Hotel needs a refresh. They have air fresheners in hallway and in room which is unusual. Pool is not open. Gym is dark and old. Needs new equipment. Breakfast is the usual buffet. Everyone who we spoke to was very nice and helpful. This would not of been my first pick for hotels but options are very limited in the area.

The only negative thing I have to say about my stay is that the pool was empty. I booked this hotel because there was an outdoor pool that we were looking forward to enjoying.

Great experience, friendly staff, excellent continental breakfast options and clean environment. However, parking options were limited. The parking spaces are not marked by lines. Therefore, people end up parking in two spaces limiting parking options for other customers.

One of the reasons we picked this hotel was because it had a pool. WELL…they had a pool locked inside a wooden fence that was bone dry! The area if you looked in was dirty with toppled over chairs. As it was August, I was very upset that they advertised a pool when it obviously has not been open all summer. The room itself was clean but the hotel was in poor repair.

Our stay was just “okay”. The hotel location was great to see the national park. The staff was super friendly. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the two king size beds. Breakfast needed a few more options.. bagels or a drink machine. The water machine broke while we were there. There were spiders in our room, dust and cobwebs. The pool was broken and the hotel offered NO reimbursement for that. They said the maintenance guy died three years ago and haven’t found another to fix it since! Hotels.com never stated that on the website when booking nor did the hotel offer that info when I called inquiring about our stay. My kids were so disappointed. The tv was a little messed up and blurry. Just a heads up!!

There was a Dank mildew smell in the room. I took an oil air freshener out of the hallway and brought it in The room to mask the smell. We only stayed one night and this was the best stay of all our stays in the state. The front desk member was a married younger than me(47) woman and is to be commended for her service and hospitality. She was a delight and glad to advise us on things to do and best ways to get places. Just a very nice woman.

The sheets were stained. Room was dirty. Borrowed broom from front desk and swept up bathroom floor. Carpet was dirty with food crumbs, dirt and bobby pins. Asked for room to be vacuumed and it was not done!

Breakfast was good. Only plus. Room had mold in the rim of the sink. No drain stoppers in sink or tub. Crack from water damage above shower. Spider and bug in the bathroom. Overall, this place needs to be renovated. I have pictures if you want to see them. Would not stay here again.

Decent breakfast. Eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy, breads, etc. Room was clean but one bedspread had dark smears on it and we had to get another. Ac worked well, quiet, strong chemical smell in hallways. Laundry facilities out of order, only one working ice machine on first floor. Pillows were small squares, not normal pillows. Staff was friendly and helpfull.

Overall the room was nice and outdated. The bed was comfortable, and being was clean and the showers were hot. The room could use a deep cleaning, the vent was covered in dust and you could see dirt build up in the corners of the bathroom flooring. The staff were very kind and the breakfast was decent. We were on the 1st floor and the creaking floors above were obnoxious when trying to fall asleep and stay asleep it is very loud sounding.

There were ants in our room. Not able to trace their origin, but consistently found throughout our stay. The website advertised a pool which has apparently not been open for over a year. Solid hotel for a one night stay with kids. They loved the breakfast. Everything was clean and fairly comfortable. The one weird thing was that the window curtains don't cover the window, there is only a sheer curtain to block out the light. So we pinned them together - we weren't the first. Bring a safety pin!

Was there on business in Beckley and some pleasures. Hotel was inviting. Room was great(double king)! Beds very comfortable , flat screened tv, microwave and full sized fridge. There was even a clothes closet! Breakfast(full)was always hot and ready. I had no issues at all! Staff was always available and courteous. Walmart, fast food and grocery shopping were two minutes away. I would definitely recommend and stay again. The only down fall for summer guest is the pool has been out of service for years or more. I was going to book Family Reunion there but had to look elsewhere because there was no pool! Please get the pool fixed!

Room HVAC was old style under-window unit that has blower run all the time when using for AC or heat. No thermostat, Crude temperature setting, was hard to get comfort level, and constant fan tends to make me a bit sick.

The air conditioning was really loud and luke cool at best. The tub didnt drain so you ended up standing in ankle deep water and the bathroom fan did not work. We did go to the front desk and they gave us a plunger for the tub and told us to turn the AC down to 67! (We already had it set at 68.) We did check out a day early and no refund was given.

The rooms are very small. The bathroom especially. The beds are comfortable and linens soft. Breakfast was not what I was expecting, not much to choose from and coffee was very weak. All in all being in oak hill we it was about the only hotel I saw.

