The Acadia Gateway is a convenient stop after arriving in Bar Harbor on the Bay Ferry, or on the way to. We stayed just the one night. Check in was easy and our host friendly. The motel is old and dated in decor and facility, but bedding and linens clean and acceptable. Cons to this place is parking is very tight, beds very uncomfortable, had trouble navigating the TV, water in the shower unable to regulate from very hot to cold while in use, tub needs more non skid apparatus, they were only placed in front of tub and not in the back, slippery when not stepping on the non skid appliques, and needs a grab bar. Toilet and shower in one tiny room, the second rental room bathroom really small and only 1 chair in the room.

Hotel is convenient to exploring Mt Desert Island. Minimal cabin with a very small bathroom, no mirror or sink in there. Sink and mirror in living area. 1950’s decor. Window shades need replacing. Does have AC, refrigerator and microwave. Beds comfortable. Internet ok. On a busy road so tends to be noisy. Coffee and pastries provided at the office. Restaurant across the street was excellent and handy to have a convenience store across the street.

Property was clean and more affordable than some other motels in the area. There was no mini fridge, and shower was small. Housekeeper comes daily and there is a window AC unit. It was a little far for going in and out of Acadia National Park if you are doing multiple days and mind driving. Overall, the pictures and descriptions of motel utilities were accurate and we had no issues.

Perfect for what it’s trying to be. A clean motel not far from Acadia. A little disappointed the WiFi in our cabin didn’t work the entire weekend ; and the cabin style rooms do have a microwave but no coffee cup to heat something up in. Overall a solid stay

Great location to Acadia NP. Liked that the room was clean and was a nice size with a microwave and fridge. The management was also very responsive when we found that our hair dryer was broken and it was replaced quickly. The beds were comfortable enough but creaked when you moved. The only complaint is the bad plumbing in the shower. The shower water temperature fluctuated between very hot and cold every 5-10 seconds so had to take a quick shower.

Cute cottages with a history. Close to the National Park. Room was clean, but a bit dated, however was comfortable and everything worked so didn’t mind it being a bit rustic. Two bedrooms so would be fun for a family or two couples traveling together. Front desk also was friendly and told us the history and gave good recommendations on what to see in the area.

This hotel is run by a very interesting Polish American couple who are very accommodating. Our room was very close to the highway which after around 10 was not an issue. I am allergic to mildew and had problems with the carpets. However, it is safe, clean, and reasonably priced for the area.

The property is about 20 minutes away from Acadia NP, and in a nice town where there were plenty of places to eat and shop. The host was friendly, and the cottage we stayed in was VERY clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Tiniest shower ever and so close to the road, it remained loud! Would not recommend a single woman staying here. Doors are flimsy! Front desk person very helpful when our tv didn't work.

The motel is restored in the classic 60s 70s style. Very clean. Road noise is noticeable and the shower was narrow. The Bar Harbor park and ride shuttle stop and new Acadia park center is just 2 miles away.

Right across from a gas station and near a lot of really good antique shops. 25 minutes away from Bar Harbor and only 15 minutes away from Acadia National park. Room was super cute and cozy but shower was way too small and the bed was very flimsy and you could feel the springs in the mattress. Overall honestly worth it though

Hotel room was not updated. The A/C was not working properly. In fact the owner told me not to turn on the A/C since it was going to get cooler later on throughout the night, even though it was very humid. The room itself was not worth the price, especially after the owner added additional fee for having 4 guests instead of the 2 guests listed the reservation.

Overall really enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for something cost friendly and clean - this spot had both. Staff is friendly, easy parking and convenient location for a short drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor. Perfect spot if you’re not looking for anything fancy. Since it is right along the main highway you can hear cars drive past during the night - just to be aware if you’re a light sleeper.

Overall really enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for something cost friendly and clean - this spot had both. A wonderful stay, the host was super nice The address on hotels is very wrong though it took us to. Different hotel they said they get it all the time and handed me a printed out sheet of directions they give to all the clients hotels maps send them. It was about 15 min down the road from there

It is on a busy street. If you have the windows closed and the air conditioner on it’s ok. The manager is very nice and helpful. There is a good place to eat across the street.

Clean, quaint, and SO CLOSE to great places like The Lumberjack show, two great breweries in Ellsworth, seafood restaurants, and Blueberry Hill ice cream parlor. The traffic was noticeable by day, but we were out at Acadia NP and Bar Harbor so that didn’t matter and it was quiet at night while we slept. I highly recommend this little gem and would stay here again.
