Property located in city centre with many restaurants within easy walking distance. Only negative is the small and slow elevator.

The room was great and large. The main issue is that there is no parking at the hotel and there is also no place to stop outside the hotel to take the luggage into the hotel. There is parking away away from the hotel however, this is a bit inconvenient when there is no place to stop to unload. We arrived on a Saturday night and any parking nearby was taken because there is a rooftop bar which had a long line of young adults, waiting to go upstairs, and all parking spots adjacent to the hotel were taken.

We arrived at the hotel at 5:15am after a red eye flight from Calif and check in wasn’t until 3pm. They secured our luggage and we were let up to the first floor where a quiet sitting area with water, coffee & tea was available. We actually fell asleep for 2 hours and got up to explore downtown Papeete. Downtown was dingy, worn down and had grown people sleeping on sidewalks. We didn’t feel unsafe, but walking around once was plenty. We returned to the hotel at 10am and were told our room was upgraded and we could check in at noon. We spent the next 2 hours in the Kon tiki coffee cafe and had a great lunch. Our upgraded room was a suite with small kitchen and view of the ocean. We ate dinner at the Kon Tiki Reeftop bar with wonderful views of Moorea and the sunset. The ferry terminal is right across the street, very easy to walk to with luggage. The Boutique Kon Tiki hotel was absolutely perfect for our one night stay before taking the ferry to Moorea.

Lots of people going to the Roof Top bar that are not staying at the hotel. Only one elevator.

Great place, great location (just in front of the ferry for Moorea) and awesome staff. They helped me booking a rental car and found me 35% OFF. One weekend night, it was a bit loud outside but it has to be expected since directly in Papeete. The noise wasn’t loud enough with the patio closed to keep us awake, we felt asleep easily. The roof bar is awesome, this hotel is one of the highlight in Papeete

Beautiful boutique hotel with only 1 elevator and on our departure it did not work and we walked with our luggage down 6 flights of stairs. We were put in room 607 directly below the kitchen and for 2 hours we could not sleep with banging and scraping as they cleaned up for the night. Suggest they do not put guests in that room. The hotel was very comfortable and with very kind staff and would have been great if we could have slept.

Nice hotel, very good restaurant, friendly, professional staff. BUT one small lift is woefully inadequate for a property of this size (especially since many people from outside the hotel use it to access the restaurant and “reef top” bar). On more than one occasion we gave up waiting for the lift and used the stairs, which of course is not possible with luggage. I’m sure that we aren’t the first people to comment about the lift!

From the moment we arrived from our cruise ship at 10:00 a.m.,The front desk agents were so attentive and helpful. We were lucky to get an early check-in at 12 noon. Our room was quite large and very comfortable. Everything was modern and clean. Electric shades, modern kitchen, excellent coffee maker and huge shower. The room was nicely decorated with the mural of a humpback whale behind behind our bed! So cool! The restaurant and the REEFTOP bar were beautifully decorated. The bar was open until 1:00 a.m. and they had a fun D.J. who was playing tunes with a live parrot on his shoulder. It was a nice place to go and listen to music and then just take the elevator right back down to our room. Perfect! There was a nice waiting room on the first floor for those of us who had late night flights.A great amenity was the ability to use a shower. The only thing I found uncomfortable was the lack of air conditioning in the lobby and in the hallways and on the first floor shower room. It was very, very hot. Keep in mind, the hotel does not have a pool and there are no beaches nearby. I found a public municipal swimming pool within walking distance which was awesome. I was able to exercise and lay out and get a little sun. Other than that everything was great! I would stay again and I would definitely recommend this place!

Staff very friendly. Bar and restaurant prices too high. Not all rooms have showers. Hotel has no pool. Coffee pot in the room was a plus.

The hotel has been renovated and is super CLEAN. We have stayed twice and hope to stay here again. The staff is wonderful. Very helpful indeed.

Clean room, staff was great.

Spotless, spacious room. Coffee maker ginds beans fresh for each cup!!! Large shower with a handheld spray. Yay. Rainhead too. Although the hotel could not promise early check in, i got my room about 3 hours ahead and waited in a delightful indoor/outdoor area one level up.

Clean convenient location modern rooms

Our studio room was spotless, quite spacious and well-decorated. All the furnishings seemed brand new.

The hotel is great, right in the center of town and across the street from the ferry terminal. The staff is unaccommodating and consistently just made things difficult. The property advertises that parking is available, but when we got there, they discouraged us from using the parking. Then when we finally got access, after a few days, we no longer needed it, but they continued to charge us for the parking. The top floors have a bar/restaurant which is popular on the weekends and makes the only elevator very inefficient during those peak times because swarms of people are trying to get to/fro the bar. One day they came to clean our room - made our bed, but there was no trash removed, or toilet paper replaced - we had no toilet paper at all. There were other little things that made it frustrating.

