We came with high expectations and it was better than we expected. The dining choices were great, the grounds well kept and the rooms lovely. The weather allowed us to play lawn games as a family. Highly recommended

We stayed in a courtyard room. It was beautiful. Really warm and cosy. Beautiful bathroom with large walk-in shower. Kettle, tea, coffee,milk and biscuits provided. We had our dinner in the bar and the food was amazing as was the breakfast. The whole place is spotless. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. We had a walk through the forest. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you.Definitely recommend.

Fantastic place to stay even if just for one night as we did on our way back to Dublin AP. We got a large comfortable Courtside Suite fitted with a large KING bed perfect for a shining knight and me lady. We enjoyed a tasty white table cloth window view dinner (reservations recommended). After dinner and cocktails, we retired to our room only to see a great fireworks show right from our room window celebrating the bride and groom, married that day. This is a huge place and holds weddings almost on the daily, yet you don't really see the group much. There is a nice 2 mile walk through the woods and around the castle grounds which used to be a golf course, now a long private drive up to the castle. All meals are white table cloth with 4-5 star food with a moderately priced full wine list and a nice included free breakfast served at your table overlooking the castle grounds. The same table provided us a wonderful sunset for dinner. The only issue was the toilet flushing was a hit and miss effort only working about 15% of the time. Seems like it just needed an adjustment. All and all not a big deal considering this place was built in 1699, is quite large, very historical with several drinking and dining venues, throughout and a very unique stay.

We stayed in one of the lodges, a short walk from the Castle building. Grounds are parkland style. Note that the the golf course that may be mentioned in other reviews is not there anymore. The castle itself is an interesting building, nicely furnished and restored. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were good quality and had good service.

Beautiful . Can't fault Cabra castle in any way. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Also the cleanliness was top notch. The beds were so comfortable (had two nights in the castle room and one in the lodge) I've never slept so well in a long time. Would definitely recommend, especially when they have the spa and wellness facilities. The food was absolutely delicious (wedding party) even distributing chicken and chips in cones later in the evening . The Irish breakfasts ensured i got up and raced to the dining area in the morning (something i never do anywhere else) Wish i was still there!

The grounds and castle are beautiful. We wanted to stay in a castle so I made this reservation, however, when we checked in we were put into one of their lodge rooms so we were somewhat disappointed. The water was off in our room because maintenance wasn’t expecting anyone to stay there (they did come quickly to remedy the situation).The carpeting on the stairs to our room are in need of a good cleaning and we’re loose in some laces. The carpeting in our room also need a good cleaning. The bed was comfortable and we did have a nice view of the grassy area. Dinner in the bar was excellent as well as breakfast in the morning.

The hotel was excellent in every way, staff were exceptional, food was 5 star and the whole experience was 1st class. We spent new year here and stayed in the lodge. The room was spotless and very well equipped.

We stayed two nights after being there previously for a wedding. It was lovely. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have made us more welcome nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the cottages a two minute stroll from the castle itself. A beautiful quite spot and the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had breakfast and dinner both days, the food was wonderful. Couldn't speak highly enough.... a lovely place and hope to visit again in the future.

Comfortable beds, large room, very regal. I felt like royalty. The bathroom was large with a huge shower. The grounds were lovely, the restaurant had great food, and I really enjoyed looking around. Had a safe snd fridge. Lots of electrical outlets.

Lovely venue. Grounds are beautiful. Beds very comfortable and rooms are a very generous size. Only grumble is the sound insulation, difficult to tackle in an old castle I’d concede but the people above or to the side don’t have to be particularly loud before it becomes intrusive. Beautiful, quaint property, friendly staff. Only thing was that you could hear everything from the rooms and it was very noisy. Every time the people in the room across the hall came in and out their room, it sounded like they were trying to unlock our door that’s how loud it was. Besides that it was a stunning place!

The castle was made into an amazing historic hotel complete with so much original architecture. We stayed in one of the cottages which were new builds but so well designed that you might think you were in part of a historic castle. The cottage was very spacious and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable.

We stayed on night in Courtyard rooms and one night in Castle! We enjoyed both for different reasons. Would next time hope to get a castle room with window looking out to the gardens but have to say the castle room was quiet and bed very comfortable. The food was lovely we had restaurant dinner one night and bar food the following night. Would recommend crab starter on Restaurant’s menu, chicken wings and fish and chips on Derby Bar menu! Because we were moving rooms they actually had castle room for us to move to instead of having to wait until 3pm to check in again! All the staff are so nice and so attentive would highly recommend!

