Gran Hotel Miramar GL

The bed was super comfortable. The internet worked well. The salt water pool was very nice as well. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel boasts impressive design and architecture, creating a stylish and inviting atmosphere. The on-site restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience, and the rooftop terrace, along with the outdoor seating area, provides an excellent space to relax and enjoy the sun. Additionally, the gym facilities are well-equipped, and the presence of a spa adds to the overall appeal. However, the pricing for certain amenities is unreasonably high. Parking for a rental car is charged at an excessive €30 per night, and the cost of drinks within the hotel is similarly steep—a small cappuccino, for instance, was priced at €6. While the hotel excels in aesthetics and facilities, it would benefit from more reasonable pricing to enhance the overall guest experience.

I didn't think that this hotel is really a 5 star hotel. I think that it bigger than most hotels in the area but I would not return to this one. The pool is very small and in front of a major street. The staff doesn't really go out of their way to make you feel great. The food was underwhelming from room service ( burger was rare). The rooms are out dated. One thing that really stands out to me is the concierge calling us over and over again after 12pm checkout as we were packing only to go downstairs and wait 30 minutes to checkout. Again, the service is not great at this hotel.

Very good and classy resort. The staff is amazing and all the facilities are excellent. But it is very expensive especially the spa services. Also the pool can be crowded. Overall we really like this hotel.

The room, staff and general facilities were all great. Located right on the main public beach in Malaga. Great open pool and lounge area in back of hotel (facing the beach.) Super cool rooftop bar which is spectacular in the evenings for a drink and sunset. Pricey, but what isn't in Malaga in a prime location.

Excellent 5 star hotel, wonderful room facilities that are maintained to very high standards, housekeeping to be commended. The hotel provides a very relaxing environment with great food options, breakfasts were delicious. Would like to see the outdoor swimming pool open throughout the year, it’s not enormous and could be easily be heated during the Winter period.

Great seafront location but also close to old town. Onsite parking. Friendly staff. Great rooftop bar and great pool area. The views from the seafront rooms with terrace are great

This property is stunning. Don’t miss an hour in the spa pool for a truly relaxing and enchanting time. The rooftop bar has exquisite cocktails. The area around the hotel is very walkable and safe. So many amenities. This will be my new go to in Malaga.

Great spa services! But not easy to book in advance. It would also help to have the checkout time flexible with finishing spa treatments.

Nos enchanta este hotel. Todo el mundo en el hotel fueron muy amables. La gente que trabaja en el bar por la piscina, en la recepción y Alba, la que era la gobernante de nuestras habitaciones, eran muy alegres y nos cuida muy bien. We love this hotel. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. The people working at the poolside bar, at the front desk, and Alba, who was in charge of our rooms, were all very cheerful and took great care of us.

The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious

Excellent hotel, the staff are so welcoming, it’s spotlessly clean, we felt so spoiled, didn’t want to leave. We will certainly go back, not just for the hotel, but we loved Malaga. Thank you for making our stay perfect x

The hotel is fantastic. Its spotless, rooms are grest. The staff are incredible and do everything to make it a fab experience. Loved every bit of it and eill definitely be back.

This was one of the better hotels we’ve stayed at. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help answer any questions. It is in a great area with a bunch of restaurants and activities within walking distance. The pool is large and there are a lot of seats available for guests. There is a small gym which is pretty hard to find so I would ask someone for help. We went to the rooftop bar most nights which was great, just be prepared to spend a lot more on cocktails than you would at most of the other bars in the area. There were a bunch of tiny ants in our room but other than that it was very clean.

The hotel itself was beautiful! Our room was spacious and clean.

Miramar är ett fantastiskt hotell med vackra rum och utmärkt service. Städningen var extremt bra, allt var mycket rent, även på dolda ytor där det ofta fuskas på andra hotell. Frukosten är mycket riklig och i princip allt som man kan önska finns att få. Poolområdet är stort och välskött. Läget är utmärkt med gångavstånd till gamla stan och havet precis intill.

My wife and l have been to this hotel 3 times now. over all the hotel is great, However,we stayed in room 414 this time and the ceiling above the shower was broken and cracked and looked a bit dangerous.When paying this much money for a suite you don't expect to see this standard of finish.

An absolute amazing experience with a sea view terrace room beautifully decorated and maintained. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast choices to cater to all tastes and a drink in the panoramic rooftop bar is not to be missed in this historic building

A beautiful property, just 15min walk from the old town and main sights of Malaga. Staff and service was excellent, great breakfast buffet. However, the standard king room is a bit small for this hotel class and price range, you don’t even have enough space to put down a suitcase.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location Centrally located hotel across the road from the public beach (either part of or an extension of Malaguena Beach). Plaza de Toros is about 5 min walk away, and the port of Malaga, with all the shops and restaurants, is about 10-15 min walk away. The hotel has a nice, albeit not humongous, swimming pool with a water temperature little on the cold side, but tolerable. The exterior of the hotel is fabulous, and the lobby is very nice as well. I had a PREMIER room. Little disappointing, as it was overlooking a somewhat ugly looking apartment building next door, had no balcony, and had super tiny shower stall, even by European standards. Not sure what non-PREMIER room would be like…But all in all, very beautiful hotel in a very good location. I would not hesitate to stay there again but would opt for DELUXE SEA rooms or above.