A used fork was left on the table when we checked in. Additionally, the body wash and shampoo bottles were empty.

The room is clean and spacious with a complete kitchen appliance. The check in was easy with professional staff.

Huge comfortable room, coffee maker was a bonus. Nice balcony looking back across the town to the water. Rooftop bar was a fantastic place to watch the sunset.

Excellent walkable location for the ferry terminal, cruise ship port and Papeete Market. The hotel is nice and the staff is extremely helpful. However, as others have mentioned, noise can be an issue. I checked and double checked to be sure we were getting a quiet room, and indeed we did not hear any of the nearby club noise BUT we were on the 6th floor and the restaurant is on the 7th so we heard a lot of the noise for several hours from chairs being scooted on the floor. I would recommend a room far from the bar noise but not on the the 6th floor below the restaurant. And for us Americans the tub with a handheld shower nozzle was ridiculous. If I stay again I will definitely be sure that the room has a shower rather than just the open bath tub.

This hotel in right across the street from the Ferry Port. Of course being at a port is not always the best neighborhood. It was ok but the hotel is very nice and we certainly did not feel unsafe even when just the girls went out together. The problem I had with the hotel was that the bathroom was very dark, painted all black and had two light bulbs in the center of the ceiling. It was impossible to put any makeup on in there. There was a full length mirror in the room but still not great light there either. The other issue I had was that there was a hair dryer in the bathroom but no plugs! There are a couple of plugs in the bedroom but not one near the mirror. The room was very big and had everything, Micro, fridge, stove, sink and more. It had multiple glass doors so there was no problem with any noise from the ferry. I think this is a great hotel, if you don't use makeup or have to style your hair with help of a hair dryer. They had nice a breakfast but the eggs and meats that should have been hot were not at all.

Large, clean room, great bead (firm yet comfortable) and pillows. A few things could be added to make it even nicer: a trash can in the bedroom (there is only one in the bathroom), some body lotion.

Friendly staff. Nicely designed modern rooms but not necessarily practical (bathroom light is too dim to apply make up); some rooms have fancy free standing tubs but a shower would be much More convenient

Grosse Zimmer mit Küchenzeile. Modern und neu. Aber im Bad gab es nur Badewanne - keine Dusche. Und Badewanne hatte kein Duschvorhang. Wer designed denn so was. Gute Lage & zentral.

Location is great. I could walk to the cruise port. The breakfast buffet is expensive so I opted for ala carte. The lights are a little difficult to operate. The design of the hotel is beautiful the function not so great.

Really spacious, modern clean room with kitchenette and ideal for picking up cruise ships - 5 mins walk. Double double glazing blocked out most of traffic noise and noise from adjacent nightclub. Only woken by a police siren.

We spent a total of 6 nights at the Kon Tiki before and after a cruise. On first arriving in the middle of the night there was a mix-up with our room category which the reception staff could not fix without the manager's approval. Instead of an ocean front room we were given a room at the back with a view over a container depot. This was not the fault of the hotel but Expedia who provided incorrect information about our booking. Upon speaking to the manager the following day we were moved to a very nice room with a view over the harbour. The manager was extremely helpful and rectified the problem promptly. On our return to the hotel following the cruise we were treated to a free buffet breakfast which we assume was by way of compensation for the mix-up. We ate almost all our meals either in the cafe on the ground floor or at the restaurant on the 7th floor. The cafe was delightful and provided high quality light meals and good coffee. We enjoyed nightly drinks on the terrace outside the restaurant and excellent food from the tapas menu. The restaurant manager was very charming and helpful. All hotel staff were excellent. The hotel is opposite the ferry terminal, and it is a short walk to the shipping terminal from where our cruise departed. The immediate vicinity of the hotel was a little underwhelming but we were able to walk to the market, a pharmacy and a supermarket. Any downside was more than compensated for by the excellent quality of the hotel and its convenience.

The property is located right across from the ferry building so road noise in the morning is significant. Check in was long as there was just one agent and we stood there sweating in the lobby waiting for him to finish up with a phone call for at least 20 minutes. By the time he was ready to help us, there were 5 or 6 groups waiting to check in. Due to this delay, the rooftop bar was closing within 30 minutes and so we were only up there for about 30 minutes before we were told to leave. The rooms are lovely with modern amenities and generous square footage. I don’t yet know about their breakfast. But I’m dubious.

Staff was very helpful. We had a major travel issue and they were willing to change are date. Great location.

Responsive front desk team and room was available an hour before check in. They offered to store our luggage and arranged for a cab to the airport next morning.

Wonderful service, clean room! Excellent location, most convenient for ferry travel. They are gracious with holding luggage if you are on a late flight and want to spend some time after check-out in town, luggage-free!