I cannot rave about our stay here enough! Every aspect is truly first class. We stayed here for my mother’s 75th birthday. They made her feel so special all day from lunch at the bar to dinner at the restaurant no detail was missed. Food and drinks were excellent at both. The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are spacious (we booked superior room). But what shined the most was the staff, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We had an early departure and the staff had a to go coffee ready before we departed, so many little extra touches like this made this a fabulous stay!

Cabra Castle is beautiful and all parts beautifully maintained. It is like waking through a period drama. The staff were friendly and helpful and attentive to our needs. The dining area for breakfast is so elegant and the breakfast itself delicious and beautifully presented. A real treat to stay here. Thank you to the staff at Cabra.

Lovely property and surrounding area. Just note that it’s heavily used for weddings so expect music to be heard in your bedroom until late in the evening. Staff were also very friendly and accommodating but more could be on hand when the restaurant/bar is busy to cater for the numbers.

Everything you would expect in an Irish castle along with 5 star service. My wife has mobility issues so we had to change rooms. Nothing but smiles and helpful faces. Offers were made for a cart to pick us up and a special passage to get her to the breakfast room without stairs. Also tons of help with directions and things to do. The room was fit for royalty. Hated to leave but our carriage turned back into a pumpkin the next morning.

Start to finish a truly wonderful experience for my wife's 70th.birthday, unfortunately the breakfast was a bit of a let down ie. The website was misleading as to the type of rooms. it shows the cottages having a balcony or a patio. My room had neither. Our party had book 3 rooms. I had requested a ground floor room due to a disability.Members of our party arrived at different times. Unfortunately they gave that room to the member of the party that arrived first rather than the person who booked the room.

A wonderful stay, the drive up to Castle sets you up for what's in store. Check in smooth and very quick, room fantastic, grounds amazing ! Staff was extremely kind and helpful! Food was great and walking the grounds was very charming. We had a hard time getting to the castle relying on public transportation. I would suggest providing a shuttle or taxi service information for travelers without personal transportation.

From the Hotels.com information I thought that the hotel was in the centre of Kingscourt but it is on the outskirts and certainly not walking distance. The location is very picturesque and the grounds are well maintained. Without exception the staff were helpful and friendly and are a great asset to their employer. We had a room in a lodge which is not in the main building and was comfortable and clean with a decent shower, linen and toiletries. I would have had an excellent night's sleep if it hadn't been for the rowdy guests who returned in the middle of the night to move furniture and continue partying.

Our stay was absolutely fabulous! The room we had was beautiful and clean. I think we had the best night's sleep of our life on the most comfortable bed ever. The castle grounds were so pretty and easy to walk around. Dining experiences were wonderful and delicious.

We stayed in one of the lodges, a short walk from the Castle building. Grounds are parkland style. Note that the the golf course that may be mentioned in other reviews is not there anymore. The castle itself is an interesting building, nicely furnished and restored. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were good quality and had good service.

Very large comfortable room. Bed was great. We were fortunate to be there between rains or getting to the hotel restaurant from the courtyard rooms would have likely gotten us wet. Beautiful woodlands surrounding the castle. Lots of interesting history too.

Great gem of a hotel stay. It felt like staying in a museaum at times. Very unique experience. We stayed in the stables rooms and they were beautiful. Out of the way but not a bad thing. Restful and relaxing stay. Staff could not have been friendiler.

The Property was wonderful, especially enjoyed the courtyard rooms. However, I was at a wedding at the staff did not even offer to provide an napkin with the Hor d'oeurves. It was a pretty upscale wedding and I the catering was done in house. The food was just okay, overdone beef and duck. The Breakfast was perfect.

This was a wonderful castle stay. They front desk staff were freindly and knowledgeable . As this was our first trip to Ireland on a self guided tour it was very helpful the staff at this property were wonderful. Very attentive to guests needs. They had the best fish and chips out of everywhere we ate in Ireland !!! And breakfast was superb. Thank you

What a pleasant surprise. The front desk and services were very helpful and timely. It was only an overnight stay but we wished we had more time to visit. The castle and grounds brought you back to the medieval times. Gardens were beautiful!! We trally enjoyed our brief stay.