The rooms were very average. However, the location is perfect for getting to the beach, or anywhere in Málaga

Phenomenal service from every staff member

The hotel itself is beautiful, but unfortunately the service was extremely poor. We stayed for six nights and were told on arrival that breakfast—despite being clearly included in our booking—was not included. This was only corrected at the end of our stay, after we had already been charged, and there was no apology or sense of accountability. Overall service was very slow and did not meet the standard expected of a five-star hotel. In addition, the bed was not comfortable and the sheets appeared old and worn, which further detracted from the experience. Despite there being festive events and numerous activities taking place during our stay, no effort was made by the concierge to inform us of these. We were only fortunate to discover most of them while walking around the streets. The overall experience was below par, and regrettably, I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel room was very comfortable. The pool area and rooftop bar were as well both were beautiful. Unfortunately I didn’t provide more stars because in both the pool area and rooftop bar the service was not good, even when not busy. I had to chase down waiters for service.

This hotel has many 5 star reviews probably because it is very grand and well situated however if you have any issues the level of customer service is terrible. We had 5 issues of varying severity. Our shower went from hot to cold 4 times and hotel did nothing. We insisted they did and eventually they moved our room. In the new room someone just waltzed in unannounced when were in. Very traumatising. To compensate hotel offered a complimentary meal. This was another disaster - very limited menu and then a dish with gluten presented to my wife who is celiac after she consulted the restaurant allergy list. Luckily the panko breadcrumbs were obvious but allergy issues can be very serious. I ate my meal in isolation as well and dessert was declined as we were appalled by the error. I wish we had not accepted their offer. Checking in was an issue as systems were down - staff did not manage the lengthy queue at all and we queued twice as room was not ready initially. Lastly the internet did not work on our iPhones. After we complained the staff blamed Apple for the issue - hardly a rare type of phone. Why not be proactive rather than wait for complaints? Basically the hotel could not manage issues and reception staff were arrogant and ineffective. I provided the hotel with my comments but nothing was responded to. We will not be returning.

What a wonderful hotel! My room was spacious with a small balcony. The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. Loved the area, walkable to town centre, the port and most museums. Gorgeous building

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, amazing staff, however, I didn’t love the location it was in. Quite a ride to town center.

This is a highend expensive hotel that we had great hopes for. But it reminded me of Trump rah Manal or other Atlantic City hotels of the 1990s. Felt dated and cheap and surprised it was done in 2017. It is also on a big noisy street across from the water. Overall not a bad hotel. Not worth the price and the location is suspect if you want to be near or in the old town of Malaga.

<30 min from Malaga airport by taxi. Across the road from beach. Hotel lovely and staff very helpful. Nothing to fault. Several restaurants within easy walking distance - largely flat. <15 min walk to old part of town. Quite a bit of outdoor foliage, that is close to seating, particularly if you have one of the garden rooms on the ground floor as we did. Recommend you take insect repellent as insects quite active around dusk. Would definitely stay there again. Ideal for short break.

Très bien un peu loin du centre à pied

location, Location, LOCATION ! And the people, and the property, and amentias... the list goes on! I can't begin to tell how nice this place is. ( I will try... though ) For us this hotel was a stretch $$$ wise, but after researching I thought what the heck, we'll make up for it by walking everywhere. And saving on stays at the secured playa's across the street. I was right on both accounts, the location is as magnificent as the weather was for our 2 week stay.(barely a cloud in the sky) You can walk pretty much everywhere from here, 20 mins to old town downtown. Alcazaba is pretty much out your back door, the beach across the street even if you want to venture further like the 45 min walk down the Blvd. (away from downtown) to blocks and blocks of seafood restaurants no problem. (even if Taxi's are pretty darn cheap justify it anyway!) The playa thing is a real deal... they charge $50 euros per person for the day minimum 2 beds. so if you like being on the beach under a tiki hut and having your belongings secured while you play in the Med.... this saves you HUGE Dollars! The hotel proper is amazing, it's clean super well maintained... every place is spotless. The pool is way bigger than it looks in pics a very pleasant surprise, it might look small because you have no idea of the size of the Miramar until you get there! Fantastisk hotell på alle måter, med unntak av glutenfritt til frokost. Forferdelig brød, ikke noe annet verken knekkebrød eller kaker av noe slag. Ikke 5 stjerner hotell verdig.

Very expensive restaurant by the pool

Nice Andalusian style hotel with great beach location and close to the historic center of Malaga. The only disappointment was food. Room service food quality was astonishingly subpar for a hotel of this scale.
