Very friendly welcome and friendly people in the bar. Staff very cheerful and helpful. Very comfortable bed and pleasant room which was the dog friendly one. Maybe a bit noisy before the bar underneath closed but that didn’t bother us at all. Finally, good strong loo paper!

Young lady at the bar was very helpful on arrival. No on-site parking so she explained the need to have a parking permit which she supplied and advised how to use it. The bar was a country town bar but the rooms were smart,comfortable and clean. Alternative access was available to residents.

Parking can be tricky if you’re unfamiliar with the disc system. Get a disc free from the coffee shop next door. For overnight you need to park in the area by the tourist information office, just up the street a block. Tickets are very pricey so don’t take a chance.

A great stay at the Green Dragon. Lovely pub with rooms in a great area. Room was decent for what I was after although with the hot weather, it did get pretty warm during the night. Very comfortable though, clean and nice decor. The pub had a great selection of food and beers and I took advantage of both of these. Great home cooked food. Service was great from check in, bar staff and also breakfast the following day. Stay coincided with the England v Denmark Football Game and the bar had a few in but still plenty of space and service was very quick. Great atmosphere and lovely bar. Breakfast also great quality in the conservatory and service quick.

This was our third time staying at The Green Dragon on our way up to Scotland. It’s five minutes from the A1 in a characterful market town. Landlord and staff very friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed. Bed very comfy and good quality linens. Spacious, well laid out ensuite. We ate in the bar. Good range of beers, lovely home- cooked food which was good value. Breakfast was excellent too. We will be staying again!

I found the facilities fine and my room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with more than enough tea, coffee etc., available. The meal I had was good and well presented. It's well situated in the middle of the square with plenty of parking though you are on a time limit but parking is available at the rear of the hotel next door and is available for you to use if you wish it. There is also a quiet beer garden at the back.

I found the facilities fine and my room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with more than enough tea, coffee etc., available. The meal I had was good and well presented. Bit disappointed to go down for continental breakfast at 8.15 to find everything locked up. Was told breakfast was between 8 and 930. No one around so had to post keys and parking disc through the front door.

Young lady at the bar was very helpful on arrival. No on-site parking so she explained the need to have a parking permit which she supplied and advised how to use it. The bar was a country town bar but the rooms were smart,comfortable and clean. Alternative access was available to residents.

Parking can be tricky if you’re unfamiliar with the disc system. Get a disc free from the coffee shop next door. For overnight you need to park in the area by the tourist information office, just up the street a block. Tickets are very pricey so don’t take a chance.

As a three star, this was good, we had a lovely room on the top floor, and received a friendly welcome. Really good location in the centre of such a pretty town Bedale.

This was our third time staying at The Green Dragon on our way up to Scotland. It’s five minutes from the A1 in a characterful market town. Landlord and staff very friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed. Bed very comfy and good quality linens. Spacious, well laid out ensuite. We ate in the bar. Good range of beers, lovely home- cooked food which was good value. Breakfast was excellent too. We will be staying again!

Stayed one night to break our journey to Scotland. Friendly welcome from lovely staff. Bedroom and shower room spotless. Room at the front but had a great night’s sleep as traffic almost non-existent. We ate in the pub - very good and value for money. Tasty breakfast next morning. Will stay again.

A great stay at the Green Dragon. Lovely pub with rooms in a great area. Room was decent for what I was after although with the hot weather, it did get pretty warm during the night. Very comfortable though, clean and nice decor. The pub had a great selection of food and beers and I took advantage of both of these. Great home cooked food. Service was great from check in, bar staff and also breakfast the following day. Stay coincided with the England v Denmark Football Game and the bar had a few in but still plenty of space and service was very quick. Great atmosphere and lovely bar. Breakfast also great quality in the conservatory and service quick.

Bit disappointed to go down for continental breakfast at 8.15 to find everything locked up. Was told breakfast was between 8 and 930. No one around so had to post keys and parking disc through the front door.

Lovely rooms above the pub. We had both an evening meal & breakfast and both were good. The main street in Bedale is lovely with plenty of shops & pubs. Our room was above the street and there was a bit of noise from the street however this was mainly due to having the windows open as it was a warm night.

We stayed as we were having a special birthday treat at a local restaurant Hansom. The accommodation was great! We liked our room and our included cold breakfast ( cereal, toast, yoghourt, juice and coffee/ tea, thank you). Cooked breakfasts though looked amazing!! Next time :) We really loved beautiful Bedale as a gorgeous market town and so many independent shops on the high street. We live maybe 60/75 mins away depending on traffic time and will definitely come back. The pub was a great spot, lovely clean room, with the brekky. Next time we want to stay over, potter in the area and have a few drinks in the pub there. Great staff for brekky and also thanks to Chris sorting us out for a parking disc for right outside parking :)
