Budget decision. Multiple travelers from a variety of states did the same. Lots of rules posted. Subway and McDonalds in the parking lot. Train tracks across the road. No elevator. It was fine, clean.

Old and run down. Many trip hazards, all door entrances.

Just off Hwy 2, convenient parking, gas & fast food. Clean, Bed comfortable, just the bare necessities, water, juice & coffee in lobby.

Easy access, comfortable, good parking, generous size room. Great overnight stay

I forgot to request a 1st floor room for my elderly mother. They were kind enough to move us into ground floor, handicap accessible room.

Easy check in, clerk was friendly. Room clean. Parking easy, enough spaces. Only thing I noticed…NO hair dryer in the room! Oh well! Lots of trains passing through so lots of horns blowing!

This property was exactly what I wanted. A clean, quiet, reasonably priced, dog friendly room for one night. The parking lot was spacious & had plenty of room for a boat & trailer. 2 gas stations, McDonalds, Subway, & Dominoes next door. Nice area to walk my dog and caught an amazing sunrise over the bay before continue on our trip. Good value for the traveler.

Quick and easy check in process. Dog friendly. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Air conditioner worked well.

Pros: price was good for just needing a place to rest for a night. Front desk was friendly but he did not know much English. Room was easy to find. Had basic amenities like shampoo and soap and ice down the hall. Cons: Lobby and room smelled terrible. Window unit for A/C. Shower curtain was gross and needed to be replaced. Water temp/pressure could have been better but wouldn’t have been a deal breaker if it had felt cleaner.

Clean rooms and a great value.

The rooms were very very dirty. Mold on the shower curtain. Beds are old very uncomfortable. The drains smelled terrible… made you want to throw up. The town needs an upgrade on hotels! The town is a beautiful place to visit.

The room was quite large, well arranged, and clean. I appreciated the in room kitchen, although I didn't prepare food. It was, overall, very satisfactory.

We found a booger on the wall, a vape cartridge underneath a bed, and a towel had black streaks all over it. I felt like I needed a shower just being there, but I didn’t want to use the shower, as there was hair all over it, and I didn’t want to stay any longer than necessary.

Very clean room

The hotel needs updating but for the price we paid it was fine. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Since it's on the highway we could hear traffic all night along with trains blowing their whistles.

It was okay. Good place to sleep and shower. The double room beds are small. Two adults could not fit in one bed. The WiFi was spotty. The tv repeatedly searched for service.

The rooms and hallways were quite dark and dated but for the most part was clean. The lighting was relatively poor. All we did was sleep and shower so it worked for our stay.

The bed was very high off the floor. The bed covers was very warm like polar-tex blanket . Most hotels have thin bed cover and sheet covering them. The bed must of had plastic cover. We were both hot all night.

Clean room, but older hotel that looks in need of some updates. Our room faced the highway so traffic noise was reality. No hairdryer. But for the price Memorial Day weekend, good value for just an overnight stay.

The convenience was good and the comfort adequate. It's just a tired hotel. The tub didn't drain. The toilet refill was so slow two guests might have difficulty. There is not sufficient electrical outlets for today's business traveler. Had to charge my phone from the back of the TV. Shower curtain is too long; kept stepping on it. These are not very costly maintenance matters. And the postage stamp hand/bath soap just isn't adequate for an adult male's hand. Exterior doors aren't secured at night.

Room was spacious and clean but there was a distinct cigarette smell. Kitchen was adequate and there a few utensils, as well as dish soap, but nothing to clean or dry them with other than bath washcloths and bath towels. The bed was very comfortable. The property is adjacent to Hy 41 and close to a railroad track so there will be noise, especially if a train goes by (whistle for the intersection).

Rooms were very clean. Tub was very dangerous. It was extremely slippery. The shower curtain was 3 feet too long. The tub wall was 3 feet deep. So To step in or out was dangerous. There are not any grab bars. Toilet paper seemed to be rationed so I bought my own to supplement. But for the money, it was sufficient. The other person staying with me went to a friends house to shower since she could not safely step in or out of the tub.

