We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights with some family. The hotel is slightly out of the main centre of Ubud, but the hotel provide a regular shuttle bus free of charge and taxis are very reasonably priced. We booked the ‘basic’ room which was great, plenty of room and very well equipped with everything you’d expect and more. The hotel is fairly small but has all the facilities you need, spa, pool, bar, restaurant etc. We had breakfast included which was very good, with plenty of choice from the menu. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and attentive. I’d certainly recommend this hotel.

Sankara was in the perfect location not too far from the action. This is near monkey forest downtown where there are local bars and restaurants and the hotel offers free shuttle service p/u & drop off. The room was beautiful we stayed nothing too fancy but the bathroom was huge, only thing is the shower didn't drain as fast as it should. Our last night I surprised my husband with an upgrade to a private 1bd villa w/ private pool which the staff helped me surprise him. Omg it was breathetaking. The infinity pool by the bar was a nice touch. The staff was friendly always asking how our day was and what we were doing for the day. They were accommodating whenever we needed to cancel dinner or plchange pickup time from shuttle p/u. The only con is we weren't big on the breakfast. Don't know if it's a con but it just seemed really bland. It wasn't the end of the world bc we started going out for breakfast.

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool the spa and the restaurant was fantastic. There was a small mistake; massage charged to our account that we did not receive. Once we noticed they were happy to refund and the money was returned straight away, they were very apologetic. The grounds were so beautiful. We went in off season so it was very quiet. There is a fantastic restaurant just up the street called ‘sacred rice’ it was also amazing. Would recommend. Would return :)

The pool is small, but it is surrounded by plenty of plants and is quiet and relaxing. There is a private shuttle in the center of Ubud, and if you book on whats app an hour before the scheduled time, they will pick you up and drop you off for free. The journey takes about 20 minutes. They are flexible with private tours and the price is reasonable. Recommended for a quiet and private trip. The Japanese website says that yoga activities start at 7.00am, but it was actually 8.00am, so it's better to check in advance.

We just stayed for 8 nights at the Sankara for our honeymoon and absolutely loved everything about it. To start, we had a one bedroom pool villa (Bima) that was gorgeous. It had the perfect amount of privacy and comfort. The cleaning staff were great and made our room like new each and every day. The staff were excellent. Always greeting as we came in and out without missing a beat making sure we had everything we needed. 2 staff members we’d like to point out are Ronney and Roseana. Ronney is a driver and he was the best. He showed us around all the local food spots, the cultural places and also some fun places Bali has to offer. He was with us the whole time taking pictures and taught us a lot about the Bali culture. Thanks Ronney!! Roseana was a masseuse and she gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. I recommend the spa. It was worth every dollar. Bar drinks were great, the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. We give the Sankara a 10/10. Thanks for having us and making our honeymoon as amazing as it was!

This Spa hotel is excellent. Sadly next door hotel is being rebuilt so weekday 9-5 is very noisy at front of hotel. The spa is excellent, the food is good and it is not the hotel’s fault about the neighbour hotel rebuild programme. I am lucky as I’m now in a villa away from the builders and no longer hear them. Be clear when you book if you plan to be in the hotel during weekday daytime you can deal with the noise.

The place was very accommodating when we needed to abruptly change our schedule there. We had a villa with a pool that was very private and very refreshing after a day hiking around Bali. They did not explain their shuttle service correctly. Be aware that it only goes on the schedule printed and if you want to get picked up in the center of Uber, you still have to notify them. It’s really not a regularly scheduled shuttle. Also there is loud construction next-door with drilling and hammering until 9 PM but hopefully this will be completed soon. It only affected the restaurant (very good food and good cultural dancing), the rooms themselves were quite quiet.

Very good stay with fantastic staff. Very friendly and always there to help you in any kind. Currently there is construction ongoing next to the hotel which is noisy during the day. Restaurant offers great dining experience with live music.

