Atzavara Hotel & Spa

The hotel is stunning — spacious, modern rooms, great bars and restaurants, and a fantastic pool area. However, there are a few drawbacks: there’s no beach access (areal photos are misleading), and frequent corporate events with loud music often go on until midnight, which can spoil the atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is extensive, but the quality doesn’t fully match a true 5-star standard. Overall, an impressive place, just not ideal if you’re after quiet relaxation.

Let's start with the cons. #1 The bathroom is open plan - meaning that the sinks are not private. Nor is the bath. And the toilet itself offers very little privacy. You have to ask your partner to put in their earplugs when you go to the toilet. Also no small sink in toilet to wash hands. You have to come out to wash down in the open. In my experience, no matter how long you have known your partner - and no matter how much in love you may be - you do not want them to hear your noises on the toilet. You still want some privacy when performing in the bathroom. #2 If you book full board which means breakfast and evening buffet, you will not get any water (not even tap water) with your meal unless you pay for it. All drinks have to be paid for. They don't even provide coffee. At breakfast, you get everything without extra charge. #3 They hold corporate events which means some areas - like the bars and pools - get closed for the other guests. And these events can be noisy. Everything else is perfect. Great staff, super clean place, great rooms if you pick Junior suite and a decent choice at breakfast. Overall I give it 7/10

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à l’Atzavara Hotel & Spa ! L’établissement est superbe, moderne et très bien entretenu. Le personnel est accueillant, souriant et toujours disponible pour aider. Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et bien équipées, avec une literie de grande qualité. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent : beaucoup de choix et des produits frais. Les piscines et le spa sont magnifiques, parfaits pour se détendre. L’hôtel est aussi idéalement situé, à deux pas de la plage et proche des commerces. Un vrai coup de cœur — nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Alles wirklich tip top, super Anlage. Alles neu und sauber. Personal sehr freundlich. Essen ausgezeichnet. Frühstücksbufffet sehr groß, auch sehr gut, aber immer das selbe. Das einzige was man bemängeln könnte ist das man fürs parken extra zahlen muss ind auch für den kleinen Wellnessbereich zahlt man für 1,5h EUR 20.- pro Person.

We verbleven een week in Atzavara en in het algemeen hebben we er een mooie tijd gehad. Het hotel is heel stijlvol en de kamers zijn ruim. Ze werden elke dag grondig onderhouden door de housekeeping, wat we echt wisten te waarderen. Fijn ook dat er een combinatie van bad en douche is, want thuis hebben we geen bad. Het hotel heeft veel bars en gezellige plekken om iets te drinken. Soms sloten die echter vroeger dan aangekondigd of bleken ze onverwacht privé, waardoor je plots alleen nog in één bar terechtkon. Daar waren dan soms enkel natte stoelen beschikbaar of stond de muziek heel luid binnen. Qua personeel hadden we wisselende ervaringen: sommige medewerkers waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam, anderen straalden eerder uit dat ze hier liever niet stonden. De zwembaden en ligplekken zijn een groot pluspunt: heel veel ruimte en geen gevecht om een bedje te vinden. Wel waren de meeste zwembaden behoorlijk koud; voor een vijfsterrenhotel zou lichte verwarming welkom zijn. Pas later ontdekten we dat er toch één warmer zwembad bestaat, maar dit staat nergens vermeld en is bovendien een pak kleiner. Begrijpelijk dat het daardoor rustiger blijft, maar het zou fijn zijn als alle zwembaden die aangename temperatuur hadden. De redders aan het zwembad zijn bovendien erg streng en er mag geen muziek gespeeld worden, wat de sfeer soms wat minder maakt. Ook de bediening aan de poolbar kan beter: het is niet duidelijk dat er eigenlijk maar één bar voor de zwembaden is, waardoor er l

El hotel es una maravilla. La habitacion, el personal, las zonas comunes. Las piscinas de niños con el agua templada un top. Lástima que ahora cobren [y no poco) por las balinesas.

