked better than the motel did in person. Would be stretching to give it a one star review.

Room was super dirty, a worst motel 6 would be better than this room & bathroom. Bathroom sink was clogged. Kids refused to enter the bathroom. Stay away from this motel.

the room was pretty unclean, had to ask for new sheets because there were dirt paw prints on my first set. They handed them to me and I changed them myself. Second set were scuffed and stained. Dead flys, broken chair. What really disgusted me was there was a washcloth that wasn’t from our stay still hanging from the shower curtain. It was a night of sleep in a nice town but wow I would not stay there again.

Rooms are refurbished and the place is clean and comfortable. Check in was friendly. I travel a lot and this is a STEAL!

First of all, the young lady who checked us in was attentive and polite. No complaints there. No safety in parking lot Someone slashed my tire overnight adding $340 to my trip cost. Strong mildew smell they had clearly tried to cover up with bleach. Everything was relatively clean but floor was gross. Also the bathroom has mold in the bath tub. The coffee maker water tank had no lid so it was gross inside. It is located next to a partially abandoned apartment building.

Good location for visiting the national park. Front desk person was friendly and helpful and bed was comfortable. Negative is that the floor of the room was very dirty. My feet were black after walking around the room. Hotel needs to shampoo the carpet and ensure that the hard floors around the bathroom are mopped.

carpet and upholstery made the room smell musty and damp; bathroom lightbulb is bare and exposed; carpets were not clean; bathmat was damp before first use; for these and A/C reasons (when running it blows under curtain pushing it out into the room and blocking a good amount of the cooling), I would not stay again

The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The main part of the room itself was clean, though very outdated. The bathroom still had a dirty towel in it and black hairs in various places. I did not want to take a shower as the shower head looked quite rusted over and nasty. I slept relatively comfortably, however.

Affordable. Small. Noisy. Was more convenient than other hotels. Size, per reported sqft, is apparently larger than other sites as well. It was decent. Wore earplugs and kept fan in to create white noise during the night. It was functional.

Good sized room and refrigerator.

Motel room was adequate, but our room was noisy due to being right next to a main road. Lumber trucks started moving through town very early, like 3 or 4am. Room was clean, but dated. It did seem like they made some improvements, as the bathroom looked more up-to-date. Stay was just okay.

Basic motel with old worn finishes and extremely high summer rates due to proximity to Olympic Peninsula and ferry to Victoria. Small rooms but functional and decently comfortable bed.

Room was mostly updated, could use new flooring. Kinda loud on the main road and not very walkable from downtown. Good price

I guess this motel was ok for the price. It wasnt horrible but it was just so so. The location is on a noisy street. The room was dark and outdated. Bathroom was remodeled and very nice.

This hotel is ok for one night. It’s clean ‘enough’ but it is in need of being updated. Nothing special but the beds were comfortable.

Room was fine. It was clean enough. Ventilation was poor. Couldn’t close the door in the back because it depends on the ac from the main room. Not even a fan in there. And no lock on the door. Back bed was hard.

The Royal Victorian was a nice motel that seemed to have been updated in the last 5 years. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Only drawback is it’s on the busy street so lots of traffic noise

Room was clean & spacious. There were a nice amount of towels & the room was warm & comfortable. This was a great place for a quick stayover on our way up to Canada. The front desk man was very professional and welcoming.

I received a message about check in but the info was not clear. It said registration desk was open until 10pm but then said to call if we’d be late. We got a call while driving that they were closing at 9:15 and the person was very rude about the confusion. She dod leave a key. The room was shabby and the floor sticky and dirty.

Adequate average property. The room light booked for friends traveling with us at three burned out lightbulbs! We advised property we would have a late arrival due to ferry. When we got there, no one in office and we didn’t know what to do. Finally we called and were told keys were left for us in an envelope. It would have been nice to have that information in advance.

