Really good hotel and location for access to the Excel building. Easy check in (plus free cocktail voucher for the bar). Nice modern interior and bar.

A nice, quirky hotel with parking, clean rooms and good food / social bar area

The staff was very nice and helpful, facilities are great. Easy to travel to and from with the DLR. I’ve stayed a couple of times and it’s always a pleasure.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Moxy London Excel. Our two children, aged 6 and 9, love the pool table, board games and breakfast, plus a trip on the DLR to get there is always a bonus. We'll definitely stay here again.

Lovely facilities all round. Convenient location. Parking is rather expensive. And breakfast not included. The hotel should either give complimentary breakfast or parking. Customers should not have to pay for the 2. The next door hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast. I was tempted to go there.

Easy parking

Not the party hotel it portrays on the website but spotlessly clean rooms, great shower and comfy bed. Games and bar area OK but quiet. Location is great for transport: DLR 5 mins walk away Elizabeth line 10 and City Airport is across the road. Fox Connaught pub good for standard pub food and a Chinese restaurant with good reviews (didn't try) but other than that nothing around.

Nice place but parking isn’t safe and our Vehicle was broken into.

Check in swift and good selection of drinks and snacks there which is good if you arrive late. Car park not signposted very well and it is right round the back of the hotel, £15 a night. Hotel is just a short walk away from a DLR station.Room was good, bathroom was really small but functional; get off the toilet and you're in the shower... Beds and pillows were amazing, probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in worldwide!! Motion sensor light under the bed was really useful. Overall a good little hotel, easy to get into London. We'd stay again, thank you.

Loved it, had a nice evening playing jinga and pool in the pub. Nice atmosphere. Great location for an excel London, 10 minutes walk.

Check in was efficient and staff friendly. The room however was pretty grubby! Bed was fine (most important bit) but there were greasy hand marks on the wall, bathroom floor was pretty grim and some suspicious looking stains on the carpet!

The TV was soo dark I thought the backlight had broken. Because your TV remotes don't allow anything other than to change the channel from the awful 'hotel brand TV channel' or to turn the volume up to 90 because it's so quiet, I couldn't turn the brightness up. The light that doesn't go off for 34 seconds under the bed only illuminates where the cleaner's Hoover hasn't quite been for several months. The heating/air conditioning did nothing other than to make noise. And the overflowing bins in the courtyard outside the window were an interesting touch. However, the staff were great and really friendly. The bar is certainly the best in the area (residents from other hotels came to us as we had the best bar). But nothing is more depressing than a Travelodge bar...trust me. Breakfast was also really good (frozen hash browns but the staff swapped them immediately when notified). I'm at ExCel a lot as I'm a contractor so I'll be staying at the Moxy instead of the Ibis from now on. Thanks

Very kitsch hotel with friendly staff. Some parts looking a bit rough around the edges (rips in hallway wallpaper, scratches and chips in doors, stains on carpets etc.) but it's far from deteriorating. Only complaints are the bathroom lighting is pretty bad, very dull and yellow, and while you generally won't hear your neighbours - if there's a heavy-footed occupant in the room above you'll be able to hear every footstep they take. Restaurant was a bit hit and miss - some of the food was clearly just microwaved and

Very clean, big rooms, great bathroom

I loved this hotel! Very modern space and the ambiance is very relaxed and calm. I know the airport is right next to the hotel and the sound may be annoying for some but I was too tired to even notice in the night. The only thing is the shower curtains need some change because they do look old but other than that, great option to stay at

Room was very good, bathroom had previous stayers hair in shower and toothpaste stains, otherwise ok.

I've been to Moxy several times over the last 8 years, both in this Excel and Stratford, and I've booked the family room a few times too. I got the dates wrong so was hoping to cancel this booking but they didn't accept so I just went anyway, but I wish I got my refund because the visit was appalling. There were strange stains all over the walls with what looked like rape residue, plaster. The glass side table lights weren't working like they usually do in the other rooms, the carpet in places were stained and ironed, the bathroom had yellow shower curtains and it absolutely smelt like someone didn't flush, and the smell just wouldn't go away. The curtain also was torn off slightly so I couldn't make sure the view was covered fully. Very disappointing. I'm a regular Moxy-goer and paying so much for this just hurts me, I'm wondering if I'll go back at all.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was limited storage space, only a few hangers, no drawers or shelves, which might have been an issue if I had been staying for more than a couple of nights. The location is good for Excel & City Airport, but otherwise there is little to see and do in the direct area. The working spaces in the area, with complimentary hot drinks, was really stylish and practical.

