Great location, friendly staff, clean room, impeccable vibes, fantastic restaurant, coffee shop. We loved it all.

Staff were kind helpful and professional. The facilities were clean and modern. The shower in the room was fantastic as well as the outside hot tub, dry and wet saunas. Great place to stay in Galway

Had an incredible stay at The Dean! The entire place has such a beautiful ambiance and vibe, and the rooms are absolutely stunning. The on-site gym is next level - honestly the best hotel gym we’ve ever experienced. Staff were fantastic throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Great location for visiting Galway. Parking was a bit of a nuisance but guess that may be typical for most city centre hotels. Roof top restaurant was very good and convenient on a rainy and windy evening.

A really fantastic experience. The hotel is very modern with some incredible facilities and in a great location just 5 mins from Eyre Square. The gym is as good as a gym I've ever seen in a hotel. The staff there couldn't have been more helpful. Then the heated outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and plunge pools really set the place ahead of most other hotels. Really clean and convenient. The room was very small but had everything needed; a very comfortable bed, great shower and TV. It's quite like a modern hotel room in New York or even Tokyo; small but modern. I'll be massively recommending the hotel to everyone thinking of going to Galway and definitely will be back. Other hotels could learn a lot from the Dean's approach!

Overall a great stay at the Dean in Galway. It was very close to shop street and all the other main attractions you’d want to check out while in the city. Unfortunately the closest parking lot is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel at a public parking garage, but the hotel does offer a discounted day rate. The gym is very large and modern compared to most hotels in Ireland which was great. The only other thing worth mentioning was at our initial check in the front desk worker made a point to tell us that if we would like our room cleaned, to make sure we put the sign on the handle “to be cleaned”, otherwise they won’t know to go in to the room or not. She even went into detail stating that if you just want towels you can always come up to the front desk and we can give you some if you don’t want the room cleaned. After our first night we went out for the day and made a point to not put the “to be cleaned” sign on our door as we had all our important stuff left out in the room including passports/ cameras, computers. When we came back to the hotel room that evening, the towels in the room had been changed in the bathroom to fresh ones but the room had not been cleaned otherwise…. We were very disappointed in the miscommunication as we are usually travellers who would leave the do not disturb sign on the door when we don’t want someone coming in our room, but chose not to as they specifically stated someone would only come in if we left the sign on the door to be cleaned.

This hotel was the highlight of the trip. Not only did it have a cool gym with sleds, cardio machine, TRX, and more but it also had a fabulous spa. They had a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fully equipped showers with Dyson hair dryers. Very swanky hotel, Expedia pics don’t do it justice. The rooftop bar was also a great plus. Definitely would stay here again and will recommend to friends.

Great hotel to stay for a trip into Galway. They have plenty of amenities, but the parking is a little bit of a challenge. You’ll enjoy your stay.

The hotel has a lot of amenities. The one problem is the parking situation parking in Galway is difficult and you have to park in a lot which is expensive every night.

The Dean was a great spot to stay. Really convenient to the city parking (which they validate for a cheaper rate), downtown shops/restaurants, and the ferry. The room was very clean and comfortable. We didn’t have time to check out the pool or gym, but they looked awesome

I stayed before a few times and the place has gone down hill. Rooms were not cleaned for our two nights stay- we were 3 pals there for golf weekend. No robes in the room. Car park no longer available, and the breakfast took an eternity to get served- like 40 mins. Wont be back

Unfortunately we had a blocked bathroom sink issue . It was blocked and would not drain . After several attempts to phone to reception … no answer so I went down to reception.I had to wait in our room for a member of staff to arrive with all the equipment to unblock it … which indicates it is a common problem in the Dean Galway. This is unacceptable and no apology was given by the hotel staff even we checked out! We did not find this at the Cork Dean hotel . I think there is a lack of management of the young but well meaning inexperienced staff at Galway Dean . As we stay each year in a Dean Ireland We were dissapointed. I

Hotel was quite noisy and water backup was apparent, in the shower and in the toilet. Rooms are small and shower never got hot, only warm.

