Great little Retro Motel near DTNPHX. Walking dist to Roosevelt Dist and local nightlife. Excellent and friendly staff. Unfortunately it was during the winter season so we didn't get to enjoy the pool and outside bar in full swing, but we dic enjoy the Fire pit.

Parking was difficult

One night stay, cool hotel hotel. Lot of rocker themed decor in room. Perfect for 1 night stay after a concert. The only issue was the parking. Paid for for parking, as I was going to be returning late from a concert. Returned to hotel around 1240am, and there was NOT a single parking space, in the reserved parking area, for hotel guests. The hotel does do events on the weekends, which is cool, but better control of the parking, situation for non hotel guests should be improved. Ended up parking on street and got a refund, for the parking fee. Lastly shower floor, needs to be cleaned better, there was blackish/grayish marks on the shower floor.

Live band played outside our Room. Had to pay for parking only one car allowed. The room was nice. Full refrigerator. Restaurant on site.

Great place to stay! There’s a restaurant, an outside bar and a swimming pool. The room decor is super cool! We paid for parking which was convenient for us and within walking distance to the Van Buren Theater. Thank you to Tonka and the entire staff for making us feel welcome, we look forward to our next stay.

The food was great!!!!! So good! The staff were amazing!!! The only thing is on weekends their lot gets full and it’s hard to find parking you paid for, also the floors aren’t the cleanest in the room & trash wasn’t picked up daily in our room :/ Overall good stay, close to downtown!

Nice room, very friendly staff. Didn't know it turns into a nightclub at weekends but that's fine. Very close to the Van Buren for gigs and has an excellent restaurant onsite. Only open for dinner but the food is superb. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed on a Wednesday/Thursday so the outdoor bar was closed. The pool is small, about 2 feet deep all around and surrounded by a cozy lounge area. On site restaurant is very good - wonderful food and wonderful service. Room is really cool and has a fun decorated vibe - guitar, 8-ball, full size fridge, microwave, etc. water pressure in the shower is weak unless turned up to the hottest setting, not great for AZ heat. Overall a pretty cool place to stay for a night.

Different but cool motel. Fun at night with their bar and pool area. Cool set-up. The floors in my room were tile and super filthy. Dont walk barefoot. It shows up when you get in yhe shower. The shower is white but black with dirt. Also, there is only a half door on the shower so i flooded the bathroom floor every time i.showered. they did bring me extra towels to wipe up the floor. 3 stars on cleanliness, 4.5 sstars on the property and stay itself.

This property was really cute with a modern vibe and a nice restaurant on site and a patio bar right outside your room door. However, the rooms, although colorful and fun could've been cleaner. There was grime in the shower and sink from the stay before us. The fridge, the little bluetooth speaker in the room and the floor was a bit dusty. The bed was pretty firm but the pillows were great. It was a cool vibe overall but needs some cleanliness.

Room was really nice and clean. You can get your coffee in the morning from the office and it’s freshly brewed. Great pastries too.

Our bed comforter had stains. Bathroom was gross to say the least. Wish I had taken pictures. The bacteria buildup in the shower and around was disturbing.

I like that ear plugs are provided as you can hear everything around you outside of the room. My room unfortunately was not clean. I found other people’s hair on the wall and makeup stains on the pillowcases, amongst other things. It is super convenient to walk to music venues downtown and reasonably priced. I would stay again but will most likely bring my own pillows and shower shoes.

Cool esthetics but one major problem, we had roaches. They were mainly in the bathroom and killed multiple in there but also woke up in the middle of the night to one crawling on my arm. Not the greatest experience which was a bummer because I really was looking forward to staying there.

Really cool and awesome themed hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. But the problem was the floor in the room was completely nasty, black feet dirty. I had to take a towel and clean the floors myself, It was so bad! As far as I could tell the rest of the room was clean and keep up well.