Great hotel and good price. But if you open window it was noisy from the planes. Also the air con was annoying as it was too hot during the night

For a fairly new hotel it was a little disappointing. Worn mattress, leaking shower with a door that wouldn't stay closed. Quite poor sound proofing - creaking floors and poor external protection. Possibly the worst was the aircon - you can't set the temperature, it's set far too hot (23.5C) and they tell you to open the window if that's not good - hardly great when you are next to an airport. Also, even on the slowest speed, the fan is very noisy. Only real plus point is the price for room and parking - if you book in advance. Getting in to central London isn't too bad - around 45 minutes via DLR and the CrossPurpLiz line. Around £3 each way off-peak. We also had a minor issue with Hotels.com failing to give the hotel enough money to pay for the room, meaning we had to keep checking if we could actually stay - eventually resolved - but as a result we didn't get checking in properly and someone else was given the same room and tried to get in in the middle of the night. Oh, and parking is a bit of a mess. They've marked a disabled section off - how anyone in a wheelchair is supposed to get from the car park to the hotel I don't know - but this leaves no space between the two rows of cars to actually get in, and it's not clear which spaces in the car park you can actually use. The whole thing really needs better markings and signage.

Nice modern hotel fairly close to DLR and some dining options opposite. Family room with separate living handy.

Liked the fact it was sound proof so no issues hearing other guests or the airport nearby. The room was cosy - but very small. The bathroom was ridiculously tiny. We didn't like the soft mattress - it was like being on a boat at sea every time one of us moved. We found the water pressure in the shower a bit weak - I'm glad i didn't have to wash my hair while i was there! Overall, ok. It was a stylish hotel but in truth, I'd rather pick the Premier Inn next time.

The room is very small compared to what you see in pictures. They don’t have any place to hand your clothes, no phone in room. So if you need something you have to go down to reception. In our room we did not had do not disturb signs. So everyday when we were sleeping room service will knock and check if you need room cleaning. If your room is next to the road (like ours) you can hear the sounds of trains and people talking on the street

The light under the bed kept flashing all night Signal was so poor and it wouldn’t let me connect to WiFi

A great hotel. It was clean and modern. The elevator had a safety feature. It could have had a makeup mirror. There wasn't a fridge, it would have been good for my medicines.

Everything went well, starting from check in to the the check out, nice receptionists, great specious room, very well soundproof, we didn't hear anything at night even though there is an airport nearby. Very comfortable double bed and nice size convertible sofa bed. Big shower room. We really enjoyed our stay! Most probably come back for the next visit :)

Absolutely wonderful and pleasant stay. All staff were very helpful and attentive to all our needs and requirements. Room was amazing and clean, no issues at all. We really enjoyed our stay and I want to give a big thank you to all the team at Moxy London Excel, Dockside. Will 100% stay at this hotel and any Moxy in the country as we were really impressed, shame we couldn't stay a bit longer.

Fantastic stay and service. The family room we booked wasnt available but we were given 2 rooms for the same price and free breakfast and cocktails to make up for this...over and above. The bed was exceptionally comfy. The staff were wonderful.Perfect for an overnight stay after a concert at the 02. Would definitely go back.

Male reception person was not at all Friendly,he was very sharp and rude in the way he acted he wanted to say what waswhat, but not interested in what we where asking his English was not great and when he was asked to repeat anything he was not happy last time we stayed at Moxey the lady reception was fabulous she was very friendly and went above and beyond it was a much better experience with her …..

Worst experience I’ve had. Check in very slow, breakfast woeful and cold, ordered food at 7.11pm and at 7.50pm the buzzer went off for us to be handed stone cold food. The staff told me it had been ready for 1/2 hour but I hadn’t responded to the buzzer! No! That buzzer took over 1/2 hour. Camden beer taps empty. One member of staff checking people in, serving in bar and taking food orders. Shocking experience and no managers to speak to. Someone wanted to order a pizza 7.50pm to be told the chef was on a break for half an hour so it would take an hour!! No customer service.

Needs to improve customer service.

