Very nice location and the pool and beach area were nice. They allow boats to launch from the property but would not allow me to launch my Sea Doo Fishpro from their ramp. Had to drive a couple miles to launch my fishing jet ski and pay to do it. Boats pulling into slips, much more dangerous than my jet-ski. Big inconvenience, left a day early. Will find a more hospitable place next trip.

this is a great place to stay! There is a really nice pool and a really nice beach and depending on where your room is neither one is very far to walk to!!!! There are nice chaise lounges and great beach towels! They have a lovely gazebo at the end of one of the docs and they also have a boat ramp for a small boat! You can sit in that gazebo and watch the sunset and it’s amazing or you can sit in the water and watch the sunset!!!!! It’s centrally located so there’s lots of places around to eat and drink!!!!!!! I loved it and plan on returning!

We loved the location. The grounds are beautiful. The pool is just the right size. The beach was small and cozy, with wildlife and options to kayak or paddleboat. Staff was so friendly and kind. I wish we could've stayed longer.

Plumbing backed up, flooding the floor and causing brown material to come up through the shower drain. After sitting in the car for three hours waiting for them to fix it, we noticed that our freshly cleaned room had brown smears on the floor next to the toilet and what appeared to be fecal matter smeared on a towel. No refund or compensation offered by the hotel.

The staff was incredibly unprofessional and just downright not friendly. But the room? Even more awful! I have never seen a dirtier “resort” room in my entire life! There were stains all over the bed, hair, dirt and grime in the bed. Mystery dried liquid on the walls. Stains on the curtains. Mold in the AC vent. The bathroom vanity had water damage like you wouldn’t believe. We checked in, and after inspecting the room, we checked out the same day. We couldn’t bear to sleep in that filthy bed! We notified staff that the room was unclean and were told “We can’t give you clean sheets until morning. You should have asked for them at check in.” Which tells me they don’t put clean sheets on the bed after each stay. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!

Not like reviews I read or photos on their website. Room was clean but dated and had issues. Bathroom was tiny (not like photo portrayed). Also could not shut the bathroom door all the way because it rubbed against the floor and showed evidence this was an ongoing problem. Bathroom cabinet doors would not shut either and had roaches living in it. Wi-Fi even though we could log in was basically useless because it was so weak. Front door had two locks, a door knob lock and a dead bolt. However, the key we were given only worked in the door knob lock. Pool was nice, but beach wasn’t much of a beach…

Property is old, outdated and dirty. Mold in the shower. Cleaning is only available every three days. We found two cockroachs the last day that we were there. One of the beds had a soft cover on it. The other one was rock hard.

cost was excellent which is value in itself. the lights would dim and return constantly beyond just being very low light to begin with. We never could get warm water so took cold cleanups. Bed was quite saggy even more noticeable to large men. all things considered for the price it was ok.

Staff were friendly, kayak activity included plus towels, our room & bathroom was clean. Only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star was because you can tell the bldg was old and smells old, they don't have an ice maker for their guests ( we had to purchase ice from them) and my husband wasn't impressed at all and told me he wouldn't want to go back there.

The gal at the check in desk was a ray of sunshine. Great welcome to this property. She also gave a nice dinner recommendation. The room was large, clean, and newly renovated. We both found the bed to be very hard, but we know that’s personal preference. The pool and grounds were nice and we appreciated being able to hang out on the dock to see the sunset over the water.

I don’t know how this place received a 9.2 rating. It was an older small hotel that had tried to update a few years ago. Without the air conditioner on you couldn’t sleep because of road noise. I will never choose a lodging from your site believing the ratings.

Rock Reef Resort was our favorite of 3 places we stayed in the Keys. The room was a little small, but that was not important to us as we spend our time outdoors. The pool was great, and very warm! The property is beautiful. There is a small beach and a separate picnic area all located on the bay literally steps from your room. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely return!!

For the price a great place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very clean. It is an older hotel but most in this area are. The rooms have been updated…..floors and bathrooms. The pool and grounds were also very nice. Hammocks picnic tables, and shaded places to sit and relax. We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms looked fresh and modern. Shower was good except curtain allowed considerable amount of water in the floor. All furniture is extremely cheap and flimsy. The bed was fairly comfortable but was extremely noisy and flimsy. My biggest concern was that me and my wife were abruptly awaken by cleaning service opening the room with their own key at 8:45 in the morning. We went ahead and got up and left the property. Just a mis understanding I'm sure but it ruined our sleep and basically our stay.