I loved the retro feel of the room. The "egg" chair was a highlight. The only downside was the bathroom. The shower was walk-in style and so water got all over the bathroom floor. And due to the small size no amount of opening the door or the little vent window would clear the steam (not necessarily a bad thing). The lounging pool, outside bar/lounge area, and little cafe were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and cute property. If you have an event at the Van Buren it’s super close and convenient. Only complaint is that the plumbing in my room kinda sucked.

This is a '50s era motor lodge that was revived with a hip retro-chic motif about 2 years ago. The downside of the property is the building itself. Noise travels easily through walls and floors. The rooms are small and not geared for business travelers. Outlets are scarce and none are on the nightstands. There is no desk or desk chair. Instead, you get a small kitchen table with two chairs that barely fits a laptop. At least Wi-Fi was OK. There is no iron or ironing board. They have a few steamers to share for the whole property. I finally got one, but it wasn't functional. Bathroom was small and had a deep janitor style sink. That may look chic but there is no shelf to put a toothbrush. Instead, there is a vanity-like are outside of the bathroom to place your toiletries. Women may bemoan that this area has no light to put on makeup. The room had a small (0.7 cu-ft) retro styled microwave that can barely fit a bag of popcorn and a huge (11 cu-ft) retro styled refrigerator. It could easily store several cases of beer, but signs tell you that outside alcohol cannot be brought on premises. The onsite restaurant has limited days and hours that I wasn't able to try. The public area outside the rooms has a bar (that wasn't open midweek), fire pit, extra seating and cornhole. Room was clean. The vinyl flooring was coming up and rug edges curled creating a minor trip hazard. This place seems to cater to a younger, non-business crowd.

The remodel of this hotel was done nicely. It’s very eclectic and fun. The fridge in the room is full size which is convenient. The room has all the things you would need - Apple TV, Outlets for chargers , microwave etc. The only issue I had was the mattress was very hard and not the most comfortable. But that’s because I don’t like firm beds.

Bed was like sleeping on plywood! Super noisy. TV only worked for streaming no TV channels. It’s a MOTEL not a hotel! Left a day early. Did NOT care for this place. Would NOT recommend it, no door on shower either.

the inside of the room is very aesthetically pleasing but that’s about it.The owner spent a lot of money on how it looks vs on what a comfortable stay will be and should probably stick to the bar scene instead of hospitality.The bed was very firm, the smart TV had to where I would have to sign in my own information which I couldn’t since my devices were capped. The shower had a see thru window which you could see from the bed. I stayed with my daughter and had to shower angled away from the window for privacy. The shower also doesn’t have a shower door so all the water was around the restroom floor and unlike most hotels this one doesn’t provide a shower mat. The restroom also had a plumbing/sewer smell. What I mean as well by spending too much on the looks is they had expensive stuff like a speaker which I would’ve thought a coffee maker would have been better. They have coffee at their restaurant which is expensive for one but they also only had butter milk for your coffee so I passed on that. The hotel also is not family friendly which I feel should be advertised. When we got there on Saturday I wanted to take advantage of the main area but I couldn’t because 1. It is a bar and 2. Reaked like weed. The pool is also not an actual pool it’s just a lounging area. It is extremely overpriced I paid close to $500 for 3 days for probably my worst hotel/motel stay. On top of that the hotel guests have to pay for PARKING $15 per night which is insane! It’s a cool bar but not hotel.

Nearly two hour delay for check-in. All that was offered in return was a glass of water. Offered free parking, but charged me anyway.

I picked this hotel because of it location to the event that we wanted to attend. It was a very nice place, Hotel staff were very pleasent. But we were there for 6 nights, we did put the sign out not to disturb the 1st 2 nights, but after that no one had entered our room to clean, ever!! Also the top bunk bed was too hard for anyone(Adults) to get into, So I slept on the couch for 6 nights, Then on Saturday and Sunday nights, they had events scheduled. I had no idea they were rock bands! Our room was 10 feet behind the speakers, we sat in our room for 4 and 5 hours with bass drums pounding our walls, I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown!! Please let people know the events are rocks concerts!!! Not little???"events" If I had known this, I most certainly would not have stayed here. They did offer ear plugs when we checked in, The earplugs did not even cut the noise in half and did not stop the walls from shaking! On a good note the free coffee in the mornings was excellent!

