Great little motel! Perfect location, lake front and walking distance to the local park and shops/ restaurants. The place is very nostalgic yet clean and in great shape, hot tub was hot, and the beach access was perfect. Overall an excellent stay for the price.

It was definitely not the nicest place. But the staff let me check in early and use parking lot before I checked in. The area seemed safe. The pool wasn't heated and hot tub was over run by drunk adults the entire day. The private beach was a little small. I'd recommend just walking down to the stake beach which is like a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Overall a great place to stay if you care about location rather than comfort.

I have been staying at The Crown for over 30 years. First with my parents as a child, and now with my own child. Love the beach access, and walkability. The remodeled pool area is great! Only thing I would note is the need for adaptive equipment (ex: grab bar in shower) specifically for older guests; and some of the window treatments could use an upgrade. But it’s the perfect place to bring your family and spend some quality time - winter and summer alike.

I asked for a 1st floor room, I was told they were pretty full, in the morning, there were a handful of cars, mmm the gate to the hot tub was not working, I advised the staff and they did nothing. Property is woefully outdated. Location is good.

Excellent customer service. Great motel for a family vacation thanks to the amenities and walking distance to the main beach; also has a private beach. Good area to walk around and enjoy the scenery. The rooms are spacious. The rooms were not entirely clean and I noticed small bugs in the bathroom. The TVs required a login which was a hassle (personally would prefer AirPlay). Overall, I would recommend this location for family gatherings.

We have stayed here several times, but it has been a few years. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room had no coffee, the bathroom shower was dirty and it looked like a blind person painted the bathroom door. We got locked out of our room, the front desk staff person was able to assist and get us in. It seems like manangement is not paying attention or walking the rooms. Super bummed, we are local and want to support our local community.

Crown Motel is clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. It’s right on the water with its own private beach. It’s nothing fancy but it had everything I was looking for in a lakefront property. Ruby was great during the check in process. The bbq/picnic area was a nice surprise and it was awesome that so many people were using it. The patios and deck areas offer places for people to hang out and I love the pool area. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. If there was one thing that disappointed me, it’s that there was no in room coffee but there’s a great place next door! Overall Crown Motel is a great, simple little lakeside property and I will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at the Crown Motel. After a week in Kings Beach we needed to extend our stay for a few more days and picked the Crown Motel to do so. Our lakefront room looked to be recently updated, was clean and comfortable. I like the property...with a pool, large sundeck, easy access to the lake and walking distance to everything we needed for our few extra days in town. We will definitely keep the Crown Motel in mind for future stays and to recommend to friends and family.

Old hotel. We stayed in courtyard room which had a lot of traffic noise. Adjoining guests coming and going sounded like they were walking in our room. Room is a bit tight. Place needs work. Carpet on stair is nasty. Location is good, close to things and lake.

The location was great! It is right next to the lake and a few minutes walk to the Event Center. The bed was also very comfortable. My complaints focus about cleanliness and noise. You can hear all the cars drive by on the main road and everything happening in the parking lot. The room we stayed in had a fan missing a blade and was caked with dust. The mattress cover was also a bit dirty on the side, but was covered by a sheet.

The Crown Motel has a nice location on the beach. The disappointment was the room. Needs a huge update, carpet was stained and the air conditioner was a stand alone unit with a big coil vented outside that kept falling down.

Believe the bad reviews! I wish I would have. They honey pot you with pictures of other updated rooms. We stayed in a standard room in the courtyard and it was also very loud from the street and noisy neighbors who were there to party. Might be nice if you pay the extra money for a lake view room because the location is nice, otherwise don’t waste your money on a standard room and expect to get a good nights rest.

Our room was clean but had no furniture other than 2 nightstands a table and 2 chairs. The kitchen was old but clean and a nice surprise. Our room had no view but we loved their large deck that looks over Lake Tahoe. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by another day. They seemto stay extremely full and getting one of the units with a balcony and view. Next trip to Tahoe we plan to stay there, but will book our room early to get an upstairs balcony overlooking the lake.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Loved being right on the lake and listening to the water at night. The fire pit was a nice touch at night to sit by. At first my husband was put off by the glass door to the room until we found the shade in the closet that just stuck to the door by magnets. We put that up at night. We did miss having coffee in our room for the morning, unfortunately it was on back order.

