We booked a weekend stay with the intension of surfing nearby breaks. Prior to arriving I corresponded with the front desk to line up a guide and surfboard and they assured me that it would be arranged but when I arrived. However, I was told that the guide never replied and there is not a nearby surf shop, so everything seemed up in the air. When we were showed our room, we were very underwhelmed as it was dark, windows were dirty, floor was sticky, and it smelled musty. After sitting down to lunch - which was just OK, we decided that this is not the right fit especially if the surf guide/board is up in the air and staying in a tired hotel with a small pool will only go so far so we booked another hotel on the south coast. I explained that we are leaving with all the above points to the front desk, asked that if they can return a night or two in good will but not a chance and he started on about how they were fully booked instead as if I should feel bad about leaving..

The staff at the Atlantis were very helpful. Anthony & Ophia made sure our short stay was comfortable. The property has hiking close by and a beautiful view of Bathsheba and the ocean.

Great place on nice and quiet side of island. Has sister inn on West side so can take bus to go there and use those facilities. Can walk to Bathsheba beach for surfing. Great staff! Good food.

Quiet surf town. Can use sister hotel on west coast. Very nice staff. Need car or will have to ise bus/taxi to get around if you want to explore other parts of island. I had i ocean view room so slept wonderfully to the waves all night. East side is not for swimming.

What a fantastic stay! Couldn’t get more Oceanside big great pool and pool side area perfect and steel drums and other music perfect volume and selection …room spacious super comfortable and ALL staff was fabulous made me feel pampered special and like family they care! Highly recommend and next visit I’ll be spending more time here! Food delicious also fruit punch the best!!! Can’t say enough good go visit enjoy for yourselves!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Atlantis, everyone was super helpful and the hotel was great, even though we were there during the off-season. Really enjoyed the pool and the serene views from the 2-bedroom apartment. The East Coast is beautiful, and this Historic Inn is very charming, as it used to be a railway station... the authentic feel makes this Inn a great option for those who wish to experience the quieter side of Barbados.

The pool was sheltered from the wind We ate in the restaurant each evening and had very good meals with the best rum punch on Island Only think to comment on was that the shower could do with updating but room size was fabulous and bed super comfortable

A wonderful old, colonial era hotel right on the water. Tons of history, amazing service, and a great restaurant right on site. Excellent getaway if you’re looking for somewhere quiet, without many distractions.

Right on the coast. Large rooms that are not boring/generic. Nice common areas. Numerous historic pictures on the walls. Friendly staff. Nice welcome drink and nice dinner & breakfast. Will definitely come back.

Historic hotel with lovely views, nice onsite restaurant and bar, decent pool, and coastal walking trail that goes directly north-south. Most importantly, a very friendly staff that you will know well by check-out. Felt like an old-timey inn experience. Fantastic!

Very nice place ; simple , and very affordable . At first doesn’t seem like much , but the in room cleaning is very well done , rooms are neat and lovely. I ordered food multiple times in room service , and it was wonderful. the view from the rooms beats many 5 star resorts honestly . highly recommend

I so wanted to love this hotel but it was underwhelming, a bit tired, lacking in much atmosphere, and the staff, whilst polite, were not overly helpful or accommodating. We were also extremely annoyed to find out we had been booked on a room only basis when it had been made out to be on a bed and breakfast basis. This was completely misleading and the hotel staff were unhelpful and unwilling to do anything to make up for this issue. So we ate elsewhere. Our coastal room was large, clean and classically stylish - but looked out on a generator and had nearby dogs barking constantly from 6am - so book an ocean view to avoid this! The in-room fridge was in dire need of replacement as it was rusty and not somewhere to keep fresh food or drink. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom and our toilet seat was broken. These things are not reflective of the hotel prices and made for an overall disappointing stay. There are better places to stay nearby in my opinion with better amenities. The Atlantis needs a refurb and some love injected back into it as the location is stunning on the East Coast and it has a lot of history…It seemed to be a bit forgotten and unloved by its current owners…

This is a really beautiful small hotel. The views from the restaurant are exceptional. The staff are really friendly and attentive. We had a garden room which was bright, clean and spacious. Sadly I think we had the room with the worst view over the garden section that housed the water and gas tanks. Other than that we were very, very happy with our stay here.

It’s a beautiful, rustic property, located in the East coast of the island. The views are amazing as it overlooks the sea. Do note that it’s pretty far out from most popular and tourist attractions (35 mins drive). It’s not bad during the day but at night it seemed tedious to drive back to the hotel, with not so great roads. I did however appreciate the countryside and the contrast of there to the South side. Definitely rent a car if you’re staying here. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and the staff were helpful. It’s more of a self service type of stay, although there’s a restaurant on site.