Hands down the best thing about this hotel is the breakfast. Funnily enough, a friend who had stayed here a few years remembered this when I said I had made the booking, and boy was he not wrong. The staff are also incredibly helpful and friendly, and the rooms spacious, modern, and comfortable. We had a sea view room and the view from the balcony was indeed stunning. Lots of great entertainment at the bar downstairs, and we caught a couple of very cool acts on two different nights. Onsite facilities like the tennis courts, the (huge) gym, and the yoga classes are an added bonus. It's absolutely perfect for a wellness getaway. The city centre is about a 20-minute bus ride away, and the bus stops are just outside the property perimeter. The little town that's sort of adjacent is a little more rundown, but the seaside boardwalk probably gets very busy during summer. We went off-season and it was pretty calm, though we found one excellent fish restaurant not too far away.

Had a wonderful time- enjoyed all the pools especially the Bamboo rooftop. Activities and shows were fun, buffet was so good and loved the option to eat at Botanic for breakfasts and a dinner with upgrade. Staff were always friendly. Highly recommended!

Our experience was good overall, with some things being very good and others being a disappointment. Almost every time we attempted to call reception from our room we could not get through. The adult only pool regularly had children swimming in it, and it was difficult to find sun beds as people would leave their towels from early in the morning. The gym had some pro workout equipment, but only very light free weights available which were locked in a cupboard. The things we enjoyed the most were the restaurants (including the buffets), the roof top pool (although this was an additional charge), the spa, the rooms, some of the areas in the hotel which look lovely, easy access to car park, and some of the staff members who were helpful. The hotel is very big, and depending on where your room is, a lot of walking may be required to get to the lifts or reception. In some ways this felt more like a 4 star than a 5 star. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but there are areas that the hotel could improve in.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to my friends and family, just the smell in the giant entrance/lobby area itself was enough, smells lovely 24/7 and its extremely clean with refreshments provided! We got a glass of cava on arrival, and on another day when it was their 3rd birthday they left cakes and drinks for all the guests. They also had juice and water and sweets for guests too. Lots of staff on the check in desk. There is so many pools, including a roof top one which was unreal and had a live singer and saxophonist! Felt so luxurious! The drinks are amazing, especially the frozen strawberry daiquiri! There are a few restaurants to choose from too, really nice and fancy but not over priced, just fairly priced. The gardening is gorgeous all around, so aesthetically pleasing everywhere you look. The breakfast was fantastic, there is so many stations with everything to choose from and its constantly topped up, like they just dont run low on anything, even at the end, was amazed by it, never experienced anything like it. Rooms are soundproof and clean. Cleaners came every day to change the towels and bedding

L'hôtel est très joli, et très moderne mais la propreté est juste et le gros point négatif est le manque d'insonorisation des chambres. On entend les voisins du dessus marché et les murs tremblent quand une porte claque dans le couloir. En point positif le petit déjeuner et le personnel très agréable.

L’hôtel est propre,le personnel charmant et serviable.Par contre,dans ma chambre,j’ai vu à deux reprises,un « insecte »qui se trouve dans les endroits humides,et qu’on appelle communément « poisson d’argent « Sinon,rien à dire,j’y retournerai avec beaucoup de plaisir

The property is gorgeous. We had a suite that included a private terrace and pool which was stunning. The main pool area is beautiful as well. The breakfast buffet has a wide assortment. The minor negatives are; the hallways are very dark at night and the hallway carpets were really dirty.

