the best part of this property is its beach. From all the options at Boca Chica, this beach appears to be the cleanest, wide, walkable beach. We love the beach. The property also is clean and well kept. The local street area is somewhat rundown but we had no safety issues. We paid extra for a balcony facing the beach and a larger room and we were very happy that we did so. We asked the service to clean our room each day and that kept the bathroom smell down. The complementary breakfast was very good, and other meals can be cooked for a fee. The food was good. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

El hotel es muy bonito, la habitacion amplia y limpia. El personal muy amable, la picina se veia limpia. The staff was very friendly and acted quickly whenever I had any questions or needed help. They kept the property clean and tidy. The beach there was beautiful and they also kept that clean. I would recommend tourists to keep Hotel Zapata in mind if they want a beach vacation on a budget. Great value and I would definitely stay there again!

This nice small clean hotel had a smooth check-in and check-out. Staff was very friendly and welcoming especially Cesar the bartender who was always in a good spirit and I loved that the beach was right out back. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be returning.

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!The room was perfect, the treatment made me feel like a princess! I only have 3 suggestions: 1- to put a handle on the pool. 2- to have more "criollo" menu options. 3- to keep a good amount of Coke Zero available. The place felt like I was visiting my old relatives' house. So cozy, perfectly decorated and the cleanliness was impecable! I'll definitely stay there my next trip to DR.

The rooms were nice, a/c worked, nice bed and balcony, my only real complaint was the bathrooms smelled, im a plumber so i knew right away what it was, the sink had no p-trap on it to keep the sewer smell out,just a straight tube connection to the drain, i had to keep the door closed so i wouldn't smell it,just a little 5$ part would've made the room smell a lot better, other than that, the staff was great, very helpful, this is a small hotel i think only about 10 rooms, which was one of the reasons I picked it, Staff was very helpful anything you needed they made it happen, wifi was a little spotty but I wasn't glued to my phone when I was there so no big deal, lots of bars/restaurants close by and the water was great, would definitely recommend

Hotel location & premises are excellent. I stayed outside in room with view & 2nd floor, problem was the TV didn´t work the 3 days I was there, there was no Internet inside the room and had noise on room below, wooden floor, every night as of 3 am. My experience was terrible, and I am writing this to avoid anyone experiencing the same again. Recommend to advice guests on noise restrictions and revise all equipment before issuing any room.

The room was bad, ac wasn't working, owner's son was notified but he seems not to care so we had to spend the night without AC! Then we were moved to another room in the morning where the sink was broken and there was no water and nothing was done about it and we had to brush our teeth with my own bottle of water, the owner's son offered us a free meal like that was enough!! The stuff was amazing even the owner was nice but the hotel it's falling apart and needs lots of work. My friend asked for coffee and knowing the owner that there was coffee and all we were going through refused to give him coffee. Atleas the kitchen was very clean and organized but again that hotel need lots of work before it can be called HOTEL. It's sad such a great area very convenient right inside the beach and walking distance to everything.

After you book online when you arrive they're going to ask you for $100 dollar deposit, I didn't see anything in the listing that prepares you for this, air conditioning don't work very well the first room I had it didn't work at all had to switch rooms, bathrooms are old furniture is old and falling apart other than that it's a nice location,

Horrible stay. Receptionist was not friendly. Went there with my elderly mother and we were placed on the third floor. Sink had a leak, shower curtain was too short, so the water from the shower got everywhere. Outdated windows, you can hear eveyone talking and laughing in the pool area and street. Music was blasting in the neighborhood until late. There’s a dog that barked the whole night. My mother brush her teeth and got sick. We stayed in other hotels in the area and this did not happen. The water smelled and tasted horrible, I’m lucky I did not get sick. Regret staying here.

Very sad state of events. I really want to support the business, heck wanted to invest in the improvements of the hotel. The major issue is the staff asked for cash for many of the services that was advertised as included. Luckily, I no better but patrons be aware and kindly remind them of there policies. So disappointing 😞

The staff are very helpful and professional. Helping and providing good service to guests is their priority. Zapata may not be a five starts hotel but it has nothing to envy of a five star hotel. In short, I have been more than satisfied both times I have gone.

