The Breakfast staff were fabulous. The food was warm and delicious and the variety was refreshing. They were very polite and worked very hard. Loved the hotel location was easy access to the freeway. The pool/jacuzzi area was very nice. Great options for dining close by. The Room was spacious and clean . I’ve never stayed in Ayres hotel before and I was very impressed with the value for what I got. I come to Huntington Beach often and will definitely be staying again.

We arrived to find out the pool and jacuzzi were not open due to renovations. No mention of this when we booked our rooms, but yet you still charge full price for your accommodations.

Really enjoyed my stay. Very clean friendly hotel. Breakfast was enjoyable as well. Pool was being renovated so looking forward to staying again when it's open. Absolutely recommended!

Staff was great and rooms were clean and taken care of. They use the kitchen area for continental breakfast at night and have a bartender. Drinks were great but pricier than expected. Pool terrace area was very pretty and the gym was spacious. Only negatives was the room I was in it took almost 15 minutes of running the shower for it to turn warm. Additionally they offer complimentary coffee but no hot water or tea. So I had to keep asking for hot water. Overall I would still recommend for comfortable stay in a beautiful area.

Everything was great but the pool was closed during our entire stay and we were there for spring break. Put a damper on the trip since we drove all the way from Utah and the kids were excited to swim.

Breakfast was well organized and had a variety of hot items (scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast, instant oatmeal) and cold items (yogurt, fruit cup, cereal). The tater tots were amazing. The staff replenished the food quickly and made sure that the restaurant was clean. Two queen room (facing Slater) was big and clean and quiet. Hotel also had fire doors. The elevators worked well - no long waits. Ample free parking (especially in the back). Right next to freeway and police station.

Decent hotel, not bad for a short stay. The rooms were clean and the staff was very attentive. The bad, the whole first floor smelled like a chemicals and chlorine cleaner. The room has an old smell to it and felt like the window needs to be opened to air out the place. The walls are kind of thin and you could hear when people walk above you but it wasn’t too loud. The staff including the breakfast crew were very friendly and nice. For the price point, it was not a bad place to stay but for a longer stay next time, definitely looking to stay elsewhere that is more up to date and fresher smell paying extra. I would stay here again if there are no other options around the price point.

Ayres Fountain Valley is such a lovely hotel! I typically choose my normal chain hotels for points and skeptical about booking with chains I’m not familiar with. But after reading all of the positive reviews, I am so glad I booked here! It is impeccable clean and managed from the moment you walk into the lobby and into your room. Great smell, too, even in the rooms. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The included breakfast buffet is a great perk with plenty of seating in the dining room and patio. The bed and linens are comfortable. It’s very convenient to many places in the area and a quick drive to all the nearby beaches. Even though it’s right off the freeway, I was never bothered by any noise. Free self parking in a safely lit area is also nice. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Orange County.

When we entered our hotel room it was dirty. Bathroom smelled that somebody used it . Wastebasket was full . Hair on pillows and blankets. Wanted a new blanket and they gave me a mattress topper . Staff nice but not experienced . Breakfast very sad . You pay for location . Mattress a nightmare . I don’t usually write these kinds of reviews but I just expect more if I pay over 200 dollars for the room . Romm wise and staff wise.

Housekeeping must have doused the room with a perfume spray just before we arrived. We had to leave the room -- our eyes were stinging. Fortunately it dissipated before we returned or we would have asked for a room change. I aways wonder what the hotel is trying to mask -- smoking? bad plumbing? -- when they do that. Ayers was clean, breakfast above average, free parking and while we saw no canine guests, always glad to share space with puppos.

The rooms are large and location is good but it’s a fairly basic hotel. Breakfast was aimed at families so was poor by international standards. The room aircon was mind numbingly loud so we turned it off. Can’t imagine a really hot night!) there was a fridge for our wine but the hotel couldn’t offer any sort of glass for us- just plastic cups. Bed was comfortable but overall not a couples or holiday hotel. Geared for families on a budget I feel.

The room was clean, spacious, and quite comfortable bed. There wear plenty of towel, coffee etc The staff at the front desk always greeted us and were very nice and helpful, like with suggestions and directions. The breakfast was great too…really enjoyed our short stay.

Check in was not the best. The lady that checked me in was not customer service oritented. She talked fast, did not explain things like where my room was, not given a floor option as other times, she talked liked those quick disclaimer explanations over the radio that are given at light speed. Bad customer service, as I had to ask her what she said numerous times. On the other hand the male employee who worked the night shitft was very friendly and accommodating. When I jokingly asked if the coffee was fresh he said, he would brew a fresh batch. When I came back for other questions later in the evening, he was very helpful. Kudos to him. Was not going to book this particular Ayers location again due to check in, but he may have persuaded me to use this location again.

We thought it would be a typical hotel stay. We were in town for 10 days for the PGF softball tournament. There was a lot of softball games, beach time, and team outings. The cleaning staff was patient and understanding. If there wasn’t softball dirt everywhere, there was beach sand. We returned to change during a room cleaning and they were very understanding. We also LOVED Joel at the front desk. He was shy, but I think it was because I was very outgoing. He was friendly and answered any questions. He gave recommendations and was just a pleasant person. All the staff were great. There was one woman that wasn’t very friendly, but I figured she was too busy to greet us. Breakfast wasn’t delicious, but we appreciated it was available, free, and early since we had to be at the field by 7am each day. It is right off the 405 and near everything. Location was perfect for what we had to do while we were there. We recommend Chicken Miason, and Zubies Dry Dock, and The Hangout, so good. I don't want to recommend this hotel, only because I don’t want it to get filled with so many people that I won’t be able to get a room. Haha. Thank you Ayres for giving us a great experience.

Was greeted when i walked in but was treated with attitude, most likely the check in attendant was in a bad mood, but thats no excuse to relay onto the guests. Other than that, the property is good, breakfast is okay, cleanliness was the best part.

David at the front desk was super kind and accommodating! He helped us get checked in, told us places in the area and even let us check in a little early. He was awesome! Our experience was great aside from that as well. Facilities were all clean, breakfast was good, and the beds were comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay. We always stay at Ayers Hotels when available because of the cleanliness and friendly staff. We usually stay at the Ayers in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach because of the wonderful restaurant and distance to airport but this Ayers was close to relatives and friends we were visiting this trip and it was very nice and quiet situated in a condominium neighborhood and right next to the Fountain Valley Police station so felt safe too. It was also close to the Beach Cities and we enjoyed our strolls and eateries in Newport and Huntington Beach.

This truly a wonderful hotel! I'm a solo traveler and have stayed here several times. I've never been disappointed! The "Spoons" restaurant inside closed last weekend but they told me they are looking for another restaurant to fill that void.

This our second stay. For the most part it was satisfactory. We did the breakfast once. The coffee was very weak in the breakfast. The coffee in the lobby had a funny taste-perhaps vanilla. Aside from this all in all our stay was fine.

I usually stay here every time I travel to the area for work. It's close to work and lot's of places to eat. My only complaint is the breakfast. For someone who is on a plant based diet, my option is typically oatmeal. They use instant oatmeal packs and only 1 of the 5 days had a regular pack. The rest were all sugary packs. I wish they would cook oatmeal and provide toppings.