L’hôtel est absolument sublime, tout est très moderne, très joli, autant les espaces communs que les chambres. Malheureusement il y a également pas mal d’aspects négatifs que je tiens a souligner pour les prochains résidents : 1. Les chambres ne sont pas du tout insonorisés, c’est à dire que vous entendez absolument tout ce qui se passe dans le couloir et les chambres adjacentes, vous entendez également la musique diffusée dans les couleurs. C’est vraiment la grosse bête noir de cette hôtel si cous venez vous reposer vous allez être déçu c’est extrêmement bruyant. 2. Il y a 4 ascenseurs qui fonctionnent très mal, nous devions parfois attendre plus de 5-10 min pour voir arriver l’ascenseur à notre étage. 3. Le buffet est bon, la nourriture est particulièrement qualitative mais tellement répétitif qu’au bout de 3/4 jours nous nous sommes lassés. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est exactement le même tous les jours. Le prix des softs est exorbitant : 3.50€ pour un cocoa 237ml. 4. Le coin piscine « adult only » est finalement bien plus bruyant que les autres coins piscine, c’est très dommage. 5. Le ménage est extrêmement mal fait, le sol n’a jamais été nettoyé et les verres étaient rarement changés… De plus, la dame de ménage nous a pris notre carte de la chambre que nous avions laisser dans la chambre, deux fois, pourquoi ? nous n’avons pas eu d’explication. Dans l’ensemble c’était quand même un bon séjour, nous avons eu un super temps début octobre.

Grounds and hotel were immaculate, if the maids couldnt make up your room first thing they made sure to come back later so always spotless. Only small gripe, pillows weren't that comfy. Otherwise 5☆

Wir hatten eine Junoirsuite mit Meerblick und Halbpension. Es war ein super toller Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war modern eingerichtet, mit Balkon zum Meer einfach fantastisch. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und genauso das Abendbuffet.Es gibt auch ein Bahnhof, in der Nähe von dort kann man direkt nach Barcelona .Die Pools waren sauber und der Bereich ist schön angelegt, es gibt auch genügend Liegen. Die Zimmer wurden täglich gereinigt.Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt.Ein Aufenthalt in dem Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert.

Comparing to other hotels in Santa Susanna is this the cleanest and best one. The breakfast was also good! I think the hotel can invest more on wifi network. The wifi was really worst. The toilet were see-through and not soundproofed. It was not comfortable too use.

All perfect, except the A/C isn't working during the spring time.

- Check-in experience was slow but reception staff apologetic and we received a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. - Rooms are well appointed, but because of tiled floors and thin walls/ceilings you can hear scraping of furniture by guests late at night and by cleaners early mornings. The road behind the hotel where our room was facing was noisy at night, with drivers revving and speeding - maybe install speed bumps to discourage this? - Cleaners chatting loudly and shouting instructions to each other in the corridor and neighbouring rooms from 8 a.m. (during a weekend break, this is not ideal...) - Pool areas very nice, clean and a good number of sunbeds with umbrellas and efficient towel service. - Breakfast buffet good, with a good selection of hot and cold food, cheeses, fruits, juices and decent coffee. A shame it didn't extend slightly later at weekends. Dinner buffet had an excellent salad bar but was overall less impressive, with a limited number of vegetarian mains and overcooked seafood and meat dishes (my guess is much of the cooking was done from frozen given the texture). It was also a shame that "Botanic" didn't offer any vegetarian main courses, otherwise we would probably have tried that too. That said, the "Bali" restaurant was again excellent and well worth a visit. - Check out after 11 a.m. (a little early given check in is from 3 p.m.) not possible due to the arrival of a large group, but we were able to store luggage and use the pool facilities.

Overall it was good, but didn't feel like 5-stars. Acoustic is bad ( heard high hills noises from the corridor and the upper floor, cleaning team starting moving furniture early in the morning). No beverages at dinner ( even water), spa was overpriced for what you get, no netflix etc. Adding these little extra features will help feeling more welcome. We felt rushed by the staff during the meals and the cleaning team entered our room before 10 am while we were there.

Hotel und Zimmer sind sehr schön. Lage des Zimmers eher ungünstig wenn eine Großveranstaltung im Hinterland ist und man nachts die Fenster geöffnet haben möchte. Wir hatten eine Woche lang Oktoberfestbeschallung bis spät in die Nacht.

