Small annex & en-suite. Room up one flight of stairs accessed off car park, but was hygenically clean, bright and snug. A nice bar and resteraunt downstairs, which doubles as breakfast area. Evening meals and breakfast selection are good value and very tasty.

Our family of ten stayed for three nights in five separate rooms. Overall the rooms were clean and comfortable but small. In particular, one couple stayed in a room on the main floor off of the bar and that room was super small. There is quite a bit of road noise but it quiets down during the night. The staff was super friendly. And the restaurant offered a variety of tasty options. The hotel is located just a few miles outside of town and has lots of parking.

Good location a few minutes drive out of city centre. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are a decent size and very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast in the morning (not included) and reasonably priced for the quality of product used. Would recommend and would stay again if returning to Chester

The hotel was very clean good standards. All the staff very friendly and gave excellent service. We didn't eat evening meal but they looked very nice but we did eat the breakfast which was excellent and there was to much for me too eat. They used high standards of product and everything looked home cooked well done will definitely be returning when back in the area.

I was on a course at Wrexham University and opted to stay just outside of Wrexham. Lovely little place. Spotlessly clean too. Lovely, friendly owners and a lovely bar meal had. The heating my in room was broken but was informed on check in and an alternative made available! Great!

The hotel was lovely and the staff courteous and accommodating. Aside from a few, limited spots which showed some age and repair, the accommodations were immaculate. I will certainly stay here again!

Hotel has a very good location for proximity to Chester, Liverpool & Cheshire Oaks. The hotel is beside a very busy road day & night and this makes the room we stayed in very noisy. The receptionist at check in was very friendly & helpful. The room was clean & tidy just the low ceilings made it rather cramped.

Nice, clean hotel with easy access into Chester. Triple room, on the small side but okay for 3 night stay. We had room 3 which is above the bar, at the front of the Hotel. This unfortunately had some noise from the bar and road and shaking from the traffic , this being said you do get used to it and it would not really put us off returning. Room cleaned daily. Comfy beds. Sound does travel through the rooms so expect some noise. The breakfast was really nice with a good selection and value , we had one evening meal which was also nice. The staff were really helpful and friendly and that’s what really made this place.

Very confused by the number of 5* reviews as this wasn’t our experience at all. We wouldn’t stay again and certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone else. Two biggest issues were that the hotel is right next to a main road that is incredibly noisy. The hotel provides earplugs, but if you’re at a stage of providing earplugs then really this should be stated in the hotel descriptions as light sleepers have no chance, not to mention the entire bed shaking as larger trucks go past. Second major issue is that our room was 2/3s half height due to slanted ceilings. As two tall people this was really inconvenient and proved a nightmare when it came to the shower which is tiny due to the restricted full height space. Windows also cannot be opened as clearly the hotel is very close to a farm or treatment plant, so the smell is awful. Outside of these issues, there were other minor ones such a no space to place bags or toiletries, plug sockets being totally inaccessible and poor quality toilet paper. Really this hotel should have its main issues cited on the website, though, as if you’re tall/have a bad back/are a light sleeper then this place just isn’t for you.

Such a nice place to stay and the staff were so lovely and welcoming. My daughter loved the fries from the night before that much that she asked for them again for breakfast 😅 As weird a request it was at 9am, they did them for her. I think things like that really go a long way. We’ll definitely be staying again.

Very clean and well presented and decorated hotel, staff were helpful and friendly. Room was ok but basic, comfy bed though, no wardrobe just a rail and no cupboard either just a frame with pockets (room4). Food was a let down, our advice to the owners would be less quantity on the plate and more quality ingredients. Poor communications were a let down, I called mid day to book a table and was told 7:30 was the time available, that was fine and advised the hotel that we’d be arriving from Preston around 4-5 in the afternoon. When we arrived they had a function on until 7:15 and all public lounge and bar areas were closed, this should have been told to me earlier when I booked the table as it was quite an inconvenience not having anywhere to go for 3 hours. Good price but please less food but of a higher quality and keep customers advised of events.

I stayed two nights in this hotel with my husband and my husbands relatives. It was mostly a good stay. The room was clean and a good size for two people and had an en suite bathroom. It was not too far from where we were visiting which was a plus point. Being of a certain age and not very mobile we were glad that we only had one flight of stairs to climb to the room. The food we had was good but the service was a bit slow at breakfast time. To improve the comfort of the room it would have been nice to have had a chair to sit on for reading and/or using the computer.

We booked 4 rooms for a family get together. All rooms were very clean with comfortable beds. However the hotel is on an A road with a large number of HGV's rumbling past throughout the night. The hotel supplied ear plugs in the rooms at the front of the hotel, but really could do with triple glazing in all rooms to cut down the noise

In particular, one couple stayed in a room on the main floor off of the bar and that room was super small. There is quite a bit of road noise but it quiets down during the night. The staff was super friendly. And the restaurant offered a variety of tasty options. The hotel is located just a few miles outside of town and has lots of parking.

We only had one night but the location close to Chester was perfect for us. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was great.

Great location, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. The only downside is that heavy lorries early in the morning are likely to give you a wake-up call unless you are a heavy sleeper

It is what it says on the tin; a pub with rooms. Food was delicious (I had the chicken tagliatelle and home made sticky toffee pudding for dinner) and a great choice for brekky .... smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with ANCHOVY muffin was yummy.... but for a 'pub' to then charge an extra £3+ for a tea bag in hot water just left me feeling a bit miffed! The white wine (NZ Marlborough, £8.20 large glass) with the evening meal wasn't very chilled either and tasted much more like a Chardonnay). If you're going to offer these items, I think it's vital to get them right. Just my opinion of course

Good location a few minutes drive out of city centre. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms are a decent size and very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast in the morning (not included) and reasonably priced for the quality of product used. Would recommend and would stay again if returning to Chester

Very clean and well presented and decorated hotel, staff were helpful and friendly. Room was ok but basic, comfy bed though, no wardrobe just a rail and no cupboard either just a frame with pockets (room4). Food was a let down, our advice to the owners would be less quantity on the plate and more quality ingredients. Poor communications were a let down, I called mid day to book a table and was told 7:30 was the time available, that was fine and advised the hotel that we’d be arriving from Preston around 4-5 in the afternoon. When we arrived they had a function on until 7:15 and all public lounge and bar areas were closed, this should have been told to me earlier when I booked the table as it was quite an inconvenience not having anywhere to go for 3 hours. Good price but please less food but of a higher quality and keep customers advised of events.

The room was comfortable but tiny with hardly any storage or shelf space. Water pressure in the wash basin was very low and little more than a trickle. Having said that, the shower was very good. The main problem was traffic noise. I'm quite a heavy sleeper but was woken up by road noise several times during the night. It was good value and ok for a one night stay, but not for a longer period.

Sad to say that I think the rooms are now in need of an overhaul, carpet needed a deep clean or replacement, rust and mildew in the bathroom, basic essentials coffee etc, not what I’d class as luxury, that’s how it’s being described by the new owners. Okay for a one night stay but could be better for the money.

My plans changed and I got to experience the Indian Cuisine. I can say it was the best curry I’d had in ages. I found the room perfectly adequate (once I’d located the light switch for the bathroom!) the door to the car park was novel and useful. Thank you for a comfortable stay and the excellent food!