Construction noise is constant and I would not have booked had I known this. You can’t at pool and enjoy without hearing major construction happening on both sides. Resort itself is fine. Room was large, bed was fine. Staff was very kind and very attentive . Breakfast was very good. Lunch choices were just ok. You are about 15 min from city center on a Grab bike. My main problem is that if you are expecting a serene setting for your Bali trip this is not it for a while.

Det gode: Fantastisk søde mennesker og god service - ud over det normale! Placeringen af hotellet er fint og shuttle service fungerer upåklageligt. Plads til forbedring: Hotellet og vores villa kunne godt bruge noget opdatering og vedligehold. Derudover kunne rengøring mv. også være en smule bedre, men det er også svært når det er ved at være lidt “træt”. Yoga var aflyst 2 ud af vores 4 dage, og eftersom det var en af de ting vi havde set frem til, er det er stort minus. Det er noget af det, som hotellet slår sig op på. Restauranten var nogenlunde og morgenmad generelt god.

Some of them even spoke to us in Japanese, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The room was spacious with a great view, and they replenished the mineral water and fruit every day. The food at the restaurant was not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious! I truly want to visit again. The only downside was that I found a band-aid stuck to the floor in the room, which was a bit unfortunate. However, it was such a fantastic experience that it hardly mattered. The stay went acceptable. The staff are friendly and helpful, definitely showing hospitality. While the hotel appears to have a very nice view, surrounded by trees and nature, the room itself seems to need some repair. We were greeted by a clogging sink. The air inside the room also smells moldy, which made the stay in the room uncomfortable. There is visible mold on the curtain of the bathroom. We also found somebody else's sock in the gap between the two mattresses. The room can definitely use more light fixtures as well.

The Sankara property is beautiful in terms of views, gardens, and pools. The staff was always very friendly. There is room for improvement in terms of some of the facilities - all of the chairs in the restaurant were stained as well as some of the furniture in the rooms. The sink was clogged and the shower barely got hot with poor water pressure. There is also a lot of construction around the area, and there is a pool club right beside the resort. Therefore, it is quite noisy during the day. Overall I would not choose to stay there again - your money would go farther elsewhere considering how expensive it is.
The Sankara property is beautiful in terms of views, gardens, and pools. The staff was always very friendly. We left yesterday and I miss the place already :( The staff (front reception, kitchen, housekeeping, garden maintenance, pool guy) so very warm and friendly! The place is tranquil and relaxing with everything you need there, a quaint little coffee shop and humble laundromat are just across the street. The breakfast is 5 a la carte choices of American, continental, Indonesian, Indian and healthy hippy. My husband and I will definitely be back! Thank you so much Sankara staff for making our wedding anniversary so special We stayed in the villa with private pool, which was maintained and cleaned to perfection everyday, the fruit basket was replenished daily too.

Das Hotel hat einen wunderschönen tropischen Garten. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und sehr sauber und bei Ankunft sehr schön hergerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das servierte Frühstück war sehr gut. Am Pool sind aber zu wenige Liegen, wenn alle Gäste am Nachmittag von den Ausflügen zurückkommen. Insgesamt ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sollten in nächster Zeit mal renoviert werden. Hinzukommt, dass nebenan eine riesige Baustelle ist, auf der morgens ab 9:00 gearbeitet wird. Wir haben aber nicht viel davon mitbekommen, da wir den ganzen Tag unterwegs waren. Und unser Zimmer lag ganz hinten in der Anlage. Direkt daneben war eine große Paddelhalle, in der bis 22:00 gespielt wurde, was man auch im Zimmer hörte. Unser großer Balkon ging aber in den Garten.

Very noisy and felt unsafe. There was no lift so had to climb up and down many steps with my bad knee. Got scared to a big gacko outside my room. Lots of mosquitoes. Food was good, staff helpful. The Sankara Resort & Spa was a nice quaint resort. While it was in the jungle, it was misleading on the Expedia website when it was said it was only 34 minutes away from the Bali International Airport. That is completely false. It was an hour and a half drive away from the hotel. Next the room was satisfactory and as advertised; however, there was a stale/moldy smell inside the room. I'm not sure how old the establishment is or their general maintenance of the place, but that made it somewhat uneasy to breathe at times. The staff were absolutely amazing and very accommodating. They did everything they possibly could to make sure you were happy and satisfied. The spa service was a little too costly, but my discount was applied to my bill since it was offered when I booked on Expedia. Overall my stay was pleasant and amenable. I would stay there again, but it would be nice to see some upgrades in decor and in the upkeep of the place even though it was very clean from beginning to end. Slightly noisy though due to construction next door and also the other upstairs guests weren't being very neighborly.

