Excellent short stay as we prepare to take the ferry to Mull. Great proximity to Oban, up on the hill above the town, so quiet and peaceful. Incredible view facing west from the car park! Lovely stay in a clean and comfy room.

Lovely place, host met us as we came in. Room was stalked with delicious goodies and fresh milk in fridge. A little tight to get to hotel but worth the drive up the mountain as the views are amazing. Convenient parking just up the road.

Carolyne was an excellent host. Meeting us at check-in and explaining the property. When she noticed we had mobility problems, she immediately asked if we would like to change to a downstairs room.The room was spotlessly clean, very good shower and plenty of tea, coffee makings and snacks. Parking was approx 50m away and no problem. Our host was available if we had any problems, of which we had none. The property is up a steep hill. My suggestion would be walk down (approx 12 minutes)and take a taxi back up (£5 approx). Overall a priceworthy and most enjoyable stay Only 1 problem, despite our best efforts, we were unable to detect any smell of pine, vomit, dampness or smelly dogs around mentioned in other reviews lol. Will definitely return if the host will have us.

We loved staying at Don Muir. Caroline was helpful, responsive and just a nice lady. Instructions were clear and she provided a nice little complimentary breakfast basket in our spotless room. Free parking is nearby, but you can unload and load right at her place.The walk to downtown Oban is about 15 minutes one way. We were happy to walk as parking in Oban was not great. Bed was very comfy and shower was great.

This place is great! The innkeeper is super sweet and helpful. Parking is easy for a town that has very little free parking. It's a ten-minute walk to downtown. Great, cute room. No complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

The proprietress, Caroline, was welcoming and helpful. She had thoughtfully provided snacks and breakfast foods / drinks for the room. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. We had a beautiful view during our walk down to Oban town, caught a gorgeous sunset, and enjoyed dinner at the Oban Brasserie (in the Perle Oban hotel). Thank you for a lovely stay!

This is a beautiful property and well worth a visit. Despite my train arriving after check-in, it was very easy to access my room. The room was a good size and very clean. The hostess is friendly and extremely accommodating. If you use public transportation, be aware that the property is near Pulpit Hill, so there is some steep walking. However, buses do serve this area, and you can get a taxi. I came to Scotland to hike, so the uphill walk was a welcome part of the trip. The house was less than 15 15-minute walk from the bus station, ferry, and city centre, so very convenient for tourists. I would highly recommend a stay at Don Muir House.

Place was clean and the host was super kind. A bit of an uphill walk if youre coming from the town but it is really close to a lovely viewpoint that overlooks the town. Very nice at sunset!

Cold faucet never turned off, refrigerator was loud, no shampoo, conditioner or Kleenex. Room and towels were had mildew scent. Strenuous walk to and from restaurants bed sages in the misdle

Caroline was an excellent host. She greeted me upon arrival and recommended things to do and places to visit on my stay here. The room was very tidy, had a heater and complimentary coffee, tea and some snacks for breakfast. Everything was well maintained and the views nearby of Oban were spectacular

The room was cean and nicely decorated. Bar fridge with milk and juice. The bed was in need of being replaced (room #2) as extremely soft and we rolled into the middle. Needs towel bars or hooks in the toilet as no where to hang the towels.

A very well set up room for us, for a last minute pick in Oban. Though not large, everything we needed was there, working, and comfy and quiet. We recc the Oban Inn, along the far edge of town near the waterfront, for great food and atmosphere. And the live caeli (sp?) music was really good.

Nice to have a fridge with juice and milk. Needed a new bed as wsy to soft and we sank into the middle. No where to hang towels in the toilet.

My husband and I have been traveling Scotland for our honeymoon. We found this guest house when looking for places to stay on our travels. We absolutely LOVED it. Our host, Caroline was wonderful and welcoming. Could not have asked for a better host. Our room was clean, and spacious. We had some cereal, snacks, milk, and orange juice in our room. There was also tea and coffee provided. We were extremely close to town and parking was super easy and close. We will definitely be coming back when we are able to travel again.

My husband and I have been traveling Scotland for our honeymoon. We found this guest house when looking for places to stay on our travels. We absolutely LOVED it. My husband and I have been traveling Scotland for our honeymoon. We found this guest house when looking for places to stay on our travels. We absolutely LOVED it. Our host, Caroline was wonderful and welcoming. Could not have asked for a better host. Our room was clean, and spacious. We had some cereal, snacks, milk, and orange juice in our room. There was also tea and coffee provided. We were extremely close to town and parking was super easy and close. We will definitely be coming back when we are able to travel again.