The room was really nice, the staff was also amazing and we were treated like family! Special thank you to Hansel, Alberto, and Marta for their hospitality. Will definitely be returning!

This nice small clean hotel had a smooth check-in and check-out. Staff was very friendly and welcoming especially Cesar the bartender who was always in a good spirit and I loved that the beach was right out back. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be returning.

Horrible stay. Receptionist was not friendly. Went there with my elderly mother and we were placed on the third floor. Sink had a leak, shower curtain was too short, so the water from the shower got everywhere. Outdated windows, you can hear eveyone talking and laughing in the pool area and street. Music was blasting in the neighborhood until late. There’s a dog that barked the whole night. My mother brush her teeth and got sick. We stayed in other hotels in the area and this did not happen. The water smelled and tasted horrible, I’m lucky I did not get sick. Regret staying here.

The hotel staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was very fresh. It's certainly walkable on the beach side, but on the busy street side watch out for motorcycles! The waters are gorgeous. The deluxe beach room's view was limited, but overall a good stay!

The Hotel was very cute just as seen on pictures, the staff is super friendly the hotel is very clean, it’s right on the beach which is great!! The area is safe for tourists and is walkable there’s a lot of shops and restaurants/bars. Also there’s a massage lady named Cleotilde she’s AMAZING!! Make sure you check out 10/10. Only thing I would say is the hotel needs a few updates and more comfortable beds. Overall very good stay! I would definitely come back.

the best part of this property is its beach. From all the options at Boca Chica, this beach appears to be the cleanest, wide, walkable beach. We love the beach. The property also is clean and well kept. The local street area is somewhat rundown but we had no safety issues. We paid extra for a balcony facing the beach and a larger room and we were very happy that we did so. We asked the service to clean our room each day and that kept the bathroom smell down. The complementary breakfast was very good, and other meals can be cooked for a fee. The food was good. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

El hotel es muy bonito, la habitacion amplia y limpia. El personal muy amable, la picina se veia limpia. La playa esta atras de la propiedad, durante el dia en los restaurantes esta lleno de gente, lamentablemente mucha basura en la arena. El area no es muy lindo. El hotel lo recomiento totalmente.

Very clean everything. Those girls work very hard. Everybody is friendly. Just ask them what you need, they'll help you. Stay away from people outside on the beach, if they tell you, they know a good fish restaurant. We paid $140 at Comideria Yahiyria (not even a restaurant) for 3 fish, chips and salad. Eat at the Hotel Restaurant. Lovely old lady is a good cook. I will visit and stay here again.

The staff at Zapata is amazing, day and night, the rooms are cleaned daily, breakfast is not special but fresh everyday. The only issue I had was with mosquitoes, so get your spray because they are not spraying, and it is mostly under the table at breakfast, so wear long pants for breakfast

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!The room was perfect, the treatment made me feel like a princess! I only have 3 suggestions: 1- to put a handle on the pool. 2- to have more "criollo" menu options. 3- to keep a good amount of Coke Zero available. The place felt like I was visiting my old relatives' house. So cozy, perfectly decorated and the cleanliness was impecable! I'll definitely stay there my next trip to DR.

J’ai pris une boisson et malgré le fait qu’il était indiqué 495 pesos sur le menu, l’employé m’a chargé 550 pesos. Accès facile à la plage et bel environnement aux alentours dans boca chica. Endroit qui ne vaut pas son prix.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel De Zapata in Boca Chica. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. A special thank you to Hansel, who was truly amazing. He seemed to do just about everything to make sure guests had a great experience. He was always friendly, professional, attentive, and willing to help with anything. His hard work and dedication really stood out and made my stay even better. The hotel is in a great location, right in front of Matica, one of Boca Chica's well-known attractions, and just steps from the beach. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy everything the area has to offer. The restaurant was another highlight. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal was fresh and satisfying. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay with outstanding service, I highly recommend Hotel De Zapata. I look forward to staying there again on my next visit to the Dominican Republic.

Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Second time staying here. The property is spotless, the showers are hot, and the location is absolutely unbeatable. The beach is super clean. If you want a home feeling this is the place. Very relaxing... will definitely return.