This property is nice but it is right on a very noisy highway. Fortunately the ac/heat drowned out the road noise. The staff were very helpful & the breakfast was good. The property is very convenient/close to New River Gorge National Park.

Was on a road trip with a buddy.. just wanted a receipt for the night when checking out.. the lady was rude and would not even tell me what I paid for the night before.. no manager to be found! Had to call the corporate office just to find out how much they charged my credit card! 😡

Our stay for our bike group riding to see the New River Gorge Bridge had a great time... Audrea and Susan at the front desk were awesome! We had a issue with one of the bikers being broke down and they helped us out getting set up for another stay that was not in the plans.. Thank you! We will stay again when we go back that way!

My check in was less than ideal. The desk person was on the phone while checking me in. The were complaining about another employee letting me know about their scheduling and manpower issues. I manage people from age 18-65 at work and also teach at my side gig. Not only are there simple answers to all these problems your customers should NEVER hear about employee issues unless it is impacting the customer at that time. Other than that my stay was good . My bathroom smelled of mildew but was otherwise clean organized and in good condition w comfy bed.

We needed a one night stay because we were going to hike the new river Gorge the next day they’re only about 10 minutes away so it’s in a good location. The only issue we had was they were almost overbooked at the hotel, and when she gave us our room key, it was to the right room but somebody was already in that room that she initially gave us so we had to go back downstairs and get a different key and a different room. Luckily they still had a room for us. I don’t know if it was because they had a big storm here a few days ago and a lot of electrical out outage so I guess that’s why it was so crowded with people , but other than that the room was nice the lobby was nice. Breakfast was good would stay again.

The sink faucet was barely attached, the shower spray was barely functioning and the tiling/grouting in front of the toilet were missing. And when we requested housecleaning, with assurance that it would be done that day, we came back to a hotel room filled with garbage (the size of the trash cans is insufficient) and no clean towels. But perhaps most concerning was an open bible in the lobby by with regional map to signal that the owner / manager is more focused on Christian evangelism in a secular society rather than keeping this aging building operational. On the bright side, the beds/pillows are excellent, the hotel is quite quiet and the breakfasts are terrific value.

Very convenient for New River Gorge, about 5 minutes away and just off main highway. Room was spacious, clean, good wifi. Only comment on tv was, though very nice large screen, cable was not HD. Free breakfast was good and all staff very nice.

This property is nice but it is right on a very noisy highway. Fortunately the ac/heat drowned out the road noise. The staff were very helpful & the breakfast was good. The property is very convenient/close to New River Gorge National Park.

The Breakfast offered left much to be desired. Actual hot oatmeal would have been nice - not just instant. Actual OJ, not some orange colored drink.

The hotel could use updates. Pool not working d/ t no maintenance. Hotel staff were very pleasant and attentive. The breakfast was not good. Pastries were still frozen when placed out, eggs were cold and runny. They ran out of coffee both days we stayed! There was absolutely no one running the breakfast bar. The juice machines were also broken and with no maintenance man to fix!

8:40am Sat morning, hot breakfast completely closed down and done. Sorry we are out said Frankie, on duty mgr. A/C unit knobs broken in unit, nothing can do except put a chair in front to change air direction.

I mistakenly booked the wrong night without buying the travel protection. I immediately contacted the hotel through the third party booking agency after noticing my mistake (within 2 minutes of confirming), and they refused to issue any type of credit or refund. They charged me the full $140. I would completely understand if I had to incur a penalty for the mistake on my part, but in my opinion, as a small business owner, to keep the full amount for a stay that never occurred is unethical and immoral. I’m simply writing this review so that future guests have an idea what type of management and/or ownership group operates the hotel where they will be staying if they choose this Comfort Inn. Buyer beware

Descent place VERY close to New River Gorge. We booked because of location and I would probably book there again. Everyone was so nice & friendly! Parking was easy. Breakfast was ok- but this is not a high end chain. I thought it was good. I had juice, waffles, readymade omelets and bacon. There was lots more & the person restocking was really making sure nothing ran out. Our room smelled like smoke- even though it was smoke free. We were able to open the window which helped. AC ran well. Beds were comfy in our room and had lots of pillows.

Overall, the stay good. The staff was nice and gave us good information on the area.However, they mentioned a pool in the advertisement yet there was no pool open. Don’t bring your bathing suit.