It’s expensive for the price and they are not business traveler friendly. Didn’t have cloths iron in room and I had to ask 4 times for a receipt and it took several days after checking out to get them to send one. Paid parking and the bunk beds are tiny. Only plus is proximity to downtown

A Nightmarish Experience I recently had the unfortunate experience of booking a room at the Egyptian Motor Hotel through Hotels.com, and it turned out to be a complete nightmare. Despite making a reservation through a reputable platform like Hotels.com, the hotel staff refused to honor my booking, leaving me stranded outside in the middle of the night. As a solo female traveler, this was not only distressing but also a safety concern. What shocked me even more was the complete lack of assistance or empathy from the hotel staff. They offered no alternatives, and I was left to fend for myself until daybreak. I understand that last-minute bookings can be challenging, but as a paying customer with a confirmed reservation, I expected better treatment and a more professional approach to the situation. This experience has left me deeply traumatized and anxious, and I would strongly advise fellow travelers to exercise caution when considering the Egyptian Motor Hotel. In summary, my stay at the Egyptian Motor Hotel was nothing short of a disaster, and I sincerely hope that they improve their customer service and communication to prevent others from going through what I experienced.

I loved the mid-century modern vibe. I was warned ahead of time about the loud music and parties on the weekends, and truthfully wasn’t bothered much by the noise. However, the parties happen in the courtyard, and since the room doors open right into the courtyard, being a single woman traveling alone surrounded by a large group of drunk strangers who could all watch exactly what room I walked into didn’t exactly make me feel safe. Otherwise, it was a convenient, affordable place to stay with a cool vibe.

Memorable, plenty going on and conveniently located on the edge of downtown. Plenty of character in the surrounding area with revitalization efforts and small businesses evident within walking distance.

Unique and funky. Great staff and location to downtown. Property felt safe. We were there when there wasn’t an event and it was quiet and a refreshing change from your usual motel blandness.

Loved the stay, I have no complaints. Hotel does charge you to park in their parking lot but I was aware before booking. Great atmosphere at night, that bar in the middle of the hotel yard was playing good music. Very conveniently located, walking distance from The Van Buren where I went to a concert at. Will definitely be staying here again for future events.

This was a lovely, solo getaway. Beautiful place to reset. Easy check-in. Clean room. Conveniently located. Restaurant, coffee shop, and bar on premises. Open parking for $15/night or street parking options. Lovely, decorative and inviting place to stay. Awesome and attentive staff!

We chose the property because of their location in the area. We needed to be close to a certain hospital and the price was good. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, although we were only there for an overnight stay. However, there was a lot of traffic noise. One thing that was unexpected was that we had to pay for parking in their lot. $15 was the charge. Parking on the street was free, but we felt our vehicle was safer (if not closer to our room) in the parking lot. Not a big deal, just unexpected.

So the location is good but there was no soap in the rooms to wash your hands or body, no coffee available in the morning unless you wanted to buy some, the bar was very expensive!!

Cool funky decor and mostly clean except for the fruit fly’s in the room that ruined any drink without a top. The check in person on Saturday was wonderful however the two other front desk people need more experience in hospitality. My keys deactivated and rather than an apology from the desk, I felt like I was being interrogated. I had to apologize to the desk person to get any kind of response. Both Sunday morning and Monday morning, they were out of sugar for coffee. At least Saturday they had “sugar free syrups” but by Monday not even those. With a McDonald’s across the street you would think someone could have at least run over and filled their pockets with sugar or maybe the property manager could have brought some from home when she came to walk the property with clients Monday morning. Coffee is a BASIC for hotels!

The gentleman working on the property was amazing, hard working, friendly and funny. The property itaelf was worth the stay. $4 coffee plus tax after 7am was extremely disappointing, especially since there was not available in the room. Breakfast availability was very limited and the neighborhood is not one to stroll around.

Loved our stay, the coffee was amazing, the bartender Kai was our absolute favorite and made the experience incredible.
