It was a good stay. The room was very clean and well maintained and had all the necessary items available. It also had Fridge, Microwave, Electric Kettle, TV, Wifi. There was ample space for parking and the room had a pleasant fragrance throughout. Would definitely recommend it.

Strong mildewy/smoke/stale smell, overwhelming. It was better after opening the bathroom window and running the AC in front. It was otherwise clean and comfortable. And the interior is quite acceptable with good hot shower etc. No elevator, not great if bringing luggage. Neighbor was outside her door, likely smoking. And of course this changes the air coming in through the AC. Parking convenient, office person efficient. Immediate neighborhood somewhat industrial, and no shops or restaurants until you go about a mile away to Sherbrooke? With such an initial smell, I might well have left. Much too far from the airport. Would have been better to pay more and stay close to the airport.

Très bien accueilli, chambre à l'étage propre et calme, bon emplacement avec bus au pied du motel et à 10min du 1er métro, très pratique pour visiter le centre de Montréal. Grand parking, 2 supermarchés (Maxi et Super C) et un Tim Hortons à proximité, c'est parfait !

Booked this property mainly because of the parking availability which is a huge plus. However, there is a bus stop right in front of the property and the metro is about a 18 minute walk. I didn’t want to drive my car downtown so I parked near the metro. Coffee/tea is offered in the mornings.

What an adorable little find! Rooms were clean and well appointed. Check in was friendly and seamless. Parking was ample and safe, being right in front of the main floor doors and all within view of the reception. This is a Motel type arrangement, with 2 floors. We asked for a main floor room and that's what we got. There is not much sound insulation between rooms or through door, so if noise bothers you, bring earplugs (I wasn't bothered at all by it). For the price, this was an exceptional find, especially the proximity to Concordia University and Bell Centre (10-15 minutes drive, even in traffic, and quite direct) and to a bunch of interesting businesses (restaurants including B12 Burgers, Souvenirs Sucrés and Monkland Croissants, all amazing as well as grocery stores and pharmacies) on nearby Sherbrooke St West. Room had a mini fridge, microwave and kettle. We booked a Twin room (2 Twin beds) which each had a light above them that could be turned on and off from bed. A lovely stay and we will definitely be back again soon!

The room pictured when I reserved was totally different to the room I got. This is an old style motel which has had a superficial renovation. Our room on the ground floor smelled of old cigarette smoke. No other rooms were available and my toddler was exhausted (it was 10pm), so we stayed anyway. Front desk said I must have a really sensitive nose and gave me a can of Lysol air freshener. They also told me to make sure my car was well locked, which isn’t the most encouraging parting message. The place was generally clean with basics provided, but the mattress was boxy, the pillows are pancakes, and the synthetic bedspread had no cover, only the flat sheet. We could hear coughing and showering through the thin walls. And around 11pm some geniuses parked their car right alongside our door for over 30 minutes with the motor running, all doors open, smoking, talking and playing music. This place is ok as a budget option if you know what you are getting and make an informed choice. But for the price we paid as a last minute booking, I could have gone with a chain hotel and had a more relaxing night with my small child. Don’t be misled by the pictures.

Property is in commercial area. Not many stores/restaurants in immediate area. Insulation is lacking in Motel, and it is quite noisy. Not a single USB plug in the room, so one must bring charging blocks in order to charge phone/tablet. Bed quite hard and worn down. Friendly staff.

I booked their standard room. I went through reviews of many places in this prices range and I wanted a place close to downtown. Although this place was slightly away it was easily accessible 20mins by bus. The bus stop is right in front of the property. The check-in was soo smooth. Room was very spacious and clean. It had all the amenities and everything was in working condition. They give complimentary coffee at the reception but since I had brought my own coffee, they gave me microwavable cups to make my own coffee. My ride back to Toronto was at 11.30pm in the night so they even let me keep my bags in the reception until I had to leave. We roamed around in the city and came back to grab our bags. Some people had mentioned that this place can be some what noisy at night.. I assure you, there aren't any. The windows are double sheild or whatever you call it so i did not hear a thing. Plus i kept the washroom exhaust on so it helped cancel out other sounds..We will definitely be back for our next trip to Montreal!

Loved my stay here! The room itself was exactly as pictured, very clean and modern. Room had tv with tons of channels, a table and chairs, fridge, and a microwave. Water was hot with good pressure. Toiletries include ‘conditioning shampoo’ and bar soap which is good for washing your hands but bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Double bed had 4 pillows. Like the other reviews say it is very loud, you can hear everyone in the rooms around you. It didnt bother us, we were making noise ourselves and when it was time to sleep we just put on the tv to drown out the other noises. If that’s a problem just bring earplugs! Would stay here again.

