The Yukon Inn

The rooms in the Yukon Inn were recently renovated so they look quite nice inside, with red, black and grey and new furniture. The staff are excellent and are very friendly, very attentive, and I found them to be very accommodating. 10/10 We also used the laundry which was handy although you needed coins to operate the machines. The only 2 things I did not like were: 1) the smoking area was right outside my non smoking room so the smoke came in through my window whenever someone sat smoking in the smoking cubicle. And 2) the fire/smoke alarm started beeping at wee hours and woke all of us up so we got very little sleep. The smoke detectors were expired 8 YEARS ago and were not replaced. They did move us into a different and less expensive room with a smaller fridge/less space for the 2nd night (the fridge in the 1st room was a full fridge and was lovely) but that room also had an expired smoke alarm. The place itself was quite nice and acceptable, comparing it to the horrible experience we'd had the night before at Watson Lake at (Andrea's hotel where all rooms and walls were so disgusting-don't stay at Andrea's!!!) so the beds and nice decor at Yukon Inn in comparison was sooo welcome! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the food at the Yukon Inn restaurant, Legends Smokehouse and Grill. (I do hope they've replaced all their smoke detectors though!) We'd definitely stay there again! Beds were comfy!

Airport shuttle was great

The hotel has no elevator and only one entrance stairs to second floor. A very long walk to room 229.

I stay in Whitehorse a little bit and found Yukon Inn to be good value. Sure, it could do with a makeover but it's clean, the rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. Upside for me is the Big Bear across the road, nearby shopping options, some fast food and 10 minute walk down to Main Street. In house Legends bar/restaurant is well priced for food and booze. It's quiet too.I think I've found my go to for next trip.

Great little inn. Good price. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was super helpful. Shuttle to and from the airport whenever there's a flight coming or going is very convenient. Close to some good restos and other stores. Overall, a great place to stay when travelling in the Yukon

Old hotel but clean. No elevator so have to haul bags upstairs of on second floor.

No elevators (sucks when you have multiple bags) no water and ice that I could find, all the vending machines are either sold out or out of service. Couldn’t

Spacious room, clean. The people work here all are friendly. We had a very nice dinner at their restaurant: Legends Smoke House & Grill, delicious food. McDonald's is in walking distance.

Thankfully we only had to spend one night! The room we booked smelled so bad we couldn't take it. We asked for a different room, looked at 3 more before we got one we were willing to stay in. The floor was gross, someone else's clothes behind the bed. We booked online, so couldn't get out of it. The only thing they didn't have was chalk outlines-not that night anyways!

Rooms were spacious and clean.

I've stayed here many times and will continue to do so. The hotel doesn't look great from the outside and the lobby and hallways look a bit rough. However, many of the rooms are recently refinished and are in nice condition and are clean. Beds comfortable, good TV and internet, clean bathroom; fridge; coffee maker; microwave.

The lobby reeked of smoke and weed at all times. Room was ok. Bathroom floors dirty in corners. Beds were comfy. Air conditioning doesn’t work very well.

The first room offered was dirty and smelt of urine. Second room was better but needs updating. People loitering in the lobby by the check in desk asked for cigarettes and change. The hotel was giving them accommodation and dinner vouchers. Our room had seen better days. It needed an update and deep clean. The bed covers were dirty. See photo. I personally would not stay again. On a positive note. The breakfast was very good.

This property for the price was terrible. The rugs were stained, the place smelled like stale urine. The bed was horrible the sagging mattress was to big for the bed and I kept falling off. The place was extremely hot and the air conditioner was sub par. The bed had stains on it and the chair was worn and ripped. Horrible place. Do your research and go somewhere else!!!!!

Staff are all very approachable and friendly and helpful. The towels are grey instead of white; sheets on the bed were threadbare; the carpet was dirty; the mattress was sagging; the bathroom sink had an odour, although the warer was clean and drinkable. It would be an okay facility if there were upgrades done to mattresses, sheets and towels.

The hotel looked old and lack of maintenance. Overpriced as I would be able to get better options with cheaper price. Cleanness of the room was also poor. I could still see hair on the bed, dirty floor, etc.

Needs more lighting in rooms. Air conditioner was noisy.

Did not smell good in lobby very musty odor. Exterior window in room is broken and will not close. Wall outlet came out of wall when i pulled plug. People outside smoking dope or roaming the parking lot. Hand soap in bathroom is empty. Reminds me of a old motel 6. No way this is 3 stars.

Not a bad place to spend a few unexpected extra days in Whitehorse (thanks Air Canada). Hotel was perfectly adequate and in a convenient location. Internet was terrible and walls were paper thin. Otherwise, no complaints.

Rooms by the lounge are very loud. Hard to sleep

Clean room, friendly staff. Clean room and good location. It seems the room was recently renovated but not completely finished. The hairdryer was in a drawer with the wall mount still attached, which seemed a bit odd. The phone charging port in the nightstand didn’t work properly. The bathroom mirror was placed too low — I’m 5’9” and had to squat to see my face. The rooms are not soundproof at all; you can clearly hear conversations from the next room. The hotel also had a noticeable smell, which was unpleasant. Additionally, I’m not sure why I was charged for an extra person when my reservation clearly stated two people. Overall, it felt a bit too expensive for what was offered.

The staff are unprofessional and lack basic comprehension of conversation. No room housekeeping service was made for my three-day stay at here. No elevator available. Noisy. Moldy bed sheet. Whitehorse is a small city so you can walk to most places within 30min. near supermarkets and Mcdonald's.

My room never got cleaned my whole stay. So my towels had to be conserved

Front desk guy, said i only booked one room and was no help. Found my reservation and still said well its not showing here and i can deal with hotels.com or get another. After again showing him he theb said oh its here.

Traveling from Anchorage. Great place to stay. Plenty of parking, super comfortable bed and pillows! The staff were friendly and helpful! Will definitely stay again when traveling through the area.

We tried to get a refund for the stay for the reasons listed and manger refused the refund. We booked the Hyatt Place to stay in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Front desk clerk did not go and look and handle the people in the front of hotel.

When we asked for more toiletries, we were given small bottles that were not enough for the three of us. I had hoped that the large bottles by the sink would be refilled. We had to ask to towels for the third party in our group twice.

Comfortable beds, pleasant staff. Area was not too nice to walk in- overly catering to drivers.

It’s not a new hotel, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. The restaurant in the hotel is good. The front staff friendly and helpful. You are a little removed from the downtown area, 10 minute walk, but are close to groceries and a pharmacy

We tried to get a refund for the stay for the reasons listed and manger refused the refund. We booked the Hyatt Place to stay in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I liked the TV service, clean room, bathroom needs modernization, tub had small rust holes in it, food a bit heavy in restaurant, but it was tasty, need more vegetarian options, staff in restaurant and in general was great.