The lady at check-in was great. We had just come from dinner to check in and leave to go see sunset from atop Hurricane Ridge. We didn't get back until around 10 pm. I wanted to shower before bed but noticed that we had NO towels. Not one. The office closes at 9, so I called the hotel phone number. The man answered the phone very casually, no Royal Victorian, may I help you out anything. I told him that we had no towels. He told me that the office was closed. Glad we could agree on that. I told him that we'd like some 'tonight'. He first told me he could get them to me by midnight. I stood that was not acceptable. Then he said maybe by 11 pm. When I started to all why not sooner, he hung up on me. Look, it's not my fault that his housekeeping didn't do their job properly. Needless to say, we went to bed without showers. I hoped maybe they'd be outside our door this morning, but no. So since the office doesn't open until 9, I called the same number. When he answered, he said, are you calling about the towels? Um, yes! Yes, I am. He then said he'd bring them by momentarily AND HE DID! No apology. I then got on the phone with Hotels.com to get some kind of refund for the inconvenience. They put me on hold to confirm my story with the hotel, then came back to say that the hotel would give us 15% refund, which isn't great but it's something. The rooms are worn. The hairdryer was melted (😳). The couch cushion had a large gash. Would NOT recommend.

I couldn't have asked for a more convenient, easy and relaxing location after a 10 hr drive. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Even called me to assist me with after hour check-in. I will definitely stay again and recommend this accommodation .

Advance communications with the staff indicated that they would provide transportation from the ferry upon arrival. When we were arriving, they refused to provide that service. In fact, they closed the office early and left our room keys in the mailbox. They assigned us an accessible room on the first floor that was large and clean, so we were happliy surprised with the room. But the welcome was not appreciated.

The hotel was clean and recently renovated with newer amenities (bathroom lights/fan, bathroom tiles and carpet, large TV, bed). The AC was a welcomed relief from the heat/humidity, and the shower’s water pressure strong (one really has to give a nod to the older-era shower heads and plumbing…newer plumbing is scarce more than a drizzle). Parking was adequate for the motel, and the location was fairly close to the downtown eateries, etc. The noise from the street/other hotel guests outside was a bit louder than I would care for, but short of reconstructing the walls there is not much one can do about this. All-in-all, I would give The Royal Victorian a solid 4 stars, and stay again next time we come to Port Angeles.

Room was ok but motel is very close to main highway making it very noisy with car and truck traffic.

Close to the National Park.

Stayed here for easy drive to park. Location is very trashy but I can tell they are trying to improve things. The surrounding area is filled with homeless and going to the laundry mat was a bit interesting. Ac was musty smelling which we asked about and was told to open the windows to let it air out. Wouldn’t have done that on the first floor but we were on the second floor. This place seems like the only affordable option in the area. It is located next to an abandoned building as well as next door to adult toy store and gun shop. The trip to Walgreens down the road to buy some items provided us with more of the same experience of this city. Went to eat at a restaurant that evening where the manager visibly stepped outside to do a drug deal with some teenagers and left his understaffed restaurant to a stressed out waitress and a drugged up/ high bar tender that was playing rap music with curse words and dancing. This was a shock to us because we expected the area by the water to be nicer quality. Don’t expect much in this location if you stay here. Disappointing!

The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and more modern than I expected when I saw the outside. Definitely had some good renovations done! Everything worked well in the room, coffeemaker, TV, etc. I don’t drive but this is walking distance to the water (2 blocks) and super affordable. Can’t recommend highly enough!

This is a good basic, no frills motel, with friendly staff, great location and decent price in Port Angeles. Since we were mostly going to be out and about it worked as a place to crash.

Motel is very conenviently located in town. Easy in and out. Room as clean and comfortable. Desk clerk was friendly. Fair price for what you get. I will stay there again.

Nothing fancy for the price. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. No breakfast and you could hear noise from street traffic..

Everything was clean. There was a binder with dining options. It had everything I needed. No problems😊

I liked the location in relation to the ferry, and city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Lots of pillows, no extra blanket. The room amenities were not as advertised (no tea just one coffee).

It was convenient for catching the ferry to Victoria and the price was right. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is fairly old and could do with a makeover.

Great property. Owner and staff are great. Breakfast has good options.

Royal Victorian is well-located and easy to get there. The room is clean and quiet. It is easy to check in and check out. The only pity is that there is only one bag of coffee for each day, and we two find it not enough.