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Dining onsite which is good because there isn’t much outside of the hotel. My family did walk to a grocery store which was about 15 mins away a few times. The pool area is amazing. Breakfast has a nice selection and was inclusive. What put me off was they refused to give me a box because I wasn’t “leaving for a flight”.. I ended up skipping breakfast that day. They did have laundry services there which I used without issue but at first when I tried to get someone to pick up my clothes and the sheet I filled out for it they told me I had to use the app. The app is very poorly designed so after struggling 1/2 an hour I just dropped it off at the front desk. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just take someone’s order from their room. Anyways all in all it was a good stay just a few incidences which needed work.

We’ve been here 2 times and This year however we were particularly disappointed with the service, it’s no way near the level of a 5-star rating and it has gotten worse than last year: - 2 days in a row we booked room service via the so-called “smart QR code system “ but as the food was supposed to come, we find out by ourselves, that the order never went through and we need to call via phone to fix this. - At the pool area the service is particularly disappointing. Normally at a five star hotel, You will have staff walking around and asking the customers all the time if they need anything and if they want to order anything and they will be back with it shortly. We experienced two times that we asked a staff member if we could order something and they said that they would be back but they just never came back so apparently they are not interested in satisfying customers and / or making money. - At the Ginger pool bar / snack restaurant the staff is friendly but you had to wait in line for about 20 minutes just to get to Coca-Cola, even though there were seven or eight staff members behind the bar ! Again: NOT 5-star service as we are used to from other 5 star providers. - We paid xtra for a Bali Bed by the pool, and the booking included water as stated online when you booked. We just never got the water even though a staff member came (after we had the bed for 5 hours!) and said she’d bring it. Service and lack of structure/ overview of customer needs is a huge issue!

L’hôtel est sympa et les chambres sont belles mais cet hôtel est une usine, beaucoup d’attente le matin pour le petit dej et à 10h30 on se fait virer par le personnel qui passe plusieurs fois pour dire qu’il faut partir, c’est pénible. Le 2e jour un groupe de jeunes faisait beaucoup de bruit à la piscine adultes et après avoir demandé au groupe de faire moins de bruit et avoir expliqué au gars de la sécurité que c’était gênant il répétait inlassablement « what’s the problem? » Enfin au moment du départ la responsable de l’accueil n’en avait rien à faire de notre statut Gold et ne voulait pas nous accorder un check-out tardif car elle s’en « foutait du statut Gold » Inadmissible. Impossible que dans un hôtel de 400 chambres on ne puisse pas en laisser qq unes disponibles jusqu’à 14h alors que les arrivants sont censés récupérer leur chambre après 15h.

Great hotel with fantastic facilities but definitely a lack of service from staff in all restaurants.

We arrived as a large group of families, everything was excellent, quality of service and cleanliness. Very nice staff in all departments, highly recommended.

I can't say that this hotel is bad, but several moments ruined good impression, mostly about the service (or lack of normal service). As an example, in the room for 3 people we found only 2 glasses and 1 vanity kit, and bed for 1 person was without normal size pillow. We requested extra glass and pillow from reception, it didn't help. Finally, in the last evening, we tried to boil water for the cup of tea in the kettle (provided by hotel) in our room. As a result, water and chemical foam (it looked like foam from some washing detergent) came out of kettle (it was properly closed BTW), spilled on the table and scared us. When we came to reception to complain about it, receptionist Mir didn't even said that he is sorry about this situation - he started to ask questions like 'what did you put in the kettle', being extremely rude. This situation and the fact, that other receptionist didn't warn my friends before they left the hotel, that the day they were leaving, the road in front of hotel is completely blocked by the market and the bus have no chance to pick them up (even though they discussed that my friends plan to take the bus next morning). I don't recommend to stay in this hotel, the service there doesn't meet any expectations for 5 starts hotel (or good hotel in general)

Heel goed hotel. Alles was super behalve het eten was vaak koud live cooking en salades waren goed . Heel veel en lekker brood en toetjes. Heel veel keuze. Drank iets aan de dure kant. Mooie zwembaden, wel erg koud! Trein station aan de overkant. Strand gescheiden door spoorweg. Dat is wel jammer. Best gezellige boulevard.

