This is a very unique property - a chateau built on the front of a cave. Talk about wine storage! The property has incredible potential, the chateau has remarkable old details that will be restored and the new owners are working hard to bring it up to 4-star status. When it's completed, it will be stunning.

Oddly the one place we stayed at for only one day night was the most memorable of our trip. The staff was friendly helpful and checked us in a bit early. But we were allowed to walk the ground and use the kayak’s and hang out at the pool. It was well just relaxing and beautiful and the owner was great

Room was wonderful and in the top two floors in one of the turrets. It was two stories with the bedroom being on the top floor with wonderful birds eye views of the grounds. Like being in a tree house and both floors were deocrated with modern touches but still keeping the integrity of the original building. Bathroom on first floor was incredible with a nice big soaking tub. The hosts were exceptional and provided a nice tour of the grounds. The grounds themselves were amazing. The best pool I've ever seen, access to a river for kayaking, plenty of places to walk the property including caverns hidden up the hill behind the chateau which was like stepping back in history.

Unique small castle with charming rooms in a very peaceful setting. Our room was large, comfy bed, large soaking tub and separate shower with a great view from third floor. The pool and walking paths on the property are great. I enjoy birdwatching so it was perfect. Also greatly enjoyed sitting on the patio at night and looking at stars. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Fabulous! The most gracious and helpful Host (owner) and staff. The grounds were outstanding and kayaks & Bicycles were free to use as well. Quiet retreat and close to Amboise to enjoy the town, castle tours, food as well as to meet with the many tours that are available!

The Chateau is beautiful and has such potential to be fabulous. In fairness we were there during off season, but we do see the need to update the bedrooms. The decor and furnishings are showing wear. The Chateau manager, Sarah, was the sweetest and worked so hard to ensure our stay was pleasurable. Sarah's service and just the pure fact that we were staying in a Chateau, helped us overlook the minor condition of the rooms. Would we stay here again? In a heartbeat!

The staff, especially Oliver, was very helpful in assisting for our local activities. And meeting the owner, and him sharing the vision of restoring the beautiful chateau makes me definitely wanna get back there in the future. Room was very clean as well, and simply walking throughout made me appreciate the place even more

It's worth the splurge to get the experience of staying in a castle. Service was provided mostly by Asma, and he was awesome! Made us feel very comfortable, and he definitely enhanced the experience (made us feel like royalty). The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Nice quiet location, but still close to Amboise and the various castles and wineries.

Loved our stay. Staff was wonderful and ever accommodating. Property is a lovely Chateau from the 1700s but very beautifully modernized. Large rooms. Convenient to all the tourist sites in the Loire. Amazing

Our experience with this stay was our favorite. The proprietor was so nice, very willing and happy to share his love of the place and how much he loved making the property sustainable. We would stay there again for sure. Our one regret was that we only stayed one night. Oliviiet helped us get a reservation at a beautiful restaurant near the chateau and kept in touch with us to make sure we got there. A truly lovely man and gentleman. Dorothy and Carroll from Michigan.

What an amazing place to stay! The limestone, rhe chateau itself, everyyhing is wonderful. The host, Olivier, was very helpful with excellent recommendations for dining and for activities. Would highly recommend the Chateau if you are near Amboise!

It's worth the splurge to get the experience of staying in a castle. Service was provided mostly by Asma, and he was awesome! Made us feel very comfortable, and he definitely enhanced the experience (made us feel like royalty). The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Nice quiet location, but still close to Amboise and the various castles and wineries.

Fabulous! The most gracious and helpful Host (owner) and staff. The grounds were outstanding and kayaks & Bicycles were free to use as well. Quiet retreat and close to Amboise to enjoy the town, castle tours, food as well as to meet with the many tours that are available!

This property and stay for 3 nights was just amazing from the time we arrived till our departure the staff and owner were friendly and helpful. Although this property is a short drive into town I would highly recommend staying here

Loved our stay. Staff was wonderful and ever accommodating. Property is a lovely Chateau from the 1700s but very beautifully modernized. Large rooms. Convenient to all the tourist sites in the Loire. Amazing

Excellent location for exploring Ambois and The surrounding countryside . The chateau was everything we expected and more. The host and staff were very welcoming and Helpful. Looking forward to visiting again when the new suites built into the hillside are completed .

The staff and service were outstanding! Sarah gave us excellent dinner recommendations and even made the reservations for us. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and very convenient. I highly recommend!

Fascinating place, especially the new rooms inside the cave, they were spectacular! One of the most unique places we have stayed. The main chateau is also wonderful, with a very fresh breakfast and large grounds to walk. Not far by car from Amboise, a great spot for chateau touring. Very uncomfortable check in initially - with a service dog - the owner got quite angry that we did not tell him ahead of time, and we worried we’d lose our reservation. He didn’t care it was a service animal (which by law have special privileges in France, just like the US). Once he calmed down, he was quite delightful and we enjoyed the stay. The dog was allowed off leash all throughout the grounds. It just gave us a sour taste for the welcome. Otherwise it was wonderful and we’d consider staying again.

It's a beautiful chateau that dates back to the 16th century (at least). At one point owned and designed by one of Haussman's architects, the brick and stone facade is classic. You could get lost in the gardens (that's a good thing!) and they are thoughtfully landscaped and beautiful. We enjoyed our one night stay very much, grateful for the little elevator that took us up to our room on the 3rd floor. The room decor was clean and elegant, we had a tub, the bathroom was very clean, the bed was so good I slept for an unheard of 8 hours! Breakfast was delicious: excellent coffee, perfect soft boiled egg, still warm baguette and very fresh croissant. Fruit juice was so good. Honey and jams from the property. Public rooms and our room were highlighted by very nice original prints by well known modern French artists. The staff members were warm, polite, and welcoming. We hope to return.