We stayed at the Kon Tiki Hotel in Tahiti and overall enjoyed our time there. The location is excellent — right across from the ferry terminal, which is extremely convenient. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the suite we booked was very spacious and included a kitchen, which made our stay very comfortable. However, one major downside was the extra charge for storing our luggage. Even though we stayed at the hotel multiple times during our trip — returning after visiting Bora Bora and Moorea — we were still charged a significant fee for leaving our bags there, which added up to over a hundred euros. This is something we have never encountered at other hotels around the world, especially when returning as repeat guests. It’s important for future guests to be aware of this policy, as it may come as a surprise. Apart from that, the stay was pleasant and the location hard to beat.

Incredible location if you’re taking a cruise or a ferry to Moorea. Literally across the street. The room was nice. The bed was excellent. The bathroom OK.

Great location if you are coming in a couple days early for a cruise. The docks ans ferry terminal is right across the street. Also, plenty of dining options nearby and the marketplace is just a few blocks away.

A boutique hotel in a location of Papeete that was a short walk to shopping, restaurants and the market. Rooms immaculate and beds very comfortable. Staff and service outstanding. Good variety of food offered. I would stay at this hotel again.

The nice guy at check in spoke pretty good English and clearly explained everything to us. Room is clean and nice with everything that we need. The ferry terminal is located right across the street, so we won't need a taxi to catch the ferry.

We booked to stay here the night before our cruise - the port is across the street so that is the only bonus - At the end of our cruise we reserved two more nights and paid thru the Hotel Kon Tiki website - on check in they wanted our credit card for payment - we paid almost $800.00 We ended up only staying the one night since the area around the hotel is not nice, smells like urine, lots of homeless people, loud bars and it is not a safe environment - lots of police presence - We checked out one night early (and understood we would not receive a refund - which is fine) so to be double charged and the hotel not refunding us is wrong and dishonest. This hotel is not nice, and staff is not honest - pay a bit more money and go to one of the resorts just outside of the main Pateete town. DO NOT STAY HERE - or if you do ONLY PAY CASH -

We stayed here 1 night after arriving to Tahiti late at night. Staff was friendly with getting us checked in & out. The main perk of this location was its proximity to the dock which is nice if you are taking a ferry to Moorea the next day, or want to stroll to the market in the morning before checkout. The main negative of this place is its proximity to a loud bar next door where locals drink & loiter around the area (even on a Monday night). This can be a little unnerving if you are checking in late at night like we did, but there is gated parking available nearby through the hotel if you pay ahead, and the streets are well lit in this area, so overall a good stay if you have a car/early ferry ride the next day & keep your guard up at night outside the hotel.

What a great find! Clean, modern, with wonderful beds, a fantastic restaurant and rooftop bar, all right next to the ferry terminal, and cruise port. It’s also within walking distance of most of the important sightseeing attractions like the Papeete market. This gem has it all!

This is just an average Hotel, it is well located particularly if you are about to board a cruise ship or get a ferry out of there. Our room was spacious and clean. Only had breakfast there on one day, the service?was slow the hot food was cool at beat and I had to ask for a steak knife to cut the toast.

Across the road from the Ferry terminal and 10 minute walk from the Cruise Ship terminal. Rooms modern, clean, large and with kitchenette. Only one room key card is issued which is difficult when two are sharing . Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of options for breakfast outside hotel as quite expensive. Roof top bar ( happy hour 4-5pm) excellent viewing for beautiful sunsets.

Great hotel in a good location. Walkable to activities and restaurants. However, we chose to eat at the hotels restaurants where we had incredible food.

check-in and out very smooth. Restaurant upstairs slightly overpriced. Service excellent. Enjoyed the two man band on rooftop the second night. Although no songs were in English the music was great and made you want to dance.

The rooftop bar should be avoided. Service problem blamed on language. I requested some parmesan for the pizza, and got a $10.00 charge slipped onto the bill. When I asked about it, the waitress blamed the charge on the cook, and so I asked the outside cook who quickly blamed it on the waitress. Downstairs restaurant, good experience.

across the road from the ferry which we used. 6 min walk to cruise terminal. fabulous restaurant on the top floor. Casual bar on top floor too panoramic views. Would have loved breakfast included with the price we payed per night. Travelling from Australia we seem to pay alot more.

Very helpful staff. Lovely room. Great rooftop bar and good restaurant. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed 3 times before, after and in between island visits. All of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and proficient. Pre-empted our taxi bookings for the airport. Had the Tahitian Home Double room, very spacious and quiet. Only problem was that we stayed on Sunday and Monday nights when the restaurant was closed, but the reef top bar was still open for happy hour and sunset.

We did not have mush of an Ocean view, but there was some water we could see... We were only 1 night, but we enjoyed the roof-top bar and the restaurant very much. One comment, it might be nice if the breakfast/lunch restaurant was a bit cooler...
