We liked the room. The pool is very small. The pictures on site look way bigger. Both the pool and hot tub were cloudy and greenish. Coffee was a very strong brand, undrinkable for me.

I stayed at this hotel for my sister’s navy bootcamp graduation. It was only a few miles away, very convenient and there was a lot of outlets stores around, especially restaurants for late nite bites. Receptionists were really helpful with an early check in and a later check out! Loved the pool, and their free breakfast! They also offered a shuttle bus to the graduation!

convenient location if attending NAVY graduation.. about 5 miles, theres a shopping center , different choices for restaurants, walmart , gas station. its 1 mile away from the Lakehurst event center where the Sarge Meet and Greet is held the night before graduation. the staff are friendly and helpful. if you mention you are there for the graduation, they will give you insights about it. they also offer shuttle service to/from graduation. breakfast has many choices as well. overall, we are satisfied with our stay here

The suite was was roomy, clean and well cared for. The guest services was very good and accommodated need for extra towels, toilet paper etc. The breakfast buffet was very good and the room had adequate tables and seating. We also enjoyed the pool, hot tub and fitness room. Everyone was very polite and it was a great place to bring and honor our Navy graduate.

Enjoyed the free breakfast, the fitness room- but the pool was out of order 2/3 days that we were there, so we weren’t able to enjoy the hot tub like we thought we would’ve when booking.

We had stained matresses, sheets and pillow cases. Hair and eyelash found on bed. Stains on walls and garnage outseide of garbage can. It takes a lot for me to be disappointed, but i was definitely disappointed in the hotel as a whole. I will never go back. I have photos but apparently it wont allow me to upload. When i told the front desk they were just going to change the bedding. Lol i asked them to move us finally! Gross

Bedbugs and got bit several times. Took picture of one on pillow and front desk only offered to switch rooms and no discount. However, if I applied to the rewards program I could get credit for one night. Yes that was the front desks rebuttal to making them aware of the issue was.

I reserved a suite which was really a bust. I thought there would be two tv and there was not. Over by the beds, 2 queens, we were cramped. Too close to the window and half wall. I would not waste my money next time!

The front desk representative was incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating, setting the tone for a great stay. I booked online but was disappointed to find my double queen reservation didn't include a suite. However, the agent made a kind exception and upgraded us to a suite. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and we enjoyed the spa area and breakfast. I'll definitely return for our next staycation.

Room was spacious, converted to two by sliding pocket doors with comfortable king bed one side and bed settee the other. An older hotel that has been updated. Huge tv each end of room, but no mirror! Breakfast was very good, shame they are still using plastic plates and cutlery.

We came for our son's navy graduation and selected due to close location. The room was extremely warm, even with window cracked to few inches we were allowed. The bathroom faucet had to be held in place when turning on, very low water pressure in shower. USB ports did not work so we had to purchase charging blocks, however only a couple outlets actually worked. Good food nearby made it bearable.

Pros: The staff was very polite and addressed any issue presented. The food was nice. Pool and weight room were convenient. The location of hotel was convenient to all our traveling needs. Cons: The sheets were not clean or appear to be clean. After we asked for a replacement, the next comforter we received had a hole in it. The tall standing mirror in the bedroom was dirty. The walls in the hotel are super thin. You can hear full conversations of people in the hallways and other rooms.

My stay at this hotel for my son’s Naval graduation turned out to be such a blessing! Jill, Ann and Liz all were so helpful to me when the happy occasion turned into a nightmare when after the graduation my mom fell and fractured her hip. A 3 night stay turned i to over a week and the not knowing what I needed to do to take care of my mom at the hospital away from home and away from all our family was a real ordeal made easier by the comfort and care exhibited by the staff. Thank you for making a crazy time be less stressful for me and my mom!!

This hotel was new when I visited the first time during COVID-19 and I had no complaints, it was very clean and very quiet. This time 3 years later I decided to stay and being hopeful that cleanliness would not be an issue again. Sadly, I was wrong. I was moved into three different rooms. The first room the carpet was stained badly. The second room the nice woman at the front desk accompanied me to make sure it was a better room. Upon her leaving I realized the toilet wouldn’t flush. So, I received another room. The third room the bathtub was still dirty. At this point I asked for cleaning supplies but was told none was available because housekeeping had them; and that they weren’t available. I instead borrowed the Lysol wipes from the front desk and clean the tub the best way I could. Overall the hotel was quiet and the breakfast was average. The common areas was clean and mostly all the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

The staff wae nice, other than the night clerk. She seemed to hate her job and looked like everything was inconveniencing her. And... the power went out on the hotel for about 45 min to an hour... that was "fun".

The BEST thing about this property is Mr. Tyrone. We, like so many others, were here to see our sailor graduate, and Tyrone walked us through all of it, with tips and tricks, and the best customer service EVER. You deserve all of the chocolate bars, Tyrone!!

I stayed at this hotel for my sister’s navy bootcamp graduation. It was only a few miles away, very convenient and there was a lot of outlets stores around, especially restaurants for late nite bites. Receptionists were really helpful with an early check in and a later check out! Loved the pool, and their free breakfast! They also offered a shuttle bus to the graduation!

The property is located in a safe, quiet community. It’s near a few shopping centers and food spots. It is a bit away from Chicago and a few areas of interest. Just need to plan a head of time, especially if your attending the Navel Boot Camp Graduation ceremonies.

We liked the room. The pool is very small. The pictures on site look way bigger. Both the pool and hot tub were cloudy and greenish. Coffee was a very strong brand, undrinkable for me.

The breakfast is amazing, plentiful and great options! The beds and pillows are amazingly comfortable and and the shower was great, hot with good water pressure. Highly recommend, this is an incredible hotel for the price!

My daughters and I have no complaints whatsoever about our stay! We were pleasantly surprised that our room was clean and the beds were made when we returned to our room later in the day! Service was great, breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and cleanliness was satisfactory!

This hotel was absolutely amazing!! The staff was great as was the breakfast! Also, having daily houaekeeping was a great addition that you don't get a lot from hotels following COVID. All in all, a great stay!

Nice, clean hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The pool area was also well kept, and the pool was a decent temperature. The continental breakfast offered a few options, was restocked and kept clean. Would stay here again if in the area.

I booked the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago North-Waukegan-Gurnee while attending my son’s Navy graduation, and unfortunately, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. The experience started poorly at check-in. I arrived around 2:30 p.m. for a 3:00 p.m. check-in and completely understood that I was early. However, I stood at the front desk for nearly 10 minutes while Ann answered phones, handled paperwork, and spoke with a coworker without acknowledging me. I was eventually told my room wasn’t ready and then watched approximately 7–10 other guests arrive and check in while I waited. I finally received my room around 3:25 p.m. Unfortunately, the issues continued. On our second day, the TV stopped working. We had people in our room after 11 p.m. attempting to repair it, and it still wasn’t fixed. Another maintenance employee returned the following afternoon and spent about 45 minutes before finally getting it working. We also received an unexpected call from maintenance asking to enter our room to check the sink for a possible clog. Any one of these issues might have been minor, but collectively they made the stay feel disruptive and unpleasant. I chose this property partly because of an excellent experience at another IHG hotel in San Francisco. Unfortunately, this stay was the complete opposite. What should’ve been a happy visit turned into a disaster. We checked out, and stayed at IHG Evanston. The service was much better.
