Motel Mediteran

Room was tiny but clean. Very limited amenities no dining nearby. Pool small and cold. Ok for 1 night.

It was in a great location for the event I was participating in. It had a "retro" look on the outside but the rooms were fantastic. There is a great gazebo and sitting area in the middle. Parking was good and it was easy to get in and out back onto the main road. I would recommend it to anyone going to Escondido.

Parking is very tight, especially for trucks

The rooms are very clean and recently updated. It was a comfortable stay. It is street side so there is some traffic noise which is to be expected. The pool could be updated and patio furniture cleaned of cobwebs. But it’s a motel so for the price it’s perfectly fine. It’s close to restaurants and businesses so the location is great for that. We will return in the future so we can visit with family in the area.

Had to call to get someone to show up in the lobby for check-in, long delay before they showed up. Toilet in room was clogged, took a long time to get staff to fix it. No towels available at pool, but staff did bring one to school for me.

The rooms were clean and in nice condition and it was comfortable. I didn't like that the room smelled strongly of bleach. I'm all for cleanliness but it was a bit to strong and had to have window open. Parking is to tight for some vehicles and I could not get my vehicle in a parking slot. I did arrive late so my experience might have been different had I come earlier. Other wise things were good.

Small,, quiet; comfortable bed, grab bars in the shower, small guest laundry, huge TV, TWO waste baskets, sturdy TP....

Nice, clean, very nice management; parking is a bit of an issue if you come back to your room late. There are not enough parking spaces for all the guests if the motel is full.

The upgrades were very nice. However my feet were dirty from walking on the laminate floor.

It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but this was the cleanest, comfiest, best-maintained motel I've stayed at in SoCal. Super comfy beds, hot water, great lighting... very clean. Great people, great experience.

Very well maintained and clean motel with comfy beds. Immaculately clean, but the smell of bleach was fairly strong when we first checked in - it needed an airing out. Would stay here again for its proximity to the Safari Park. Excellent value, too.

Great location and friendly person at the front desk. Dirty room: hair on the pillows, I think they only sweep or vacuum the floors because they were filthy when a damp paper towel was used to clean up a spill, smelled like mold in the bathroom, bed was very firm, A/C unit was extremely loud and the fan never shut off, shutters didn’t close all the way, solicited by knocks on the door, and the towels should be donated to a local car wash.

Traveler beware!! I don't know where people have been staying that rated this place 10/10. Right after we got there I accidentally spilled some water on the floor and we used a washcloth to wipe it up... black. Floors weren't clean. The room was remodeled but the same print above both beds. The TV wasn't working, said not connected to a network. The wifi was so bad it's basically unusable. People above us never stopped walking around loudly. Can hear everything outside, people up all night and smoking. Didn't look like a super ghetto neighborhood but I don't actually know. The second day we came back from an outing and our keys didn't work. Beds were very uncomfortable and you could actually feel the springs. Bathroom was pretty and remodeled but hair on the floor in the corners. Shower didn't get very hot and handle was not in good shape. On our last day we woke up at 6am and gone by 630. It was bad. Oh and there's not enough parking and the lot is awkward.

Unfortunately my initial impression was not good at all. First, front desk staff is amazing and friendly, the best. That was not the problem. The problem was that I chose this more expensive option because of it's cleanliness rating. I don't mind paying more for peace of mind that the rooms are well cleaned and disinfected. While the rooms were neat and esthetically pleasing, I found fleas. Any blood sucking bugs found is an automatic NO for a hotel stay. I saw a dog next room to us, so I'm assuming due to people bringing pets. I was transferred to another room, though it was a downgrade. Didn't see fleas, but inspecting the bed sheets, housekeeping cleaning seems questionable. I found hairs stuck on mattresses and stains. With some more deeper cleaning practices, this place has potential. Otherwise, I don't think I'll be booking here again for concerns about fleas or lack of deep cleaning. Parking was also a bit difficult.

Basic, affordable, no frills, accommodations. Functional fridge, micro, and TV. WiFi is a bit spotty. Plenty of parking.

Looked for places to stay that is affordable and close to where we will be visiting, and Motel Mediteran is a good basic room that met all our needs. We were out most of the day so just needed a basic place to rest and sleep after a long day. I like that they use hard floors, no carpets. The room is simple and modern with lots of usb and power outlets. They even have led lights built in the bed frame where it lights up when it senses movement. It was a cool concept for providing light at night when you go to the bathroom. However, it was annoying as it kept doing so whenever we walk past the sensor and the light was so bright that it woke me up when someone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We ended up covering the sensor so it doesn't go off all the time. The bathroom in our room was open space and no shower doors. I wonder if we got a room specifically designed for a handicap. Although it was big and spacious, i didn't like the fact that water can get all over the floor. The room was clean when we checked in and the bed was ok. Overall, it was a good, affordable stay and may come back when we're in the area.

We stayed 2 days at this hotel. It honestly is a good budget friendly hotel. It is a very basic place to stay. The beds are ok, pillows very small. There were some stains on the sheets but not horrible ones. There is no coffee pot in room. I think the thing you need to know is the Internet here is really awful. If you need it to work forget it. It was really frustrating for me. If you need it, stay somewhere else.

Room was big but didn’t have a lot of places to put things. Bed was in a wooden platform and a little hard to get in without smacking your leg or knee on the wood. Bed was hard. Bathroom counter was small. Sounds like a lot of bad things but it still worked for us.

