This is a very special property: located in the Pilansburg Game Reserve, the Kwa Maritane delivers on all levels: very attentive and friendly staff, clean facilities, good food, wonderful game drives, and the highlight was watching the elephants ‘close up’ at the waterhole right next to the restaurant. Super Preisleistungsverhältnis, da Früstück, Abendessen und 1 Safari pro Tag bereits im Preis inbegriffen, tolles Essen mit extrem viel Auswahl, die Zimmer sind ausreichend gross, es gibt ein Spa, die Tiere kommen teilweise bis direkt ans Hotel ( es gibt einen extra Bereich ca 200 m vom Hotel entfernt um Tiere an einer Wasserstelle beobachten zu können), es gibt einen Spielplatz und extra Poolbereich für Kinder, einen Minigolfplatz, etc.Alles in allem absolut empfehlenswert, da man neben Safaris auch ins nahe gelegene Sun City/Valley of Waves fahren kann.

Kwa Maritane is a very nice Lodge. Beautifull location, just the fact that you eat you dinner or breakfast with elefants, zebras, rhinos or something else less than 20 m away. Two Nice swimmingpools. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

Staying inside the park is well worth the extra cost. Lots of things to do on property. The 2 times game drives were amazing. Staff was outstanding. Everyone was super nice, super helpful, and plenty of staff around to help out any time of day.

Lovely views, plenty wildlife and accomodation has a great set-up. Pathways are clear and paved but make sure to flag if you have mobility constraints sunce hilly at place and some parts more than 10 mins walk to the restaurant. Game drive into the reserve is a must. Friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant served tasty meals. Nothing to fault. Hope to be back in the near future.

Excellent stay at Kwa Maritane. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Only downside was the guided game drive. Trucks carry up to 22 people, we preferred the self drive option around the game park where we could take our time, stop when we wanted to and not struggle to see animals and birds through other guests on the truck!

Clearly one of the better lodges in Pilanesberg, beautifully located and well maintained. Check in experience was excellent and very friendly and attentive. This is the Wild, that they struggle to keep the rooms insect-free must not surprise. It was unfortunate that due to heavy rainfall, all game drives had to exit the park and enter at another gate costing 20 minutes driving extra before game viewing could actually begin. That turn-down service left all lights on in the evening is so 20th century - this is particularly unfortunate in South Africa in times of load shedding.

This was a 70 birthday get away. Sadly I did nothing for the first three nights about the thatch and insects falling on the bed. The third night was impossible with rats sweeping and rat dropping on the bed. Our last night was what we had expected. Food good except for the stale bread and bread rolls. For a quite get away this place should be avoided, uncontrolled kids messed dining badly

Excellent service from all staff. The resort was incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The safari guides had a wealth of knowledge about the park and wildlife. They could answer every question with confidence and engaged our children in q and a. We really can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. On safari, we saw so many animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, black and white rhinos, giraffes and so much more! Highly recommend.

Great property in the middle of Pillanesburg National park! Pros- Cleanliness, sincere staff, two safari drives a day! Cons- No Halal food option but the chef tried their best to accommodate us. No heat in the room but we had plenty of blankets. I still recommend this property for folks wanting to enjoy African safari.

Hotel muito bom, bonito, cama confortavel, areas externas bonitas e no geral foi muito bom! Cafe da manha e jantar sao bons, tipicos da regiao, mas o atendimento pode melhorar. A toalha de rosto de nosso quarto nao estava limpa mas nada que desabone a experiecnia em geral que foi otima. A equipe dos safaris e os safaris foram muito bons, conseguimos ver 3 dos 5 big five, inclusive leoes. No geral, foi um ptimo cusro beneficio e oitma experiência

Other than the water being contaminated from what might have been a water-main break that turned the water brown and acidic in taste. Overall, it was a positive experience. We were a little disappointed in the number of animals we saw on the one day that we went out on safari. My understanding is that there are usually more. The bed was a bit extra firm. The food was great, the staff was great.

A estrutura social do hotel é magnífica, os funcionários muito simpáticos e bem treinados, a comida boa e o esconderijo para ver os animais fantástico. Uma baita obra de engenharia que errou no básico, o quarto 136 que ficamos é fedido e o banheiro sem nenhuma ventilação (sem janela e sem ventoinha). O odor da fossa ecoava em todo o quarto por conta disso. O wi-fi não é free como dizem, como estávamos trabalhando tivemos que renovar a senha várias vezes, algumas delas no intervalo de 2 horas. Péssimo. Depois de algumas renovações o acesso ficou lento. Foi o primeiro hotel no mundo que isso aconteceu com a gente.

Pros: Free Game drives; half boards options; wild life viewing on your backyard; restaurant staff are very friendly. Cons: have to bring your free water from your room to the rrstaurant because it's not free while dining in. Early check out at 1000, can request later check out but it's additional 600 per hour; no conditioners only shampoo and body wash available; robes are rough; you can not view your TV from the beds.

Really nice rooms with comfy beds, wildlife just outside the door. The food is varied and very well made, the gamedrives are exciting. We also went on a hot-air balloon ride. Pricy but well worth the money. All in all a perfect stay.

Schöne Lodge, gut gelegen, tolles Angebot. Etwas schade finde ich, dass auf meine Nachricht mit einer Anfrage der inbegriffenen Leistungen nie geantwortet wurde. Im Nachhinein ist uns auch aufgefallen, dass wir ein kleineres Zimmer bekommen haben, als wir gebucht (und bezahlt! für 2 Nächte insgesamt 30€ mehr) haben. Das Essen war gut, der Service und die Freundlichkeit aller Mitarbeiter ebenfalls.

We loved our stay at Kwa Maritane. The food, rooms, services and game drives were amazing and would highly recommend. The only downside was we had booked on a Boma dinner for the Wednesday night, which is subject to numbers. We were informed there were not enough numbers and it was not going ahead. This was disappointing but understandable. However, when we were on that evening game drive, a family next to us said how excited they were for the boma dinner and were picked up for it at the end of the drive. When back at the hotel, that family shared photos of the boma with us, which looked amazing. We spoke to the reception staff, who continued to claim the boma did not go ahead despite us knowing of another family who were on it. That was the only frustration in the trip. Would still highly recommend this hotel for the Pilanesberg safari experience.

Pelo preço esperava muito mais! A janta parece q fazem a comida sem graça pra ninguém comer muito. As sobremesas são lindas, mas sem gosto. Café da manhã até q é bom. Atendimento, com poucas exceções, fica bem a desejar. Staff nada simpático. Fizemos 4 safáris, dos big 5, só vimos os búfalos, rinocerontes e elefantes. Não vimos nenhum leão nem leopardo ou chitas. Os guias parecem q não se esforçam tanto para encontrar os animais mais difíceis.

The restaurant around the watering hole is outstanding. It has a beautiful view of the area, with occasional elephants and other animals that make it unforgettable. The buffets were great, the staff were friendly and the rooms and facilities were clean and pleasant. I’ve stayed at several places around the Pilanesburg and Kwa Maritane is by far my favourite.

Schönes Zimmer, grandioses Essen, tolle Lage und super Angebot. 2 von 3 Safaris waren lasch und in unseres Erachtens zu grossen Fahrzeugen. Das Hotel aber ganz toll. Wir fanden es sogar noch besser als erhofft.

Stayed here 18 years or so ago before the fire. We felt that nothing has changed, it was looking tired. The dinning was limited, our 14 year old daughter couldn’t really find much she liked. We were there 2 nights which for us was enough. The staff were excellent.