We asked to change the room but it was not possible for two sleepless nights. We set an appointment with the manager, but the person did not come for the appointment. Sankara was in the perfect location not too far from the action. This is near monkey forest downtown where there are local bars and restaurants and the hotel offers free shuttle service p/u & drop off. The room was beautiful we stayed nothing too fancy but the bathroom was huge, only thing is the shower didn't drain as fast as it should. Our last night I surprised my husband with an upgrade to a private 1bd villa w/ private pool which the staff helped me surprise him. Omg it was breathetaking. The infinity pool by the bar was a nice touch. The staff was friendly always asking how our day was and what we were doing for the day. They were accommodating whenever we needed to cancel dinner or plchange pickup time from shuttle p/u. The only con is we weren't big on the breakfast. Don't know if it's a con but it just seemed really bland. It wasn't the end of the world bc we started going out for breakfast.

We just stayed for 8 nights at the Sankara for our honeymoon and absolutely loved everything about it. To start, we had a one bedroom pool villa (Bima) that was gorgeous. It had the perfect amount of privacy and comfort. The cleaning staff were great and made our room like new each and every day. The staff were excellent. Always greeting as we came in and out without missing a beat making sure we had everything we needed. 2 staff members we’d like to point out are Ronney and Roseana. Ronney is a driver and he was the best. He showed us around all the local food spots, the cultural places and also some fun places Bali has to offer. He was with us the whole time taking pictures and taught us a lot about the Bali culture. Thanks Ronney!! Roseana was a masseuse and she gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. I recommend the spa. It was worth every dollar. Bar drinks were great, the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. We give the Sankara a 10/10. Thanks for having us and making our honeymoon as amazing as it was!

The Sankara property is beautiful in terms of views, gardens, and pools. The staff was always very friendly. There is room for improvement in terms of some of the facilities - all of the chairs in the restaurant were stained as well as some of the furniture in the rooms. The sink was clogged and the shower barely got hot with poor water pressure. There is also a lot of construction around the area, and there is a pool club right beside the resort. Therefore, it is quite noisy during the day. Overall I would not choose to stay there again - your money would go farther elsewhere considering how expensive it is.

Das Hotel hat einen wunderschönen tropischen Garten. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und sehr sauber und bei Ankunft sehr schön hergerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das servierte Frühstück war sehr gut. Am Pool sind aber zu wenige Liegen, wenn alle Gäste am Nachmittag von den Ausflügen zurückkommen. Insgesamt ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer sollten in nächster Zeit mal renoviert werden. Hinzukommt, dass nebenan eine riesige Baustelle ist, auf der morgens ab 9:00 gearbeitet wird. Wir haben aber nicht viel davon mitbekommen, da wir den ganzen Tag unterwegs waren. Und unser Zimmer lag ganz hinten in der Anlage. The resort itself was beautiful. The food they served there was amazing as well. The employees were all kind and helpful and accommodating. We had a deluxe pool villa but did not feel maximum privacy due to where it was on the main walking path.

A very quiet and serene atmosphere. Breakfast options were amazing. We were very shocked, as a small Group of friends, that there was no door or privacy between the bathroom and bedroom. The air con has to stay on full the whole time due to the heat and it was very very loud making it impossible to sleep.