Kjempefint hotell for avslapping. Fint bassengområde og god frokost. Velger man et av rommene med eget basseng kan man ikke få det bedre. Beliggenheten (les Santa Susanna) er ikke bra, men kort vei inn til Blanes og Llorret de Mar. Anbefaler ingen spisesteder i Santa Susanna.

Das Zimmer Junior Suite war geräumig mit Meerblick sehr schön und sehr sauber, die Pools sind sehr schön, die Parkmöglichkeit beim Hotel ist sehr gut. Der Strand ist in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Das Frühstücksbuffet sehr reichhaltig ebenso das Abendbuffet. An manchen Tagen war etwas mehr Betrieb am Buffet war aber okay. Wir haben ein Upgrade erhalten, da es bereits unser 2.ter Aufenthalt im Atzavara Hotel war. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Super séjour. Bon emplacement à quelques metres de la station de train qui va a barcelone et a d autres stations. Petit dej et diner buffet excellents, personnel hyper sympa et serviable. Piscines au top dans un jardin verdoyant, super plage a 10min a pied.

Amazing hotel, lots of sun loungers, great food, lovely staff. Area outside of hotel is not particularly beautiful with a train line in front of hotel so we never actually managed to make it on the beach

Flott hotell for barnefamilier. Supert basseng område, de fineste på Santa Susanna. Litt lite å ta seg til på kvelden utenfor hotellet. Nydelig og ren strand rett utenfor.

Das gesamte Hotel ist schön eingerichtet. Wir hatten ein Dreierzimmer und für alles genug Platz. Das Frühstück hat eine riesen Auswahl von herzhaften bis süßen Speisen und alles schmeckt sehr gut. Je nach Uhrzeit ist viel los, manchmal musste man 5 Minuten warten bis man einen Tisch bekommen hat, länger aber nicht. Der Poolbereich ist groß und wir hatten immer freie Liegen zur Verfügung. Um die Ecke ist die Zugstation mit der man in ca. 1h in Barcelona ist. Aus Santa Susanna kann man sich ebenso Blanes anschauen. Wir würden jedem das Hotel empfehlen :)

Vi havde et rigtig dejligt ophold på Atzavara Hotel i Santa Susanna. Værelset var rummeligt og komfortabelt, og vi følte os hurtigt hjemme. Hotellets buffet fortjener virkelig at blive fremhævet – det er uden tvivl den bedste, vi nogensinde har oplevet. Udvalget var stort, kvaliteten af maden var i topklasse, og de var samtidig utroligt gode til allergener. I vores tilfælde med glutenallergi var det en kæmpe lettelse, at alle retter var tydeligt mærket med små skilte, så det var nemt og trygt at finde rundt. Poolområdet var også en stor fornøjelse, især den særskilte “adult-only” pool, hvor stemningen var rolig og afslappende. Det gav et ekstra pift af luksus til oplevelsen. Det eneste store minus var, at der var tilladt at ryge på alle udeområder. Mange gæster benyttede sig af det, og derfor var der desværre ofte en gennemtrængende lugt af røg, som ødelagde den ellers skønne atmosfære. Alt i alt et hotel med meget høj standard, hvor især maden, de gode forhold for allergikere og faciliteterne gør det til et besøg værd – men man skal være forberedt på, at cigaretrøg kan være en gennemgående del af oplevelsen.

The hotel is stunning — spacious, modern rooms, great bars and restaurants, and a fantastic pool area. However, there are a few drawbacks: there’s no beach access (areal photos are misleading), and frequent corporate events with loud music often go on until midnight, which can spoil the atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is extensive, but the quality doesn’t fully match a true 5-star standard. Overall, an impressive place, just not ideal if you’re after quiet relaxation.