Very efficient check in. Nice room but NO storage - just a rail. Shower door too small so flooded the bathroom floor. Exceptional servicing of room - reset room each day as if we weren’t there. Didn’t need to ring down for anything. Bar staff need training - in speed and basic bar work - no ice or lemon in G&T in fact not even two glasses the same.

Rooms were spotless ,beds really comfortable large shower and easy to use ,loads of facilities in the hotel staff couldn't do enough for you very polite, friendly definitely will be returning to The Dean galway and only a five minute walk to square really enjoyed our stay

Staff was friendly upon check-in & knowledgeable about the area. Smallest room ever with a bathroom that was probably larger than the bedroom.

The Dean is just fine - it’s well situated so those who enjoy a stroll can do so into the Galway city center with ease. The car park is about 1/3 mile away at a public car park but the price is just 12 euros a night and our car was safe and undisturbed. The hotel is trying to be very cool, but it does so at the risk of some common sense - we would have have used one shelf, or a wardrobe, or even more than three hangers on a rail in the room. All this would have been fine if it weren’t for the fact that this was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our 14 day trip through Ireland - it was a splurge and we stayed at some really nice spots where we got a bit more for our money.

Our room was nice and the bed was comfortable but there was so much street noise and wing whistling through the window that it wouldn’t be any noisier if we were down on the street. The food in both restaurants was very good but the service was average. Two couples walked out of dinner service while we were there because no one served them.

Our room was very close to the jacuzzi we were woken every morning at 7.30am by the noisy users scrapping chairs talking loud and just being anniying

Good overall hotel but no wardrobes in rooms

This was a great stay in Galway. The king bed was two singles pushed together, so you couldn’t sleep in the middle due to a big crack, which was quite uncomfortable. Breakfast had great options & I loved the coffee in the room.

Room was nice but small. All shelf space was covered in mini bar and hotel stuff which made it difficult to unpack bags and settle in. Fridge was full of bar stuff too. Please make space for guests. Bed had a sinkhole in the middle. Very strange.

The Dean is located about 5 minutes walking from Eyre Square in Galway. This is a main area where you can catch a bus or train. The area is safe but there is not much around for shopping. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the details, decorations, and style is very bougie but some of it is more beautiful than functional. The shower for instance looks nice but the door is not flush with the opening and the floor got soaked anytime we showered. Our king bed was two twin beds and the middle was obvious. The bedframe itself wasnt great either and the marble side tables looked nice but were too big for the space and I found myself hitting them when I was in bed. The staff of the hotel were nice but I feel as if the hotel looks nice but is somewhat impractical.

While property is new and has cool design, the rooms are super small and you can hear your neighbors in the other rooms. The service was not consistent, especially a restaurant for breakfast, where one young waitress was not friendly and kept running pass our table with no eye contact and acknowledgment she heard us. When I stopped her to ask for something she was: yeah I know. Very weird, didn’t go back to eat breakfast again or anything else in the hotel. Left a negative of impression of service on us. Luckily Galway is awesome town and we found plenty of great restaurants to enjoy!

The Dean is a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant, Sophie’s, with views of the city of Galway. The hotel staff was very informative and helpful. It was an excellent place to stay. I highly recommend it to others traveling to Galway.

The staff on duty for our first two nights were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. We stayed 10/23 & 10/24. We enjoyed it so much that we cut our stay in Dublin short to come back for another night. When we returned on 10/27 the front staff wasn’t as friendly or accommodating. The first two nights the staff told us about robs and slippers for the pool. They showed up to our room within minutes of requesting. When we requested on the 27th they never showed up. The pool staff were amazing all 3 nights. The only other thing I’d have to say is the parking…. It’s an uphill walk and absolutely sucks with 3 suitcases. Definitely see about dropping your luggage off prior to parking!! The outdoor pool was definitely the highlight! The convenience of being able to walk downtown to everything was great. We will be back! Oh one last thing. The crew on the morning of 10/23 deserve a shoutout! We had a redeye flight and arrived to the hotel @7am. They had a room available and let us check in!! Even though check in wasn’t until 3pm. No issues at all. That was huge!