The Atlantis Inn fulfilled all our expectations. The views are amazing! The room was clean and nice. The staff were all exceptionally helpful, friendly and welcoming! The bed mattress’s could be more comfortable, the windows/balcony doors need room darkening shades or curtains.

The two bedroom cottage was an absolute delight to stay in. Well appointed in a rustic way, breezy, directly ocean front and very peaceful and quiet. The hotel’s restaurant is also fabulous and we can’t wait to return!

What a magical place, we had an ocean side veiw and slept so soundly under the beautiful comforter to the sounds of the sea lapping the shore. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Breathtaking views

I so wanted to love this hotel but it was underwhelming, a bit tired, lacking in much atmosphere, and the staff, whilst polite, were not overly helpful or accommodating. We were also extremely annoyed to find out we had been booked on a room only basis when it had been made out to be on a bed and breakfast basis. This was completely misleading and the hotel staff were unhelpful and unwilling to do anything to make up for this issue. So we ate elsewhere. Our coastal room was large, clean and classically stylish - but looked out on a generator and had nearby dogs barking constantly from 6am - so book an ocean view to avoid this! The in-room fridge was in dire need of replacement as it was rusty and not somewhere to keep fresh food or drink. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom and our toilet seat was broken. These things are not reflective of the hotel prices and made for an overall disappointing stay. There are better places to stay nearby in my opinion with better amenities. The Atlantis needs a refurb and some love injected back into it as the location is stunning on the East Coast and it has a lot of history…It seemed to be a bit forgotten and unloved by its current owners…

Prior to arriving I corresponded with the front desk to line up a guide and surfboard and they assured me that it would be arranged but when I arrived. However, I was told that the guide never replied and there is not a nearby surf shop, so everything seemed up in the air. When we were showed our room, we were very underwhelmed as it was dark, windows were dirty, floor was sticky, and it smelled musty. After sitting down to lunch - which was just OK, we decided that this is not the right fit especially if the surf guide/board is up in the air and staying in a tired hotel with a small pool will only go so far so we booked another hotel on the south coast. I explained that we are leaving with all the above points to the front desk, asked that if they can return a night or two in good will but not a chance and he started on about how they were fully booked instead as if I should feel bad about leaving..

After five years, we finally returned to the Atlantis Historic Inn. It is situated on the East Coast of Barbados in Bathsheba, just above the shores of the Atlantic. We have come to the Atlantis year after year to regenerate and enjoy the beautiful Historic Inn, nestled in the hillside just above the surf. It is a relatively small Inn and beautifully appointed, whether your room overlooks the water or the quieter garden rooms. It has a very charming outdoor dining area with the adjacent pool. Antonio Millar, hotel manager couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. Quiet surf town. Can use sister hotel on west coast. Very nice staff. Need car or will have to ise bus/taxi to get around if you want to explore other parts of island. I had i ocean view room so slept wonderfully to the waves all night. East side is not for swimming.

Couldn’t get more Oceanside big great pool and pool side area perfect and steel drums and other music perfect volume and selection …room spacious super comfortable and ALL staff was fabulous made me feel pampered special and like family they care! Wonderful historic hotel, on a quiet part of the island. Still good bus links to Bridgetown and Speightstown though. Lovely attentive staff and a beautiful room. Wednesday nights at the local ‘De Garage’ pub are also brilliant.

Atlantis is beautiful, the staff are great, and the east coast is a wonderful peaceful place. We've stayed before and always enjoy our stay. You'll need a car - there isn't much in terms of supermarket or dining etc nearby, altho "De Garage" is just around the corner and they make some great food and have basic items like snacks etc. All in all, a great experience as always :)

It’s a beautiful, rustic property, located in the East coast of the island. The views are amazing as it overlooks the sea. Do note that it’s pretty far out from most popular and tourist attractions (35 mins drive). It’s not bad during the day but at night it seemed tedious to drive back to the hotel, with not so great roads. I did however appreciate the countryside and the contrast of there to the South side. Definitely rent a car if you’re staying here. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and the staff were helpful. It’s more of a self service type of stay, although there’s a restaurant on site.

Our stay in the apartment was amazing value. The beds were very comfortable and the utilities were of excellent quality. The place felt very luxurious! The staff were very friendly and attentive serving up some delicious food and cocktails too!
