The Whisky Vaults is in a great location to explore Oban. Close to everything and clean and comfortable. Excellent water pressure in the shower too!! The bar is lovely with really friendly staff. Strongly recommend!

Fantastic little hotel in walking distance to everything in Oban. Street parking right in front of the hotel was available, and the hotels bar had 350 very interesting bottles of Scotch, and a very friendly and knowledgeable bartender. If I come back to Oban, I am booking here again for sure.

The room was rather small but cozy and had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and informative. There is parking right across the street that was very easy to access and allowed you to pay in advance for overnight parking. Very close to the Main Street and beautiful views.

Third floor, spiral staircase, no elevator. Pre-booking information should give these warnings. We are 72 and 83 years old and had to take those stairs very slowly, holding onto the rail with two hands, to be sure to avoid falling. Breakfast service comes in a paper bag outside the door at 7:30. Rooms are drab. No washcloth provided. The hotel is a block away from the main shopping and dining street, and that possibly justifies the rate, but I cannot recommend this property to weary travelers.

Our experience was fabulous from beginning to end. We were able to check in on arrival, and the staff always offer to carry your bags. Property is in a perfect location and we adored the town. Parking is not free but it is reasonably priced and very convenient with the lot being across the street. Wonderful staff! Thank you so much!

Great location in Oban - a beautiful traditional Scottish coastal city. Only caution for this hotel - you must access your room via a spiral staircase, which is difficult if one has mobility issues. Otherwise, excellent hotel. Nice continental breakfast outside room in the am. Adjacent to a FABULOUS bar to sample whiskies from near and far with patient and fun bartenders to guide your tasting experience. We would certainly stay here again!

In a great location in the centre of Oban, with most of the places you would want to visit within walking distance. There is a convenient car park across the street if you need it. The building is old and full of character, which inevitably impacts on the accommodation - with some ingenious planning of the en-suite bathrooms, but this is more than made up for by the Scottish welcome from the knowledgeable staff. Breakfasts are not included, but there is the offer a of a goodie-bag with pastry, drink and fruit, or plenty of places nearby. A plus is the whisky bar with its huge selection of whisky and changing whiskies of the day, somewhere to relax in the evening.

There is no elevator and the stairs were a bit steep so beware that. The “wee pub” next to the larger pub is marvelous with a nice wood stove. We thoroughly enjoyed a quiet pint in the wee pub. Bed was comfortable and bathroom had a nice soaking tub. Easy to walk to local sights.

Very unique property, close to a diverse array of dining options. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a wee bit on the tiny side, with winding stairs to get to them, but the staff does offer to help with your bags. Most importantly, they were clean.The complimentary sack breakfasts left at our door were perfect. The bar area was neat and staff very friendly there as well. Parking wasn't easy to get to, but worked out fine.

Check in was very quick and efficient - I was given a hand up to my room with my bags (& when I checked out as my knees aren’t the best!) - the staircase is gorgeous but there are no lifts for those with significant mobility issues. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfy. Although there was no cooked breakfast around 7:30 there was a little bag with fruit, water, yoghurt and a pastry delivered to the door which was a really nice touch. Was really quiet in the local area - didn’t hear any noise from the rooms or the bar below. Parking was easy in the car park across the street and cost about £13 for 48hrs (ish). My room was ideal for solo trips but know the others are larger to accommodate for couples etc. Central location with several cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as the train station. Have been visiting Oban for years and will certainly be coming back to the Whisky Vaults if I they have space for me!

Booked a 2 night stay in a super tiny room. After the first night, we ended up finding another accommodation due to the size of the room and the fact that my husband couldn't sleep the first night. I now wish I had paid more attention to the postage stamp sized room review I looked at before booking this room. While clean and in a good location, beware of booking the super small rooms with a bathroom you'll be hitting your knees on the shower stall door when you use the restroom.

I stayed two nights at The Whisky Vaults, Friday and Saturday. I checked in a bit late (20:30) and was easily accommodated with my room key and information. There was a grab-and-go breakfast bag left outside my door each morning filled with yogurt, water, pastry, cereal bar, and fresh fruit. My room had an electric kettle, tea, coffees, and hot chocolate as well as shampoo, shower gel, and a small bar soap. Everything was clean and cozy. Being near to the beer garden, it was a bit noisy in the evenings but that is to be expected. It was a lively fun atmosphere with live music and wonderful staff.

Great location, tiniest of rooms and bathrooms. I think if we actually had a king bed, it would be fine, but since double was the only choice on Hotels.com, I would recommend going directly or choose another hotel.

