Déçue de l’hôtel, de son environnement, piscine qui donne directement sur le parking, la poussière est au rdv dans la chambre et également dans les parties communes, idem pour la moquette du couloir des chambres les miettes sont restées au sol 3 jours, literie de qualité,le personnel est très agréable, le petit déjeuner est sans plus, pas de jus d’orange naturel, le restaurant est correct, cela reste un bon rapport qualité prix

Atenção Quem quer que esteja a pensar ficar hospedado neste hotel, por favor não o faça! Qualquer ponto positivo que possa eventualmente existir, não supera todos os pontos negativos.Não existe staff, fizemos check in ao fim de largos minutos e foi o bar men que nos atendeu. Pequeno almoço muito fraco,só havia uma pessoa na área que fazia literalmente tudo: limpar mesas, reposição, cozinhava… uma moça por sinal muito simpática e que mesmo a lutar para conseguir manter alguma organização ( impossível) mantinha um sorriso e simpatia. Elevador avariado durante dias. Zona de spa e piscina sem supervisão alguma, não vimos ninguém do staff nestas zonas nos 4 dias que ficamos hospedados. Piscina e áreas circundantes muito sujas e sem manutenção. Dentro do banho turco o cheiro era muito mau. Ficamos numa suíte com boas áreas, no entanto o ar condicionado era insuficiente, dormimos de portas abertas. Não havia toalhas para todos. Ao segundo dia acabou o gel de duche o qual não foi mais reposto. Toalhas da piscina manchada de lixívia e rotas. Nódoas também de lixívia na carpete dos corredores. Podia continuar a descrever muito mais… resumindo: não existe manutenção. Nem sei como continua a funcionar já para não falar de estar qualificado como sendo um hotel de 5 estrelas….

Très bel hôtel. Les chambres avec vue sur les vignes sont magnifiques. Par contre, il manque de personnel et les employés ne communiquent pas vraiment entre eux. Nous avons achetés une demi pension (avec 2 repas inclus) mais ceux-ci nous ont été chargés. Nous avons dû le mentionner à chaque fois aux personnels, mais malgré tout, ils les ont ajoutés sur la facture. Heureusement, après discussion lors du check out, nous avons pu les retirer de la facture. Vérifier attentivement votre facture au départ si vous prenez la demie pension!!!!! De plus, personne nous a expliqué ce qui était inclus dans les repas « demi pension » et ils ne semblaient pas vraiment le savoir. Nous devions expliquer de nouveau notre forfait à chaque changement de personnel. Bref, c’était bien, mais jamais clair. Par contre, la piscine est très belle (même si petite pour le nombre de personnes) et le gym très complet pour un hôtel. La localisation de l’hôtel est également très bien pour visiter les vignobles (à 30 minutes de Peso da Régua et à 1h de Pinhão).

We enjoyed our stay here, and they arranged a wonderful day of wine tasting and a cooking class for us. The things we did not like, though, were that the gym in the basement was very warm, and also the outdoor pool was not open, even though it was quite hot out. The breakfast was nice. There is not much to do in the immediate area, so you would want to have a car, or a driver arranged for your time there. We did not use any of the spa services. They have bikes to use, but we did not inquire about where you would take them.

Service staff is nice but very slow. keep having to ask for items that should be standard in rooms of 5 star hotels eg room service menu, wine bottle opener, wine glasses which they never ended up bringing any even though I requested it 2 times. No robes or slippers in room. Spa fully booked for 3 days. I mean.. isn’t this a “wine and spa” hotel? Hotel is pretty and location is incredible but could do better at being clean. Elevators and elevator buttons are dirty, windows around property are dirty, gym equipment not cleaned (sweat marks and sticky equipment), they let many small children use the gym like a jungle gym when trying to work out, left dishes on tables, pool is nice but surrounding needs to be landscaped. Unfortunately not a true 5 star hotel but beautiful location and because hotel is new ish it still looks decent. Should be a 3.5 or 4 star based on amenities and service. Quite disappointing for the cost of it. Restaurant staff was nice and helpful. Just needs an overhaul in management.