The hotel itself was fine, but the employees could use a serious attitude adjustment . I would also prefer to not hear gossip and personal stories from the employee room while I’m laying by the pool. One girl was sharing her whole life and cussing while doing laundry . Not very professional.

From the moment I checked in until I checked out, I was treated like a member of the family! Ashley at the desk was extremely friendly and shared her fun sense of humor with us. Our queen room was upgraded to a king suite(!) for unknown reasons! The pool area was clean, there were kayaks available for us to use, the property was well maintained and had apparently undergone recent renovations! Sitting by the beach and pool offered serenity and peace! This small family owned resort is tops on my list of places to revisit! Thank you Ashley and company for a great experience!

We loved staying here! Close to everything but quiet and secluded! Loved the chance to kayak, lay on the beach, and enjoy the warm pool in the chilly night air! The staff are amazing…you can tell they love working together and it is refreshing!! We came after hours for check-in and they couldn’t have made it easier! Thank you for the wonderful stay!!

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice property, right on the ocean, free kayaks available, well maintained pool, lush tropical grounds, shade palapa down by the water, and fantastic sunset view.

Decent older motel. Staff was helpful and considerate. They have kayaks available for use, There is a nice seafood restaurant/bar directly across the street, other than that you have to drive 5-10 minutes for the next options. Our room was ok. The ceiling fan was LOUD, woke us up from sleep multiple times a night thinking someone was coming in the door. You could easily hear people in the next room over and not sure if there is an apartment upstairs or what but lots of noise from the ceiling, pounding, running, things dropping on the floor early in the morning. All things considered its a decent motel but I wouldn't stay again.

The property is very well maintained. The swimming pool was excellent, very clean and quiet. The small beach was clean as well. The landscaping is impeccable. The room was newly renovated. Very nice and welcoming. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but lots of bars and restaurants closeby. Will definitely go back to this resort.

The gal at the check in desk was a ray of sunshine. Great welcome to this property. She also gave a nice dinner recommendation. The room was large, clean, and newly renovated. We both found the bed to be very hard, but we know that’s personal preference. The pool and grounds were nice and we appreciated being able to hang out on the dock to see the sunset over the water.

We loved this property. Especially the covered tables on the dock. We picked up food from a local restaurant and ate here, enjoying the sunset. Our apt was quite roomy. Not great if you are planning to cook a lot, but fine for simple breakfast.There is no dishwasher, or much in the way of cleaning supplies. The staff wasn't always there, but the office had pretty much everything available without them needing to be there.

“Resort” is a stretch, this has more of a motel feel. Our room was part of the main building, close to the road, so we did hear highway noise, but there are cottages further back on the property. Room was clean, bedroom & living room were spacious. Whatever they are using on the floors made the tiles quite slippery. Basic amenities, a little dated, but served its purpose. The positive of this property is that it is on the water, great sunset view, nice dock, small beach, but not really usable due to crocodile warnings. Enjoyed the pool, no breakfast included. There are dining options nearby, but you do have to drive everywhere.

We enjoyed the use of the kayaks on the property. We were able to see dolphin and manatee. We enjoyed seeing the sunsets in the evenings from the pier. Area surrounding the property was comfortable for sitting in lawn chairs in front of the ocean or at the small pool . Our day was very relaxing. Snorkeling was at a nearby environmental state park. There are nearby Pickleball courts for the public. We did just a little biking because the bike path was along the highway And not all that scenic. Restaurants were reasonable and fish was delicious.

It was very far from the point for the price. Room is small and no food options. A family stayed above us and had their small children running across the room and balcony till about 3am at one point one of the adults screamed outside to get up and party. They also rented bath towels for the pool for 20$ each which i thought was crazy. Other than that it was good

The property was very nice. The pool was heated to 80 so that was good. Our room was close to the main road so a little noisy. Staff was very friendly. Great place for a sunset. We would stay there again.