This hotel was beautiful in an ideal location for the convention center as well! The room and lobby spaces were so gorgeous that instead of going out we would just stay at the hotel and have a ton of fun. I have one very large concern about this hotel though. When I went to check out food and drinks were charged on my card. My name is the only name for the reservation of the room and never once did I charge anything to the room. Charging me for people who just say they lived in my room is disgusting and a breach of my confidentiality. We ended up with two extra room keys because they just give out too. Keys to anyone who says that they live in that room without confirming. I felt incredibly unsafe. One night I came back to my room and the automatic front door of my room was wide open. I had to spend an hour going through my belongings making sure nothing was stolen.

The room itself was perfectly fine - good bathroom and well laid out. The quality of the service from almost all staff was from average to very poor. The dining options were poor as well. They provided little help problem-solving issues either. The customer service experience seemed like a giant chore to staff. It was disappointing.

It took us half an hour to check in, despite 4 receptionists trying. Eventually a manager came out to do it. This made us late for our event. When asking if they had a room we could at least get changed in, they could only offer the toilet! Clearly the rewards membership was a waste of time one of the four/ five receptionists clearly read it as she noted and asked if we still wanted to be near the top - she booked us on level 2! Breakfast was overly expensive, so we didn’t bother. Bar area lacked atmosphere and was very expensive. Overall, a really disappointing stay that very much spoilt our weekend away

Room was clean and had a lovely view. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed the free drinks voucher received. Bar and kitchen staff were very friendly only downside was the check-in process. I think some of the staff will benefit from more training in welcoming guests and attending to guests waiting.

Very good. Convenient for Excel/airport.

It’s a very clean and comfortable hotel. Good rooms, good bed. However some of the receptionists act like they are doing you a favour by answering questions. And just seem to be behind the reception desk looking cool. The location is bad. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. No restaurants, shops or cafes. I assumed Docklands had developed, but this area is barren.

Clean, modern and comfortable hotel in a convenient location. Very easy to access major transport routes in and out of London. The staff were great.

This was an excellent place to stay while attending a conference at London ExCel. Easily walkable, just off the Queen Elizabeth line. Clean and comfortable accommodation.

A cool place to stay. The family room does actually fit a family comfortably, unlike other London hotels in the same price range. We loved the eclectic decor and vibe of the common areas.

It was an overnight stay for catching an early morning flight from the City Airport nearby. Everything at the hotel went smoothly. There is currently no pedestrian access from the Custom House station, which is not an issue with the hotel itself. Just be aware if you plan to arrive by train.

Was super easy to find, beautifully location staff were extreamly friendly and helpful and rooms were lovely x air con worked but the heating didnt! Thank god for the duvets x the most surprising thing was we were right by the airport and the train but didnt hear a thing unles the window was open x

Friendly and helpful staff at check in. Welcome drink. Clean room, modern hotel. Good secure parking. Easy to get to O2. Late checkout after an amazing breakfast with lots of choice

Breakfast was horrible

I stayed at the Moxy for three nights, while attending the nearby convention. The entire stay, the staff were both incredibly friendly, and helpful, there's not a single thing I could so much as nit-pick about them. I only ate dinner once, at the hotel, but it was perfect. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of choices (cereals, fruits, yogurts (also a wide variety, greek, strawberry, plain, and potted options), granola bowls, a variety of milks, dispensers for orange and apple juice, water, and a coffee machine, chafer dishes with beans, scrambled egg, sausages, and bacon, pastries, bagels, plain sliced bread... Such a wide variety that I can imagine anyone would be happy. There was also a cooler with a selection of drinks that could be purchased throughout the day. The room itself was a corner room. It was quiet, comfortable, and very tidy. Housekeeping was incredibly helpful and kind, to have reset the room every day, and when I asked about where to get decaffeinated coffee I was given clear advice on how to get some. The beds were comfortable, the shower was perfect, the lighting was clear, the curtains can completely black-out the light (with an east-facing bedroom, when the sun was blaring directly in, closing the curtains made the room pitch-black), and the supply in the room was exactly all that could be needed (kettle with teas and coffees, a hairdryer with attachments, hand soap, conditioner, and shampoo). There was even an iron and board down the corridor.

First time had breakfast there but didn’t like the options for breakfast. Very limited and not much options. Me and my partner wasn’t happy with the breakfast options.

Book in was easy and room was fab, clean,comfortable and a good size Even though we were on a direct flight route by airport sound proofing was good What the hotel needs to improve is their bar Considering there is no other bar in immediate area they need to get it right... My husband beer was flat, twice and when asked to change or refund staff didn't seem too happy about it. .. we are not hard to please but that should be easy to get right