I paid cash during my stay on the last day I asked them to just charge my last meals to the room when I tried checking out they refused to let me leave and said I owed lots of money. I didn’t know what to do so I just gave them my card and they charged it then said they didn’t get that payment either my bank said they did get it I almost missed my flight and had to have money sent from my family. If you stay here just keep receipts if paying cash. Also the resort is very far out and there’s construction next door. Overall a beautiful resort but some scamming or miscommunication with the rupiah and employees

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool the spa and the restaurant was fantastic. There was a small mistake; massage charged to our account that we did not receive. Once we noticed they were happy to refund and the money was returned straight away, they were very apologetic. The grounds were so beautiful. We went in off season so it was very quiet. There is a fantastic restaurant just up the street called ‘sacred rice’ it was also amazing. Would recommend. Would return :)

We stayed at Sankara for 4 days. Pros: Super comfortable deluxe room, great pool, good food, good massages, free shuttle to ubud center Cons: 1. Breakfast was good but wasn't unlimited. I know it's not buffet but guests should be able to order a few extras. I was charged for extra eggs twice. 2. Food was expensive with 20% extra charges. Portion size was small for steaks and chicken 3. No taxis can enter the property if you want to go to places other than ubud center which means you are forced to either walk outside to look for a taxi (which is confusing) or ask Sankara reception who would charge you 4 times the actual price. The staff wasn't helpful in this regards. 4.There was no prayer mat on the property which is shocking considering Indonesia is a muslim country- can't pray on a dirty yoga mat. Summary: Overall the stay was good but the resort was expensive and customer service was average.

I rarely leave reviews, but felt that with the two week experience that we had, we needed to share. The staff were highly hospitable, accommodating, attentive, courteous, friendly, and honest. The grounds and amenities were impeccable and the service was above anything we have ever experienced as an annual traveler. The hotel shuttle and transportation to and from the airport were timely. The tours that the hotel provided were reasonably priced and well put together. We look forward to coming back again one day.

I had a wonderful stay at the Sankara resort. It was a great experience provided from the staff from check-in through my check-out. Every staff at all the facilities were great as well. Everyone is always cheerful and never missed a smile or a hello. It was very well maimtained property and the staff made you feel welcomed everytime I came back from my day out. I would stay there again and recommend it for anyone staying in Ubud.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights with some family. The hotel is slightly out of the main centre of Ubud, but the hotel provide a regular shuttle bus free of charge and taxis are very reasonably priced. We booked the ‘basic’ room which was great, plenty of room and very well equipped with everything you’d expect and more. The hotel is fairly small but has all the facilities you need, spa, pool, bar, restaurant etc. We had breakfast included which was very good, with plenty of choice from the menu. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and attentive. I’d certainly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful property. We had a pool villa which was well worth it. Only downside is some construction noise from neighboring property (wasn’t too bad, just a bit noticeable) but not the fault of SANKARA. A few good restaurants close to the resort. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The Sankara Resort was more than we expected. So quiet , peaceful, clean, the staff was amazing. Very conveniently located. We found some amazing Restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend it and will stay again when we are in Ubud again.

Construction noise is constant and I would not have booked had I known this. You can’t at pool and enjoy without hearing major construction happening on both sides. Resort itself is fine. Room was large, bed was fine. Staff was very kind and very attentive . Breakfast was very good. Lunch choices were just ok. You are about 15 min from city center on a Grab bike. My main problem is that if you are expecting a serene setting for your Bali trip this is not it for a while.
Construction noise is constant and I would not have booked had I known this. You can’t at pool and enjoy without hearing major construction happening on both sides. Resort itself is fine. Room was large, bed was fine. Staff was very kind and very attentive . Breakfast was very good. Lunch choices were just ok. You are about 15 min from city center on a Grab bike. My main problem is that if you are expecting a serene setting for your Bali trip this is not it for a while.

Sankara was in the perfect location not too far from the action. This is near monkey forest downtown where there are local bars and restaurants and the hotel offers free shuttle service p/u & drop off. The room was beautiful we stayed nothing too fancy but the bathroom was huge, only thing is the shower didn't drain as fast as it should. Our last night I surprised my husband with an upgrade to a private 1bd villa w/ private pool which the staff helped me surprise him. Omg it was breathetaking. The infinity pool by the bar was a nice touch. The staff was friendly always asking how our day was and what we were doing for the day. They were accommodating whenever we needed to cancel dinner or plchange pickup time from shuttle p/u. The only con is we weren't big on the breakfast. Don't know if it's a con but it just seemed really bland. It wasn't the end of the world bc we started going out for breakfast.