The venue is up a gradual slope, being around a 10 minute walk from the town centre however the view of the harbour during the walk is beautiful. Being close to the pulpit hill viewpoint makes a nice trip being only a couple minutes walk from the venue. Carolyn was very welcoming and seeing me as a female sole traveler, made me feel very safe and gave me suggestions for the best places to visit. The bedroom was perfect and although it is a shared bathroom, which I was nervous about, this proved to be no problem at all. The cute little breakfast selection and variety of refreshments were just lovely. I’ll definitely return on my next trip to Oban !

This is a beautiful property and well worth a visit. Despite my train arriving after check-in, it was very easy to access my room. The room was a good size and very clean. The hostess is friendly and extremely accommodating. If you use public transportation, be aware that the property is near Pulpit Hill, so there is some steep walking. However, buses do serve this area, and you can get a taxi. I came to Scotland to hike, so the uphill walk was a welcome part of the trip. The house was less than 15 15-minute walk from the bus station, ferry, and city centre, so very convenient for tourists. I would highly recommend a stay at Don Muir House.

Close to Pulpit hill view of Oban bay, only a 15 minute walk to oban town centre, 2 minute drive to the ferry terminal. It is room only but a welcoming pack was put in the room, including, cereals, crisps and soft drinks, in the fridge was milk, orange juice and yoghurts. Lovely host.

A wonderful hidden location above Oban but really an easy walk down a steep road off Pulpit Hill to the back of the CalMac ferry dock. Just pay attention to passing cars.

On a hill with a great view. Accommodations were excellent. A bit difficult to find for someone not familiar with the area and non-numbered house addresses. Just ask for directions from one of the neighbors you’ll likely find walking their dog and you’ll be fine.

Carolyne was an excellent host. Meeting us at check-in and explaining the property. When she noticed we had mobility problems, she immediately asked if we would like to change to a downstairs room.The room was spotlessly clean, very good shower and plenty of tea, coffee makings and snacks. Parking was approx 50m away and no problem. Our host was available if we had any problems, of which we had none. The property is up a steep hill. My suggestion would be walk down (approx 12 minutes)and take a taxi back up (£5 approx). Overall a priceworthy and most enjoyable stay Only 1 problem, despite our best efforts, we were unable to detect any smell of pine, vomit, dampness or smelly dogs around mentioned in other reviews lol. Will definitely return if the host will have us.

We loved staying at Don Muir. Caroline was helpful, responsive and just a nice lady. Instructions were clear and she provided a nice little complimentary breakfast basket in our spotless room. Free parking is nearby, but you can unload and load right at her place.The walk to downtown Oban is about 15 minutes one way. We were happy to walk as parking in Oban was not great. Bed was very comfy and shower was great.

The proprietress, Caroline, was welcoming and helpful. She had thoughtfully provided snacks and breakfast foods / drinks for the room. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. We had a beautiful view during our walk down to Oban town, caught a gorgeous sunset, and enjoyed dinner at the Oban Brasserie (in the Perle Oban hotel). Thank you for a lovely stay!

The fridge had some fruit juice and milk for hot drinks which was lovely. Even though it wasn't a b and b, the owner had thoughtfully put some breakfast items in the room which we appreciated as we had to be in the queue for the ferry to Coll at 6.15am.

Lovely place, host met us as we came in. Room was stalked with delicious goodies and fresh milk in fridge. A little tight to get to hotel but worth the drive up the mountain as the views are amazing. Convenient parking just up the road.

Caroline was an excellent host. She greeted me upon arrival and recommended things to do and places to visit on my stay here. The room was very tidy, had a heater and complimentary coffee, tea and some snacks for breakfast. Everything was well maintained and the views nearby of Oban were spectacular

The drive up the road to the house is a bit confusing at first as one has to drive up a narrow winding road uphill and the parking requires a bit of flexibility because you can’t park in front of the building.But the view is worth it. Lovely room, in a quiet midtown neighborhood, with excellent views. My host was very friendly and helpful. The room I slept in felt like my own bedroom, very cozy. Surprising amenities including a little fridge with food were provided as there was no breakfast per se.

I was made to feel very welcome and was very comfortable here. The bed was large and comfortable, television great. The breakfast unexpected was lovely to have cereal, yogurt. Milk, apple juice, biscuits and tea/coffee/chocolate. I shared a bathroom which was fine as vloseby, I had my own toilet and sink which was great. The house looked in need of repair and there was a damp smell. It is uphill from the village so need to take. £5 taxi from the station up. The walk downhill on a narrow busy road is about 15mins and easy enough. There is a luggage storage near the station search for bounce and book it in if needed. Oban is small and cute.