The only thing I didn’t like was the noise at night from the freight trains across the street. The window was a single pane and didn’t close tightly, so the noise from the trains was loud. I would stay again but maybe on the backside away from the trains.

The staff are always friendly, and they do everything needed to make my stay comfortable. I always look forward to returning to the Lakeside Inn.

Desk clerk barely spoke English. Was assigned to a room that had ants in the bathroom crawling all over. Went to desk and requested another room and was accommodated but he didnt understand what ants were. Desk is closed during the night. Desk was closed at checkout at 8am. Back by noon. Interesting way to run a business.

Decent price, clean and convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.

Check in check out fast . However they said Expedia would send me a receipt . I expected for them to print me one . Nope

Check in was an utter nightmare. I had paid via expedia and even shown the staff the credit card charge, he was rude and disrespectful demanding payment. I stated that i was going to call expedia to sort out the issue which continued to irritate him and he acted as if i was not within my right to ensure that i didnt pay twice for a reservation . I called expedia and got the issue sorted out and the front desk manager continued to treat me with disrespect and rudeness as if i was a nuisance to be at this hotel. The rooms were not what i was expecting. They were old and janky. Walls painted and apots on the ceiling as if no care was taken. The wifi aignal was very low. The temperature of the room was either freezing or roasting, no in between. After staying two nights, we regretted our decision to stay at this hotel and wished we would have slept in our vehical. We were even locked out of our room at 9 am on check out day. Checl out time is at 11am. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and tell others to avoid it and stay elsewhere. For the price, there are certain expectations that you expect, ive stayed in nicer motel 6 than his hotel. There is even a random toilet on their property just sitting there. The beds were very uncomfortable additionally. Next time we will be staying at the casino which is not only cheaper but much more updated and had much more respectful staff.

Check in person unable to speak English, just pointed to signs in the wall gave me key and walked away. Did not sign I any forms or receive any information.

I look for a motel that has a friendly, helpful staff and is clean and safe. The Lakeside Motor Inn has everything I need. As for property, I can walk to a few eateries without going into traffic. The location is excellent.

Easy access, close to the bay

For a cheaper hotel, it was very nice. A little out dated but comfortable. 10 minute walk to a huge beach was a great perk.

Well the smell in the lobby and hallway was not a good first impression. Room seemed clean but very dated. Exterior of the building was disgusting. Lakeside implies you can see the lake. Not so! Lots of trucks and trains all night. It was not a hotel we will book again.

Extremely noisy! Between the highway and train traffic, it was very difficult to get a good night sleep even with earplugs. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable.

The establishment itself was well maintained. Location was great too for what we needed, excrete that its close to the rail line and train horns woke us up twice in the night

It was very clean. A little dated but clean. Continental breakfast needs some work. Value was great. The pictures under property description makes you think its on the water with docks. Its not on the water, your blocks away from the bay. A little misleading. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I would stay again. .

This was a quick stop on our way to our final desitnation. The hotel is on the older side. I wish they had more rooms with queen beds, all we could find were rooms with doubles. The beds were on the hard side. It was good for a night. There is no breakfast at this hotel as advertised. They do have some hot coffee options in the lobby.

The check in was good. Guy was very friendly. Room was clean, nice bathroom, tv worked well, and air conditioning was new. Noisy highway and there wasn't anything for breakfast except water and juice. All in all we would probably stay there again because the cost was very economical.

This hotel was conveniently located about halfway between our home in West Michigan and St.Paul/Minneapolis. We found Gladstone to be a pleasant little town to explore and caught the sunset down by the lighthouse pier. Good choice of restaurants, too. The hotel itself was fine. We slept well. The bathroom was clean. Don't however count on the coffee provided in room. Very bitter and the packet of creamer broke in hard pieces when opened. Thank goodness for the McDonalds practically next door. Also someone needs to do a little window washing. The front side door was completely smudged and dirty. Poor first impression. Also there was a good sized hole in the window screen in the room that should be fixed. All in all though, the stay was good for the price.

The staff were courteous and friendly. The room met our needs. Very basic motel, but there are places to eat within walking distance.