The room was nice and VERY clean, cleaner than I expected for a motel. The shower stall was a little small but it’s perfectly fine for a normal-sized person. The bed was clean and didn’t stink like bleach. The floor was so clean that this was the first motel I’ve ever been in where I felt comfortable not wearing shoes. The toilet paper was nice and thick, not that awful public restroom toilet paper. My only complaint is that the walls are about as thin as that aforementioned public restroom toilet paper, and you can hear pretty much anything going on in neighboring rooms. However, I did not hear anything from upstairs which was good.

I was impressed with this hotel. The rooms look recently renovated and quite clean. Comfortable m quiet and safe. The a/c, microwave & mini frig all worked well. Wifi was quite fast. Highly recommend since this is motel is a higher standard.

Nice & clean. Helpful staff. They allowed my freezer packs to be put in their office freezer (no freezer compartment in the room fridge). The room was dark (the walls painted with a dark brown colour). I could here conversation through the wall from the next room so not very sound proof. The free parking was a big attraction considering it is on the island of Montreal

The room was very large with comfy beds which was great for our first nights in Montreal and Canada. The staff were very helpful and professional pre-arrival, on check-in and during our stay. Some of the info they sent through about the area was a little out of date, e.g. the close restaurant had shut several months earlier. The area felt safe if a little run-down in places including on the road of the hotel. It was further away from downtown etc, but really that is a failure of our research in not understanding this and it wasn't a major issue in the end. Overall it was a good choice for our first nights in Canada. Comfortable, fairly priced and with helpful staff.

When you look from the outside it’s just a typical motel but when you go in you will wow there is a fridge with freezer, microwave, flat TV, air conditioner is quite. Washroom has towels, shampoo, conditioner & body lotion. Two pieces of soap and even a hair dryer.

My three-day visit recently was mostly positive. The staff in the office were very friendly, courteous and helpful. My room was comfortable and very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. And there was plenty of free parking available. I found the bathroom to be quite small, but this is just my own taste; most people wouldn't care. But I prefer a large sink and large mirror for when I am preparing to go out. The mirror was placed too low for tall people, so I had to bend my knees sometimes to see what I was doing. There was a large jacuzzi tub in the room, but I would have given it up to have a larger bathroom. Again, this is just my personal preference. On my last night there, I was awakened at 1:45 a.m. by noisy guests in the room above mine, who were talking loudly and walking around a lot. I think the rooms should have signs in them asking guests to keep the noise levels down after 10 p.m. Lastly, my car was damaged in the parking lot, although this was completely not the fault of the motel -- just some inconsiderate driver. But now I have a big repair bill to pay. Other than those last two incidents, I enjoyed my stay at Auberge St. Jacques and would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

But I prefer a large sink and large mirror for when I am preparing to go out. The mirror was placed too low for tall people, so I had to bend my knees sometimes to see what I was doing. There was a large jacuzzi tub in the room, but I would have given it up to have a larger bathroom. Again, this is just my personal preference. On my last night there, I was awakened at 1:45 a.m. by noisy guests in the room above mine, who were talking loudly and walking around a lot. I think the rooms should have signs in them asking guests to keep the noise levels down after 10 p.m. Lastly, my car was damaged in the parking lot, although this was completely not the fault of the motel -- just some inconsiderate driver. But now I have a big repair bill to pay. Other than those last two incidents, I enjoyed my stay at Auberge St. Jacques and would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Staff are nice enough but they asked for a $200 deposit "that should be refunded in 5 days if there is no damage to the room" after I had already paid for and reserved the room through Expedia. The walls are paper thin. I heard every word of the guy next door including his tv, his phone calls, and his regular habit of clearing his throat and spitting. Nice. I could not sleep because of this noise and because all I could feel from the bed was springs in my side. The heater comes on occasionally with such a loud banging noise I practically jumped each time it came on. I will say the shower worked and there was hot water so that part was good. The rest was really bad. I will never visit this place again and it\'s location is perfect for my needs.

We did not like this property as staff is unable to understand and provide information in other language than French. They keep charging extra for no reason. There was only half toilet paper for 4 adults in the room. Linens were not cleaned up-to standard. Overall, poor quality of service.