The room and service were great. We did have 2 lightbulbs missing in the ceiling. The only thing we didn’t like were the tiny soaps they provided. They did not lather at all. Also , the area where the bathroom sink is is very tiny. Hardly any room to put anything. They people were very friendly.

I got a great deal and the room was very clean, only complaints would be that the AC unit is a bit loud and my room was at the front of the hotel and heard a bit of the road noise at night.

The room was clean & updated. They had plenty of power outlets & room was a good size. My only complaint was that the bed was firm. It wasn’t comfortable for me. But overall a great deal on a clean room.

Stayed for comic con San Diego and it was great. The room was clean. Very spacious. Bigger than I expected. Friendly staff. MY ONLY CRITIQUE, the light from under the bed was bothersome. I understand it helps people to see during the night but it kept going on/off even WHILE I WAS IN THE BED. It woke me up several times a night. I would suggest an option or switch to have the light option on or off. But aside from that the room was great

Check in was great !!! Until I called the office and told them I didn’t want NO HOUSEKEEPING come in !!! Then the next morning I used theirs hairdryer and the damn thing started to spark fire and smoked out, 1-3 sparks hit my face. Come back for the night being gone all day … the damn housekeeping came in the room!!! When I say “no” I meant “no”!! Otherwise it was clean room!!

This place is amazing. Such a great value for a motel. Everything is clean and well kept.Staff is always on site and very attentive. Simple affordable love this place.

Unfriendly staff

There is a big construction a few feet from the motel with 6 am to 5 pm noise My problem is the staff do not tell the guests about the noise nor the block the rooms nearest to the noise which is behind the building They doing business as usual without regard to the noise and sleeping comfort of the guests at 7 am They should either let the guests know about the noise and discount the rooms heavily Or block rooms nearer to the construction site It is a shame they don’t care

Motel Mediteran in Escondido in HEARTLESS & CRUEL. My daughter just had surgery so we decided to stay here to let her rest before our hour and 30 minutes ride home. (Friday traffic @ 4pm) my Grandson helped me get her in the room & the office lady said they had to go, we're not allowed visitors. She saw my daughter obviously suffering. She didn't want them here. Ok so my Grandson went to pickup her medicine. He was just going to drop it off. Not 2 minutes the office person came & threatened to kick us out. I tried to explain he was just dropping off NEEDED medication. SHE DIDN'T CARE!!!! I paid ALOT for this!!!!! It's a low life hotel . Worst experience ever

As the other reviews say, it's a great place, great condition and with very friendly staff and management. It's also within a 15 or 20 minute walk of restaurants and stores, and there's a hamburger restaurant right next door.

There is new construction going on next door. Not motels fault. Noise starts at 7 am in morning. When new constructio n is completed, this motel will be business as usual- great!. Otherwise, great place to stay.

The lady in the office was so helpful and changed my room as I felt unsafe with many men standing outside in the parking lot and sitting infront of their rooms smoking. They just looked sketched. She assured me it was a safe area and my solo night was great. Woke once to people being loud at 2 am. Otherwise room was great and loved the bed lighting and the remodeled bathrooom. Would have loved a coffee maker. Very centrally located to shopping and Safari Park. Would stay again as a bargain!

Fantastic find in Escondido. I was looking for a reasonably priced room for a concert close by and found this motel. I am so glad I did. It was clean, safe and affordable - and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay again. It exceeded my expectations for sure.

We booked for two nights. Once we arrived we were then notified of construction happening directly next to our room from 6am-5pm. The cell service on the property is pretty bad. and there were lots of gnats or mosquitoes in our room. Not sure where they came from. I am aware this is a budget friendly option, but just pay the extra cost for a nicer stay.

Right off the freeway, super safe area

This was exactly what I needed for an easy overnight stay. I have occasional classes at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and it was perfect for my visit. It’s a very nice facility and the perfect distance to the Safari Parl. I will absolutely be booking again for my next trip!

Great little Motel. The room I was in has been recently renovated (early April '23) -- new tile floor and bathroom, maybe even new ac/heat unit and TV. TV has good channel lineup too. They are still renovating other rooms so some parking is used up by containers full of new furniture -- so parking lot is full sometimes. Not a big deal. One small 'problem' -- they have not updated their website (OR Expedia etc) to show that they DO NOT PROVIDE BREAKFAST... not a huge surprise, but either bring breakfast back or update the damn websites -- how hard can it be ?? Covid is over...

There was no “deluxe breakfast “ as advertised. Not even coffee in am (had to make our own). If breakfast discontinued, rates should have been reduced $20 to $30 per night.

I liked how easy it was to check in - my only issue was that the rooms don't have coffee makers in them, but everything else is good.

It's a motel that knows how to be a really good motel. The room I had was very clean and comfortable. Excellent wifi and television had great cable options. The staff is friendly. The property is not in a touristy area so I needed to drive for my preferred dining options. Next door is a convenience store/gas station frequented by people going to work, so good coffee is available in the morning.

The property and the rooms were very clean. My only gripe was there were not a lot dining options within walking distance since I did not have a vehicle. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Thank you

The property presented online with breakfast and coffee. No breakfast and no coffee until 7:00. Then they moved in 5 shipping containers so limited parking. Room not cleaned each day. No offer to rectify price to reflect these inconveniences. Won’t stay again,

The staff here was very friendly. It was accessible, quiet and nice. The only downside is that there was no coffee maker in our room and we like to have coffee in the room.

Like so many businesses that reduced their services do to the covid scam so was this disappointment. They used to have light breakfast item’s available but now say they stopped during covid. The scam is over go back to good service!
