Lovely old fashioned pub with pretty hanging baskets . Our room was large and nicely furnished . The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on and the ensuite had a bath and shower which was fantastic . We couldn't fault the fish and chips that we had in their restaurant and there were 3 choices of real ale on handpump , which made us happy. Breakfast was served between 7.30 and 9.30 and was excellent. The only downside was the road noise in the morning , but we will be happy to return.

The Pub was clean and tidy, the flower display outside was outstanding, a lot of time and effort went into the display all around the pub. The staff were very friendly and watched the football with locals in the dining area they were very very friendly as well. will say here again.10/10

Chris the owner always makes you feel welcome. Dining in the pub is always a tasty experience, as is the selection of ales on the bar. Rooms are tasteful in good shape, and comfortable. Parking is easy, great value for money

Had a 2 night stay in this lovely pub. Our room was clean and warm and had all the usual facilities - tea ,coffee TV and ensuite bathroom. Food (evening meal and breakfast) we're excellent and reasonably priced too. Service was second to none and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The staff and owner were very pleasant and helpful. V clean. Good shower. The weather was v hot snd there was a Fan in room. Yea making facility. Hair dryer. Good Wi-Fi. We had an excellent meal. Lovely setting. I can’t fault this hotel. I would go again.

I stayed here instead of booking into a premium inn in the town and this did not disappoint. It was worth the extra drive just to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and very comfy. The highlight was certainly the breakfast it was delicious and it set me up for the day ahead.

Good old fashioned pub with accommodation. Friendly and polite staff Great breakfast and had excellent evening meal on one night of our two night stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. We have stayed here before and will return.

Lovely village pub, unfortunately the restaurant doesn’t open on Mondays which wasn’t mentioned on Expedia when I booked. However pub gave the option of ordering a takeaway which could be eaten in the pub, as it was I drove to nearby Oakham (4 miles) and had a nice meal. Staff all welcoming and enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Only downside was the shower wasn’t great and there was black mould gathering high up near the ceiling above the shower.

Absolutely gorgeous find, the owner is welcoming & extremely hospitable. Room was outstanding would definitely recommend to eat here. Even made us a breakfast pack up. Only slight point was the noise but to be expected as we were above the bar … but don’t let that put you off. Superb stay highly recommended

Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome.
Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome.

The hotel was a good base for the surrounding area. It was very clean and the staff were lovely and helpful. I've given it 4 stars on facilities because our room was quite small and didn't have a lot of room to manoevre around. Also we didn't realise when we booked that the pub didn't do food on the Sunday or Monday evenings and the bar closed early too. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great stay , only small issue was a very hot bedroom but small window opened which helped slightly . We stayed monday night so no food available but breakfast on tuesday was excellent. Would recommend and would stay again if in the area

Very hostile welcome will return to area but not accommodate. Very rude , looked down on you but quick to take your money and just not welcoming , felt it was an effort for them to be polite. Very dated room for what I paid considering where I stayed previously in comparison. Certainly not child friendly that’s a lie on the website and the breakfast lady was just rude.

Excellent all round. It was very busy while we were there, always a good sign. Staff were very accommodating. The food was very good. We visit the area a number of times a year and this is where we will stay. Good value.

Really enjoyed my nights stay after our day walking The Rutland Round. Everything was what i had hoped for, comfy bed, clean room, good beer and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Chicken on mash with a leek and stilton sauce and veg.

Lovely old fashioned pub with pretty hanging baskets . Our room was large and nicely furnished . The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on and the ensuite had a bath and shower which was fantastic . We couldn't fault the fish and chips that we had in their restaurant and there were 3 choices of real ale on handpump , which made us happy. Breakfast was served between 7.30 and 9.30 and was excellent. The only downside was the road noise in the morning , but we will be happy to return.

Had a fabulous evening and night. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The accommodation a food very good overall. We were gloriously entertained throughout the evening by Chris and wonderful magic and card tricks. The location and village is charming and we were made welcome by locals. Overall a lovely time had

Lovely village pub, unfortunately the restaurant doesn’t open on Mondays which wasn’t mentioned on Expedia when I booked. However pub gave the option of ordering a takeaway which could be eaten in the pub, as it was I drove to nearby Oakham (4 miles) and had a nice meal. Staff all welcoming and enjoyed a nice cooked breakfast in the morning. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Only downside was the shower wasn’t great and there was black mould gathering high up near the ceiling above the shower.

Really enjoyed my nights stay after our day walking The Rutland Round. Everything was what i had hoped for, comfy bed, clean room, good beer and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Chicken on mash with a leek and stilton sauce and veg.

The hotel was a good base for the surrounding area. It was very clean and the staff were lovely and helpful. I've given it 4 stars on facilities because our room was quite small and didn't have a lot of room to manoevre around. Chris the owner always makes you feel welcome. Dining in the pub is always a tasty experience, as is the selection of ales on the bar. Rooms are tasteful in good shape, and comfortable. Parking is easy, great value for money

Great stay , only small issue was a very hot bedroom but small window opened which helped slightly . We stayed monday night so no food available but breakfast on tuesday was excellent. Would recommend and would stay again if in the area

Room immaculate and quiet although a pub location. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking very busy in the evening but managed to squeeze in. Left too early for breakfast but was provided with sandwich, drink, crisps, fruit and biscuits. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