The staff was very friendly. But once we checked in, the front desk closed, and then we discovered the Wifi was down (they mentioned they had changed wifi recently) and the heat wouldn't turn on. The bartender helped us with the wifi by going into the office and connecting us to the business Wifi. Turned out the guest wifi was not accessible during our stay. Nothing could be done about the heat. It was cold and uncomfortable both nights. The bed was somewhat uncomfortable as the mattress was worn and saggy and the pillows were ridiculously flat. While I hate to say negative things because the staff was so nice, I would not recommend this hotel. It was overpriced for a small room without even the most basic of amenities like heat and reliable wifi available.

Property and staff were great. We were on the top floor and it was pretty warm. It was mid August and pretty hot outside though. I’d stay again but just ask for a different floor.

The room and areas were fine. The reception was poor. It would have been wonderful if someone would have been at reception or at the pub area to greet us when we arrived. And if we could have left our bags while seeing the town.

The staff were wonderful. Danielle was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I’m he room was perfect. Clean, cozy. The bed was very comfortable.

We had drove all day through the highlands in the rain. We arrived and Chris booked us in. Chris carried out luggage up three flights of stairs However there was a glitch with the heat to our room after several trips and several tries we were immediately upgraded to a first floor suit Chris and the team made our stay in Oban wonderful I'm very grateful

An absolute gem, just can’t say enough good things about the hospitality here. The gentleman was so nice and helpful at checkin and throughout our stay. He called to make us dinner reservations, helped get the luggage in and helped us park. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable.

The Whisky Vaults is in a great location to explore Oban. Close to everything and clean and comfortable. Excellent water pressure in the shower too!! The bar is lovely with really friendly staff. Strongly recommend!

Great location and amazing staff. Just be prepared to park offsite and carry luggage up stairs. Other than that, the place had an amazing location and we had zero issues with sounds being right above a pub.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area, and was the perfect location for us. The rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff is very helpful. They don't do breakfast, but give each guest a little goodie bag each morning. The pub downstairs is lively and fun, but not too loud.

In a great location in the centre of Oban, with most of the places you would want to visit within walking distance. There is a convenient car park across the street if you need it. The building is old and full of character, which inevitably impacts on the accommodation - with some ingenious planning of the en-suite bathrooms, but this is more than made up for by the Scottish welcome from the knowledgeable staff. Breakfasts are not included, but there is the offer a of a goodie-bag with pastry, drink and fruit, or plenty of places nearby. A plus is the whisky bar with its huge selection of whisky and changing whiskies of the day, somewhere to relax in the evening.

I stayed two nights at The Whisky Vaults, Friday and Saturday. I checked in a bit late (20:30) and was easily accommodated with my room key and information. There was a grab-and-go breakfast bag left outside my door each morning filled with yogurt, water, pastry, cereal bar, and fresh fruit. My room had an electric kettle, tea, coffees, and hot chocolate as well as shampoo, shower gel, and a small bar soap. Everything was clean and cozy. Being near to the beer garden, it was a bit noisy in the evenings but that is to be expected. It was a lively fun atmosphere with live music and wonderful staff.

Staff was very friendly and while there is no food on the property, there are many establishments within walking distance. They have a great bar downstairs and we had a great time hanging out and listening to the many local musicians who wandered in and played. One of the highlights of our trip!

A great hotel for whisky lovers. From an easy and friendly check in through our entire stay via the very,very well stocked bar to the sad time of leaving everything was fantastic. The breakfast bag was enough to get you started with fruit, yoghurt, cereal bar and water. Tea and coffee in your room with some biscuits too. We will be back but might try and get a larger bathroom!

It's a boutique hotel in an old building so access up the central stairway could prove an issue if you have a mobility issue. It has a popular bar for locals and traditional Scottish musicians play plus they do whisky tastings. I enjoyed staying there. Parking is straight forward in the council car park on Tweeddale Street right opposite the property. You can pay for your whole stay period on the app and it's very reasonable.

We had a great stay at the Whisky Vaults. I would say this was 60% due to the full property and 40% due to the hotel/room itself. Being in the Vaults was awesome. The location was great, the staff was outstanding, and the benefits of being within the community was the best. For instance we enjoyed the whisky tasting, and there was a gathering of local musicians who were playing together for several hours that was a great experience. The hotel room itself was a little small and not great for a tall traveler, but comfortable and clean. It had a small window overlooking the harbor that had a little view, but nice.