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool the spa and the restaurant was fantastic. There was a small mistake; massage charged to our account that we did not receive. Once we noticed they were happy to refund and the money was returned straight away, they were very apologetic. The grounds were so beautiful. We went in off season so it was very quiet. There is a fantastic restaurant just up the street called ‘sacred rice’ it was also amazing. Would recommend. Would return :)

We just stayed for 8 nights at the Sankara for our honeymoon and absolutely loved everything about it. To start, we had a one bedroom pool villa (Bima) that was gorgeous. It had the perfect amount of privacy and comfort. The cleaning staff were great and made our room like new each and every day. The staff were excellent. Always greeting as we came in and out without missing a beat making sure we had everything we needed. 2 staff members we’d like to point out are Ronney and Roseana. Ronney is a driver and he was the best. He showed us around all the local food spots, the cultural places and also some fun places Bali has to offer. He was with us the whole time taking pictures and taught us a lot about the Bali culture. Thanks Ronney!! Roseana was a masseuse and she gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. I recommend the spa. It was worth every dollar. Bar drinks were great, the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. We give the Sankara a 10/10. Thanks for having us and making our honeymoon as amazing as it was!

We stayed at Sankara for 4 days. Pros: Super comfortable deluxe room, great pool, good food, good massages, free shuttle to ubud center Cons: 1. Breakfast was good but wasn't unlimited. I know it's not buffet but guests should be able to order a few extras. I was charged for extra eggs twice. 2. Food was expensive with 20% extra charges. Portion size was small for steaks and chicken 3. No taxis can enter the property if you want to go to places other than ubud center which means you are forced to either walk outside to look for a taxi (which is confusing) or ask Sankara reception who would charge you 4 times the actual price. The staff wasn't helpful in this regards. 4.There was no prayer mat on the property which is shocking considering Indonesia is a muslim country- can't pray on a dirty yoga mat. Summary: Overall the stay was good but the resort was expensive and customer service was average.

We left yesterday and I miss the place already :( The staff (front reception, kitchen, housekeeping, garden maintenance, pool guy) so very warm and friendly! The place is tranquil and relaxing with everything you need there, a quaint little coffee shop and humble laundromat are just across the street. The breakfast is 5 a la carte choices of American, continental, Indonesian, Indian and healthy hippy. My husband and I will definitely be back! Thank you so much Sankara staff for making our wedding anniversary so special We stayed in the villa with private pool, which was maintained and cleaned to perfection everyday, the fruit basket was replenished daily too.

The Sankara was a serene and lovely resort. The staff a incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant may have been the biggest surprise. The Balinese/Indonesian options were outstanding! Many, many thanks to the chef and restaurant staff. The room was a little dated and the water pressure was a bit lacking, but otherwise we were very comfortable. The pool is lovely and the bar drinks were very nice. The spa was lovely as well and my 90 minute treatment was wonderful. Thanks again to everyone at The Sankara for a terrific stay.

The property is very beautiful. We just found the room was quite noisy as we were very close to the tennis courts. Also the food in the restaurant was quite bland would prefer to go outside the resort for dinner next time. Staff are very friendly

Rooms were older. We did not like how the bathroom was as after shower the whole bathroom would be wet! Beds were comfortable. Nice setting with nature around. Wa quite inside and not really walkable but I think most places in Ubud are like that. Breakfast was excellent! Restaurant had great options! Just be aware that they have 2 separate properties under same name and it was very confusing since both resorts also have the same spa named Radha .. our uber took us to the wrong one and we had to pay double :( We were not aware there were 2 properties ( resort is closer to markets while the suites and villas appears to be more new but further away ) Overall good stay! Staff spoke English! Not overpriced. We didn’t walk anywhere as our tour taxi came to pick and drop daily so I guess it’s location was overall convenient enough!