Let's start with the cons. #1 The bathroom is open plan - meaning that the sinks are not private. Nor is the bath. And the toilet itself offers very little privacy. You have to ask your partner to put in their earplugs when you go to the toilet. Also no small sink in toilet to wash hands. You have to come out to wash down in the open. In my experience, no matter how long you have known your partner - and no matter how much in love you may be - you do not want them to hear your noises on the toilet. You still want some privacy when performing in the bathroom. #2 If you book full board which means breakfast and evening buffet, you will not get any water (not even tap water) with your meal unless you pay for it. All drinks have to be paid for. They don't even provide coffee. At breakfast, you get everything without extra charge. #3 They hold corporate events which means some areas - like the bars and pools - get closed for the other guests. And these events can be noisy. Everything else is perfect. Great staff, super clean place, great rooms if you pick Junior suite and a decent choice at breakfast. Overall I give it 7/10

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour à l’Atzavara Hotel & Spa ! L’établissement est superbe, moderne et très bien entretenu. Le personnel est accueillant, souriant et toujours disponible pour aider. Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et bien équipées, avec une literie de grande qualité. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent : beaucoup de choix et des produits frais. Les piscines et le spa sont magnifiques, parfaits pour se détendre. L’hôtel est aussi idéalement situé, à deux pas de la plage et proche des commerces. Un vrai coup de cœur — nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

- Check-in experience was slow but reception staff apologetic and we received a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. - Rooms are well appointed, but because of tiled floors and thin walls/ceilings you can hear scraping of furniture by guests late at night and by cleaners early mornings. The road behind the hotel where our room was facing was noisy at night, with drivers revving and speeding - maybe install speed bumps to discourage this? - Cleaners chatting loudly and shouting instructions to each other in the corridor and neighbouring rooms from 8 a.m. (during a weekend break, this is not ideal...) - Pool areas very nice, clean and a good number of sunbeds with umbrellas and efficient towel service. - Breakfast buffet good, with a good selection of hot and cold food, cheeses, fruits, juices and decent coffee. A shame it didn't extend slightly later at weekends. Dinner buffet had an excellent salad bar but was overall less impressive, with a limited number of vegetarian mains and overcooked seafood and meat dishes (my guess is much of the cooking was done from frozen given the texture). It was also a shame that "Botanic" didn't offer any vegetarian main courses, otherwise we would probably have tried that too. That said, the "Bali" restaurant was again excellent and well worth a visit. - Check out after 11 a.m. (a little early given check in is from 3 p.m.) not possible due to the arrival of a large group, but we were able to store luggage and use the pool facilities.

Overall it was good, but didn't feel like 5-stars. Acoustic is bad ( heard high hills noises from the corridor and the upper floor, cleaning team starting moving furniture early in the morning). No beverages at dinner ( even water), spa was overpriced for what you get, no netflix etc. Adding these little extra features will help feeling more welcome. We felt rushed by the staff during the meals and the cleaning team entered our room before 10 am while we were there.

L’hôtel est sympa et les chambres sont belles mais cet hôtel est une usine, beaucoup d’attente le matin pour le petit dej et à 10h30 on se fait virer par le personnel qui passe plusieurs fois pour dire qu’il faut partir, c’est pénible. Le 2e jour un groupe de jeunes faisait beaucoup de bruit à la piscine adultes et après avoir demandé au groupe de faire moins de bruit et avoir expliqué au gars de la sécurité que c’était gênant il répétait inlassablement « what’s the problem? » Enfin au moment du départ la responsable de l’accueil n’en avait rien à faire de notre statut Gold et ne voulait pas nous accorder un check-out tardif car elle s’en « foutait du statut Gold » Inadmissible. Impossible que dans un hôtel de 400 chambres on ne puisse pas en laisser qq unes disponibles jusqu’à 14h alors que les arrivants sont censés récupérer leur chambre après 15h.
