Among the nicest properties in DeKalb. The employee at the desk when I arrived on the afternoon of 9/3 was unpleasant, distracted and unable to even fake a smile. The gym is well put together, though the water tank is consistently empty and of no apparent concern to the 9/4 morning front desk staff (two of them, evidently too busy with an empty lobby and vacant eating area to bother with this issue). I purchased water from them.

The property was close to NIU and was safe and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool was very small and had a funky smell that didn’t smell like chlorine or pool.

Check-in was at 3pm we showed up at 5pm and had to wait two hours for the room to be ready. The pool was closed and when we tried to ask a staff member when it might be opened up she tried to pretend not to speak English even though she said in clear English "I don\'t speak English." She didn\'t even have an accent!

Stayed here for easy close access to NIU convocation center for a cheer competition. Our room was ready when we arrived, parking was easy, plenty of food choices near by. Everything was clean. We didn’t make time for breakfast so I can’t comment on that. Bed was comfortable enough and everything in the room worked well. Seems the hotel is newer or recently had been renovated, everything looked and smelled new

Due to a death in my family I had to cancel this trip on Monday, 6/23. Expedia reached out on my behalf to talk to Hampton and explain the situation. Hampton refused to cancel my reservation with a refund. Very disappointing. The request was 24hrs prior to check in, but still within their no refund policy. Is sad they felt the immediate payment for a room they can now rebook was more important that a sustained relationship with a frequent traveler. Other items I needed to cancel did so immediately, with refund and their condolences.

The customer service was amazing , everyone was very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean , the rooms were clean and accommodating. The morning breakfast was awesome . Andre at the front desk deserve to be the face of the hotel . He was truly a pleasure to work with from start to finish . His customer service is what made me decide to stay at the Hampton vs the Home 2 hotel .

We had an amazing stay at the Hampton Inn. From the moment we walked in, Andrew greeted us with such warmth. He was hospitable, and made the check-in process very smooth. He was friendly and funny, and the whole duration of the stay he was very helpful and offered to help us with anything we needed. He made us feel right at home! This man is an asset. Give him a raise! He definitely deserves it.

Every single night the keys we had didn't work and we had to get new keys - very annoying. The biggest problem was that the breakfast was abysmal. They ran out of everything on a holiday weekend with a whole baseball team staying there. They should have planned better in advance on supplies. But the real problem was the breakfast staff who apparently came late, didn't get the food he had out on time and didn't stock simple things like mild for cereal. Though the front office staff was responsive and sympathetic, this visit was not up to Hampton Inn standards.

Our room was clean & it appeared to be newly renovated. The staff was very helpful & courteous. Loved the shower. The room was spacious. The only problem was at breakfast the hot food was empty. We were in a hurry to go but we did wait for some time & no one filled up the food area. It was about 9 AM. Plenty of time before they closed.

They need to honor your schedule and stop putting things away (including my plate as I waited for an item to cook). Front desk staff member was very helpful upon our check in.
