Eado Houston Home, Walk to Convention Center!

Our family needed accommodations near the convention center, and we could make the brief walk without a problem. We did have an issue with the property, but it should be noted that the property manager was responsive and helpful.The property has three levels; the bottom and top floors have bedrooms, and the middle floor has double doors that open to an outdoor Juliet balcony. After the first night of our stay, we came down to the middle floor, surprised that the double doors were wide open. We assumed we had neglected to lock the doors, so we locked and bolted them the next morning when we left. Upon returning to the property a few hours later, we noticed the doors were again open! Even with the latch and bolt in place, the wind had blown the doors open. This left our family feeling unsettled regarding the security of the property. We pushed two chairs against the door and had no further issues. The property manager reviewed security footage for us and also told us of plans to have the door issue addressed.

We attended a college baseball tournament at Daikin (Minute Maid) Stadium. Our rental was an easy 15 minute walk through the beautiful Discovery Green Park area. On the east side, where the rental was located, there were great breweries, restaurants , bar-grills and outdoor spaces. The rental is an easy walk to the convention center, Daikin, and Shell Energy Stadium, home of the Dynamo Soccer team. The rental was 3 levels. 2 flights of stairs - not the best for little kids, but we managed. The main middle level was really nice for a group. Plenty of space to gather and be together. Beautiful view of downtown from the balcony/picture windows. Main bedroom was beautiful-top floor. The other 2 bedrooms were on the bottom level. These rooms were spacious but needed a little updating. Very usable, just not as nice as the other 2 levels. Some things that we wish had been a little better:better stocked kitchen - very minimal spices/basics. No paper towels. One kitchen trash bag. Very little utinsils to eat with. One thing beyond the control of the location is that it is on a pretty busy street. The upper bedroom and one of the lower ones were on the street side. It was very loud even late at night and early in the morning. We used white noise and it was fine. We would definitely go back.

The home is large and the beds are comfortable, but the Wi-Fi was spotty and there were some issues with the showers.

The property was nice just a little inconvenience upon check in but it was fixed right away.

I stayed for 3 days with 2 colleagues for the PPIM exhibition, the location is convenient for the George R. Brown Convention Centre.