NOT a 5 star hotel by a long shot but has a gorgeous view. Here are some findings from our stay: Parking has no elevator (drop your bags at reception before parking if you have large luggage). No robes/slippers provided (isn’t this standard in a 5 star hotel?!). You need a swim cap to use the indoor pool. There are no refreshment services at the outdoor pool. No do not disturb signs for the room door. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Offer no wine experiences (as per website) - don’t be fooled, they have none and no partnerships. You need to arrange them yourself and have to drive yourself everywhere (they are not located close to any) - considering they call themselves a wine and spa hotel … very disappointing! They are clearly understaffed so some bar staff you’ll also notice are plating your dinner too. Small and limited wine menu and very limited restaurant menu (items frequently run out). One-way doors to the balcony by the restaurant (we got locked out and had to knock on the window for another guest to let us back in). The restaurant staff are amazing, our waiter was so attentive and his english was excellent. So too was our check-in and check-out staff. All in all, wouldn’t stay here again. Definitely not a 5* as they advise, more like a 3*. Not bad but wouldn’t recommend.

Prior to arriving 8 emails were not answered. Phone calls went unanswered, on one occasion when the phone was answered it was after 25 attempts. Lack of staff. For a Spa - lack of spa staff - who whilst competent lacked a smile. Pool and pool area needs a clean. Room service menus very limited. Room service exceptionally slow. Al in all explains the lack of guests.

Check-in was seamless. They seat you and offer you welcome drinks. Parking is free with the options for valet or self-parking. We chose the rooms with terrace and views - this is the only way to go! The location’s amazing not to take advantage to wake up to the wonderful views. The facilities are great - i used the gym, indoor pool, sauna. There’s also an outdoor pool, good for a warm day. Shame we only stayed for 1 night, will definitely come back and stay longer.

Nice view, rooms are great but the services are not there. Probably under staffed and under trained teams, while super nice people, it was not the experience you expect at a 5 stars hotel. Also several area appear to be unfinished such as the outdoor pool, probably the worst.

NOT a 5 star hotel by a long shot but has a gorgeous view. Here are some findings from our stay: Parking has no elevator (drop your bags at reception before parking if you have large luggage). No robes/slippers provided (isn’t this standard in a 5 star hotel?!). You need a swim cap to use the indoor pool. There are no refreshment services at the outdoor pool. No do not disturb signs for the room door. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Offer no wine experiences (as per website) - don’t be fooled, they have none and no partnerships. You need to arrange them yourself and have to drive yourself everywhere (they are not located close to any) - considering they call themselves a wine and spa hotel … very disappointing! They are clearly understaffed so some bar staff you’ll also notice are plating your dinner too. Small and limited wine menu and very limited restaurant menu (items frequently run out). One-way doors to the balcony by the restaurant (we got locked out and had to knock on the window for another guest to let us back in). The restaurant staff are amazing, our waiter was so attentive and his english was excellent. So too was our check-in and check-out staff. All in all, wouldn’t stay here again. Definitely not a 5* as they advise, more like a 3*. Not bad but wouldn’t recommend.

Atenção Quem quer que esteja a pensar ficar hospedado neste hotel, por favor não o faça! Qualquer ponto positivo que possa eventualmente existir, não supera todos os pontos negativos.Não existe staff, fizemos check in ao fim de largos minutos e foi o bar men que nos atendeu. Pequeno almoço muito fraco,só havia uma pessoa na área que fazia literalmente tudo: limpar mesas, reposição, cozinhava… uma moça por sinal muito simpática e que mesmo a lutar para conseguir manter alguma organização ( impossível) mantinha um sorriso e simpatia. Elevador avariado durante dias. Zona de spa e piscina sem supervisão alguma, não vimos ninguém do staff nestas zonas nos 4 dias que ficamos hospedados. Piscina e áreas circundantes muito sujas e sem manutenção. Dentro do banho turco o cheiro era muito mau. Ficamos numa suíte com boas áreas, no entanto o ar condicionado era insuficiente, dormimos de portas abertas. Não havia toalhas para todos. Ao segundo dia acabou o gel de duche o qual não foi mais reposto. Toalhas da piscina manchada de lixívia e rotas. Nódoas também de lixívia na carpete dos corredores. Podia continuar a descrever muito mais… resumindo: não existe manutenção. Nem sei como continua a funcionar já para não falar de estar qualificado como sendo um hotel de 5 estrelas….

