Capitan Suizo was by far my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at! All of the staff was OUTSTANDING, and super kind. The hotel felt comfy, beautiful, natural, peaceful, and clean. It was a great place to hangout for most of the day and rotate from the pool to the beach.

The rooms were clean, large and quiet. The free breakfast buffet had plenty of great options (you can also choose to order off a menu). The restaurant was one of the best restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner. The hotel rooms are a few feet from the beach. Free WIFI, body boards, board games, billiards and many other fun activities. The beach has an area just for guests with a security guard. The best part of the stay was the staff. They were very helpful and polite.

This was a really beautiful property, the location to the beach was amazing! The grounds were stunning as well! The staff was friendly and very helpful! It was nice to have the option to check out boogie boards right at the hotel, or you can rent surfboards right there as well. Our transportation to our next location didn't come until 3 hours after check out and they allowed us keep our luggage in a secure location and even had showers available if we wanted! This was a beautiful property!

A beautiful property on the beach. Great swimming options right outside of the hotel. Loved that it was walkable into town but very quiet on this end of the beach. The staff are very friendly and approachable. A really nice place to stay.

Has an upscale very tropical feel. The front desk and concierge arranged airport transportation and excursions for us prior to our stay. Very personalized service throughout our stay. There is no TV on the premises. That was a down side for us, but if you really want to relax and unplug, it's probably a plus for most people.

Such a wonderful place! Private, special property with amazing staff, excellent and affordable food, delicious drinks- right on the beach! A full buffet breakfast is included with homemade bread - made at the hotel- inlet station and fresh local fruits. A nice cool pool and gardens with fruit trees, that encourage Costa Rican Wildlife (howler monkeys!) to live. My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Capitan Suiza with an easy walk into Tamarindo to visit other restaurants, a fun night life, and surfing lessons! Concierge will book trips and let you rent beach equipment (snorkels, surfboards,etc) along with a little library, board games, outdoor pool table and ping pong! Room was gorgeous, clean, comfy beds, and large bathroom. Our only regret is not staying longer! We will be coming back for sure!

Everything about this place was amazing. Gorgeous pool that felt like you were in your own tropical oasis, stunning rooms, and delicious food and drinks! The surfboard rentals were a great way to try out surfing, and the location was perfect. It’s easily walkable to tons of shopping and restaurants but in a more quiet area of the beach. Would definitely stay here again

Tamarindo was the first stop for my husband & I on our honeymoon to Costa Rica and we are SO glad we stayed at Capitán Suizo!! If you are looking for a quieter, more mellow and luxurious but still very convenient option, this is for you! This is the farthest resort along the busy beachfront strip in downtown Tamarindo closest to Langosta Beach so the beach directly outside is not as busy with people, surfers, and solicitors, but just walk a few minutes down the beach if you want that. It’s also only about a 5-10 minute walk to downtown where there are tons of shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops & the food truck garden. We stayed in a superior king room with a beautiful balcony view and could hear the howler monkeys every morning, saw many iguanas and made friends with the resort’s on-site cats (they’re all so sweet!). We ate at the resort’s restaurants many times and it was delicious. Staff is very friendly & helpful, rooms are beautiful & clean, and lots of excursions available & easily accessible. We do not like to party hard so we enjoyed the peacefulness of this resort a lot.

Lindo hotel con excelente playa, súper buen servicio del personal en especial Max del restaurante, la habitaciones dobles con balcón no son muy lindas y para llegar a la alberca o restaurante tienes que bajar por recepción, no recomendaría esas habitaciones, sin embargo las de terraza y bungalow son muy cómodas, bonitas, muy limpias y sales directamente centro del hotel, la comida de muy buenas porciones y excelente sabor y calidad. Súper bien las clases de Surf. Un punto a considerar en caso de alergias es que viven ahí 3 gatos que están por todo el hotel, sobre todo en la recepción y en el restaurante al estar comiendo, se suben a las sillas y saben convivir con la gente, son parte del hotel, al igual que la fauna que cuidan de ella,. Un hotel tranquilo y familiar, excelente opción en Tamarindo.