Highly recommend! From someone who is very picky with our stays, my kids and I were very comfortable here. Merrietta and the staff were very friendly, responsive and overall made things easier with anything I asked. We will definitely be returning.

Staff member called and was rude on the phone after we checked out. Accused us of not checking out on time. I explained that we checked out in person and left hours ago. He insisted we left luggage in our room. We didn't. He called the wrong guests and was a prick.

The staff was amazing! Every person on staff was accommodating and quickly responded to any request. Loved being able to text the front desk and receive updates on my reservation. Loved the water access. Loved the big picture windows and the view. Our first time in Lake Tahoe and wanted to be on the water and Crown fit the bill. Very homey and retro. Lots of places to hang out and the pool view was spectacular.

My only issue was that we got to the Motel early. They said check in was not until 4pm. We came back at 3:30pm just to check and they had the room next to us ready but not the one that was assigned to us. In my experience even if the check in is later, the staff will try to accommodate as long as they have rooms available, which in this case they did. We came back at 3:30pm just to check and they had the room next to us ready but not the one that was assigned to us. In my experience even if the check in is later, the staff will try to accommodate as long as they have rooms available, which in this case they did. Great location. Our room overlooked the lake with a Beautiful view. Can access beach from the motel. Property was clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and communicated well before and during our stay through text messages. Loved our stay.

We’re very happy and satisfied with our stay at Crown Motel. We didn’t expect that the kitchenette would have the pots and pans and plates that we need. Brandon from customer service was very helpful and friendly with our concerns and questions. The motel had a game room that was perfect for our kids. The motel was conveniently located to everything anyone would need: restaurants, coffee shop, grocery and walking distance to the beach.

We had a lakefront room and it was so nice to go to sleep with the sound of the water hitting the shore. The staff was super responsive and everything was done via text. I was also skeptical as I don't often stay in motels but it was a excellent location and the room was perfect for me, my husband and our daughter. And being walkable distance to a variety of restaurants made it very convenient.

Great location within walking distance to several good restaurants and most importantly, right on the lake! Able to rent kayaks, paddle boards, jet ski’s just steps away. Absolutely beautiful location with friendly staff. We were traveling with our pup and happy to say the area was very pet friendly. Already booked our next stay!

Crown Motel is clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the location. It’s right on the water with its own private beach. It’s nothing fancy but it had everything I was looking for in a lakefront property. Ruby was great during the check in process. The bbq/picnic area was a nice surprise and it was awesome that so many people were using it. The patios and deck areas offer places for people to hang out and I love the pool area. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. If there was one thing that disappointed me, it’s that there was no in room coffee but there’s a great place next door! Overall Crown Motel is a great, simple little lakeside property and I will definitely be back!

For a cheap getaway, the Crown Motel was nice. It would be way too modest of a motel for my wife, but for me I just needed a comfortable, clean room for the night. This is not the type of room that you want to spend much time in because it is very small. I'm one who drinks hotel provided coffee in the rooms that you make yourself. I was disappointed that there was only tea packets in the room. I really enjoyed the hot tub. It felt great and there was a great view of the lake .

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Loved being right on the lake and listening to the water at night. The fire pit was a nice touch at night to sit by. At first my husband was put off by the glass door to the room until we found the shade in the closet that just stuck to the door by magnets. We put that up at night. We did miss having coffee in our room for the morning, unfortunately it was on back order.

This is a very run down motel. It looks nothing like the pictures and I am shocked by the great reviews. We picked it based on reviews. It was a big disappointment, many things old and broken. Carpets worn and torn. It’s a dog motel. Everyone had a dog(s) but us. There are many other options in this area so I advise you to keep looking.

we r local, spend day trips,ski,beach at tahoe. start with un acceptable- no coffe maker in room.......what they provide is not even good for a camping situation. used to be coffee makers in rooms,no more...........big dis appointment. next- the fan in bathroom does not work. positive- audrey at front desk was great.......we arrived 1:30pm, she allowed us to park in the facility, spend day,evening at the beach.............we checked in later. AUDREY- thank u so much for the parking ......if we return,ill bring my percolator...