Très bel hôtel. Les chambres avec vue sur les vignes sont magnifiques. Par contre, il manque de personnel et les employés ne communiquent pas vraiment entre eux. Nous avons achetés une demi pension (avec 2 repas inclus) mais ceux-ci nous ont été chargés. Nous avons dû le mentionner à chaque fois aux personnels, mais malgré tout, ils les ont ajoutés sur la facture. Heureusement, après discussion lors du check out, nous avons pu les retirer de la facture. Vérifier attentivement votre facture au départ si vous prenez la demie pension!!!!! De plus, personne nous a expliqué ce qui était inclus dans les repas « demi pension » et ils ne semblaient pas vraiment le savoir. Nous devions expliquer de nouveau notre forfait à chaque changement de personnel. Bref, c’était bien, mais jamais clair. Par contre, la piscine est très belle (même si petite pour le nombre de personnes) et le gym très complet pour un hôtel. La localisation de l’hôtel est également très bien pour visiter les vignobles (à 30 minutes de Peso da Régua et à 1h de Pinhão).

Prior to arriving 8 emails were not answered. Phone calls went unanswered, on one occasion when the phone was answered it was after 25 attempts. Lack of staff. For a Spa - lack of spa staff - who whilst competent lacked a smile. Pool and pool area needs a clean. Room service menus very limited. Room service exceptionally slow. Al in all explains the lack of guests.

Service staff is nice but very slow. keep having to ask for items that should be standard in rooms of 5 star hotels eg room service menu, wine bottle opener, wine glasses which they never ended up bringing any even though I requested it 2 times. Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for a weekend getaway… so inconvenient to get to some of the winery for tastings, but make the best of it….

We enjoyed our stay here, and they arranged a wonderful day of wine tasting and a cooking class for us. The things we did not like, though, were that the gym in the basement was very warm, and also the outdoor pool was not open, even though it was quite hot out. The breakfast was nice. There is not much to do in the immediate area, so you would want to have a car, or a driver arranged for your time there. We did not use any of the spa services. They have bikes to use, but we did not inquire about where you would take them.

The restaurant menu is very limited. The hotel surely was away from everything else . The service at the restaurant was impeccable I must say . But it is a great get away from all the hustle and bustle . The drive up to the hotel was beautiful . Would recommend to drive during the daylight hours .

Déçue de l’hôtel, de son environnement, piscine qui donne directement sur le parking, la poussière est au rdv dans la chambre et également dans les parties communes, idem pour la moquette du couloir des chambres les miettes sont restées au sol 3 jours, literie de qualité,le personnel est très agréable, le petit déjeuner est sans plus, pas de jus d’orange naturel, le restaurant est correct, cela reste un bon rapport qualité prix

The restaurant staff are amazing, our waiter was so attentive and his english was excellent. So too was our check-in and check-out staff. All in all, wouldn’t stay here again. Definitely not a 5* as they advise, more like a 3*. Not bad but wouldn’t recommend.
NOT a 5 star hotel by a long shot but has a gorgeous view. Here are some findings from our stay: Parking has no elevator (drop your bags at reception before parking if you have large luggage). No robes/slippers provided (isn’t this standard in a 5 star hotel?!). You need a swim cap to use the indoor pool. There are no refreshment services at the outdoor pool. No do not disturb signs for the room door. No coffee or tea facilities in room. Offer no wine experiences (as per website) - don’t be fooled, they have none and no partnerships. You need to arrange them yourself and have to drive yourself everywhere (they are not located close to any) - considering they call themselves a wine and spa hotel … very disappointing! They are clearly understaffed so some bar staff you’ll also notice are plating your dinner too. Small and limited wine menu and very limited restaurant menu (items frequently run out). One-way doors to the balcony by the restaurant (we got locked out and had to knock on the window for another guest to let us back in). Beautiful and quiet location. Staff was excellent. Restaurant was delicious. A bit far from most wineries in Douro Valley but enjoyed the peace and quiet and stunning views.

Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for a weekend getaway… so inconvenient to get to some of the winery for tastings, but make the best of it….

Prior to arriving 8 emails were not answered. Phone calls went unanswered, on one occasion when the phone was answered it was after 25 attempts. Lack of staff. For a Spa - lack of spa staff - who whilst competent lacked a smile. Pool and pool area needs a clean. Room service menus very limited. Room service exceptionally slow. Al in all explains the lack of guests.

The restaurant menu is very limited. The hotel surely was away from everything else . The service at the restaurant was impeccable I must say . But it is a great get away from all the hustle and bustle . The drive up to the hotel was beautiful . Would recommend to drive during the daylight hours .

Do not understand the need to expose the bathroom space to the room. Travelling with friends means that there is no privacy after a shower to dry off and dress without having exposure to others in the room! Plus if other person is sleeping, the light from the washroom space is disturbing to others! WHY are hotels doing this???