This hotel is a dream spot! Absolutely amazing in every possible way. Gorgeous room, gardens and other property. Easy access to beach and activities. Away from the busy town, but still close enough to be able to enjoy the downtown area. Feels like you are in nature, but in a clean and safe area. We loved it!

We had an absolutely amazing time in Tamarindo staying at the Capitan Suizo Boutique hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating, and the food was excellent. After exploring the whole town, we concluded that this hotel is likely the nicest place to stay in all of Tamarindo. One of the staff members even went so far as to retrieve a recipe of a dish we were particularly fond of, so we could attempt to recreate it at home. 5/5 stars all around.

It is a small boutique property located on the beach and close to the lovely town of Tamarindo. The hotel is charming and well decorated and clean.The staff is amazing and friendly and go out of their way to make it a great experience for you. Drinks are fantastic !

We had a beautiful 3 days at Capitán Suizo! It was clean, comfortable, and the food was delicious! But the most amazing part was definitely the staff - they were attentive, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond. The hotel is super peaceful but an easy walk to all the restaurants, stores and nightlife if that’s what you want. Thank you all for a great stay!

Our stay was great! The pool was beautiful, during the day could see monkeys and iguanas! We stayed in one of the bungalows, which were beautiful. The outdoor shower was great (don't leave your key inside though as the door locks automatically). The town was fun, close enough to walk to but gets loud and thumping at night. The hotel is perfect distance to it, if we stayed in a hotel closer to town, we would have been up all night with the dance music. This hotel was very quiet at night. The staff were nice, the servers and bartenders could be a little surly. There was one server who was fantastic but I can't remeber his name :(. The other guests were a little older, I would say the hotel is child tolerant, but nothing about the hotel is really geared toward children. It was quiet and relaxed and I appreciated that very much.

After spending three wonderful nights at the world-class Nayara Resort in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, we drove to the Pacific coast for a five-night stay at the W Hotel in Reserva Conchal. Unfortunately, the experience was so disappointing that we decided to check out four days early and look for alternative accommodations online. That’s when we came across Capitan Suizo Hotel in Tamarindo, and what a pleasant surprise it was! This charming, Swiss-owned beachfront resort turned out to be nothing short of perfection. The atmosphere at Capitan Suizo is both understated and elegant, offering excellent value for the level of amenities provided. What a lovely place with very caring staff. The room was wonderful and very well laid out. The ceiling fans and air conditioning really helped with the 90 degree temperatures. Everything about this place was amazing. Gorgeous pool that felt like you were in your own tropical oasis, stunning rooms, and delicious food and drinks! The surfboard rentals were a great way to try out surfing, and the location was perfect. It’s easily walkable to tons of shopping and restaurants but in a more quiet area of the beach. Has an upscale very tropical feel. The front desk and concierge arranged airport transportation and excursions for us prior to our stay. Very personalized service throughout our stay. The staff made the trip. Everyone is Absolutely wonderful and feels like family by the time you leave. Great service, great location - easy to get to town, quieter end of the beach. Got to see howler monkeys, lizards, birds and the hotel cats. Simba became a constant visiting our room. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the Tamarindo area!

The restaurant was one of the best restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner. The hotel rooms are a few feet from the beach. This was my favorite hotel to stay at in Costa Rica. It is a little out of downtown area which makes it quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast in the morning was awesome, the dinner at night on the beach was very relaxing, and the animals that you see at the hotel are amazing. I can't wait to get back.

Such a wonderful place! Private, special property with amazing staff, excellent and affordable food, delicious drinks- right on the beach! A full buffet breakfast is included with homemade bread - made at the hotel- inlet station and fresh local fruits. A nice cool pool and gardens with fruit trees, that encourage Costa Rican Wildlife (howler monkeys!) to live. My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Capitan Suiza with an easy walk into Tamarindo to visit other restaurants, a fun night life, and surfing lessons! Concierge will book trips and let you rent beach equipment (snorkels, surfboards,etc) along with a little library, board games, outdoor pool table and ping pong! Room was gorgeous, clean, comfy beds, and large bathroom. Our only regret is not staying longer! We will be coming back for sure!