The Dean Galway…If I could give 6 stars, I would! From the moment we arrived, the front desk was truly delightful. The baristas? Absolutely adorable. Sophie’s was fantastic, gorgeous view, perfect arancini, great wine list, and service that made us feel special. The rooms are stunning, and that shower… IYKYK. We didn’t have time to enjoy the beautiful spa area, but trust me, book it, work out, take a dip in the hot tub/pool (whatever they want to call it). It’s lovely. Bottom line: stop scrolling, stop searching. This is the place to stay in Galway.

Staff should be trained to advise guests on known parking issues and direct them accordingly. We arrived after dark and did not notice the parking restrictions across from the hotel. When I was checking in I specifically told the front desk where I parked and she was cavalier about saying that I would have to move the car before 830 am. The car tire was clamped that morning and the staff was unaware of how to help us although they were kind and tried. It was a very unpleasant experience where if they had procedures on how to advise or rectify parking issues it would have helped all of us.

This would have been a slam dunk 5* review, but after forgetting something in our room on check out 'Baseball Hat'- we tried to contact the hotel but Emails sent into a black hole, no one got back to us and it was extremely disappointing. I wish the service was better because the rest of the place was exceptional.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was professional, welcoming and very friendly. We encountered Erica, David and one other staff member (with the heavy metal band vest). The room was great, very clean, though a bit on the warm side. The only negative was the fitness room below us, when the group fitness instructor started shouting "Let's Go!" at 7am. We would love to return; the staff was amazing, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend The Dean to anyone visiting Galway!!

Stylish, Central, and Comfortable — but Skip Breakfast I recently stayed at The Dean Galway and overall had a very good experience. The hotel feels modern and stylish, with a fresh design that doesn’t rely on the usual “old building equals charm” approach. It genuinely feels like a new, well-maintained property. The rooms are compact—comparable to what you’d find in New York—but well designed and comfortable. That said, noise can be an issue. I’m not sure if it’s due to thin walls or room proximity, but I definitely heard more from neighboring rooms than I would’ve liked. The biggest letdown was breakfast. On both mornings, service was extremely slow—30 minutes just to get a coffee. The menu is short (maybe 5–6 items), so it was frustrating to wait that long. I understand morning rushes can be busy, but the delay seemed excessive. On a more positive note, the evening bar service was great—fast, friendly, and well run. So clearly, the hotel staff knows how to handle crowds—just not in the morning. Bottom line: The Dean is a great pick for travelers looking for a well-designed, modern stay in a central location. Just consider grabbing your morning coffee elsewhere.

We waited 40 minutes for some Granola which made us late for all our appointments during the day!! The Avocado Mash was out of a packet and the poached eggs were rock hard. For such a new hotel we were disappointed. I have stayed at The Dean in Dublin and the service was way better.

Great modern hotel walking distance from the bus/train station and from the green. Also not a bad walk to the main area of Galway's pubs, restaurants and shopping. Rooms are nice and staff are welcoming and helpful. Our second stay at this property - we like it a lot!

A simple modern new hotel with limited public spaces. Nice rooms in an area about a 15 minute walk from central Galway sites.

Great hotel and wonderful location

Everything was wonderful! Fabulous hotel 2 blocks from the city center with delicious restaurants, a lovely spa/gym, and excellent guest service.

10 minutes walk to town & services. Great location. Friendly staff. Hip & artsy vibe.

Loved the access to the city. Loved the funky room. Loved the price. Loved the facilities - pool and gym. Most of all, loved to going up to Sophie’s rooftop bar for breakfast, late lunch and dinner. Absolutely our fave spot in the city!

The Dean was one of my favorite hotels on my trip. The bed was so comfortable. The decor was very modern and everything was very clean. The cocktails at the rooftop restaurant were so delicious as was the charcuterie board. My husband and I also had breakfast the next morning at the rooftop restaurant. Unfortunately the breakfast is very overpriced and my eggs Benedict was served cold. Other than this the hotel itself is absolutely stunning, a perfect location, and the staff is very attentive and friendly.

Overall, The Dean was a lovely hotel to stay at. We were very impressed with our room and the general "vibe" of the hotel. We enjoyed a light dinner and drink in the Elephant Castle bar and breakfast was okay up at Sophie's rooftop bar (although a bit expensive).