What an adorable little find! Rooms were clean and well appointed. Check in was friendly and seamless. Parking was ample and safe, being right in front of the main floor doors and all within view of the reception. This is a Motel type arrangement, with 2 floors. We asked for a main floor room and that's what we got. There is not much sound insulation between rooms or through door, so if noise bothers you, bring earplugs (I wasn't bothered at all by it). For the price, this was an exceptional find, especially the proximity to Concordia University and Bell Centre (10-15 minutes drive, even in traffic, and quite direct) and to a bunch of interesting businesses (restaurants including B12 Burgers, Souvenirs Sucrés and Monkland Croissants, all amazing as well as grocery stores and pharmacies) on nearby Sherbrooke St West. Room had a mini fridge, microwave and kettle. We booked a Twin room (2 Twin beds) which each had a light above them that could be turned on and off from bed. A lovely stay and we will definitely be back again soon!

A bit of a shock on arrival Apart from the language barrier from the agent, there was nothing wrong with the stay. Room was clean & comfortable. The bed was very cozy. I booked their standard room. I went through reviews of many places in this prices range and I wanted a place close to downtown. Although this place was slightly away it was easily accessible 20mins by bus. The bus stop is right in front of the property. The check-in was soo smooth. Room was very spacious and clean. It had all the amenities and everything was in working condition. They give complimentary coffee at the reception but since I had brought my own coffee, they gave me microwavable cups to make my own coffee. My ride back to Toronto was at 11.30pm in the night so they even let me keep my bags in the reception until I had to leave. We roamed around in the city and came back to grab our bags. Some people had mentioned that this place can be some what noisy at night.. I assure you, there aren't any. The windows are double sheild or whatever you call it so i did not hear a thing. Plus i kept the washroom exhaust on so it helped cancel out other sounds..We will definitely be back for our next trip to Montreal!

Tucked away a little far from downtown but that's no issue, bus stops are right outside and there's lots of parking for your vehicle. Close by to grocery stores/restaurants. Rooms were updated and comfy!

Très bien accueilli, chambre à l'étage propre et calme, bon emplacement avec bus au pied du motel et à 10min du 1er métro, très pratique pour visiter le centre de Montréal. Grand parking, 2 supermarchés (Maxi et Super C) et un Tim Hortons à proximité, c'est parfait !

Booked this property mainly because of the parking availability which is a huge plus. However, there is a bus stop right in front of the property and the metro is about a 18 minute walk. I didn’t want to drive my car downtown so I parked near the metro. Coffee/tea is offered in the mornings.

Excellent place to stay. Not too close and not too far from the city/downtown. Convenient location. Bus stop is right by the hotel so you can go out drinking and not worry about driving home. Room was clean and I found the interior to be slightly classy. Very affordable would stay again

This place was clean and compact. Compact microwave, fridge to store food and drinks. Friendly staff, nice morning coffee to your liking. Premises looks clean too. Nice free car park. If they provide simple breakfast will be a great place to stay since there is no fast food place nearby for morning breakfast. My rating is excellent.

Good transit service in the area. The rooms have definitely been renovated in the recent past and are nice and modern. A fridge and microwave are available in all rooms, which is good and there isn't really anywhere to get food within walking distance.

The property inside was very clean and updated. Amenities inside the room were in excellent condition. Area was quiet and my only complaint would be the noisy footsteps from above rooms. Also there were not many options to buy drinks and snacks on the property except for a vending machine which only took coins or bills. But there was a neighbourhood nearby that had a convenience store and superb Italian Boulangerie and an antique coffee shop I highly recommend! Taking transit to downtown Montreal was very easy to navigate and a short train ride. Returning late in the evening was not a problem as we felt very safe walking in this neighbourhood.

Motel has been very nicely renovated. I was very pleased with the shape of the rooms. Not much for places to eat around it was my only complaint but I knew I wasn't going to be eating much there. Uber eats always works if you're dining in the room.

So first of all - mad props for everything this place does much better than other places. Air conditioner is the best I've ever seen in hotels, virtually quiet. The room was in a very good shape, clean. Blackout shades on the window. There was even a soap dish! (the dish wasn't good, but try finding a good one in Canada) They clearly made an effort to improve the place at some point and they did very well. That said, the stuff they couldn't easily fix is still there - noise isolation is poor (got woken up by some neighbor turning their water on in the bathroom and generally can hear people), layout isn't great for accessing rooms on the 2nd floor, and location is auto shops zone which in Quebec can look like scrapyard (if you decide to try walking around). Stuff that they could fix and would make place actively better - toilets that consider male anotomy and bigger table in the room (the existing one is barely a shelf).
