@Sandton Hotel

This hotel has a nice restaurant and bar. They have an atm, small grocery store, spa, and downstairs there’s a barber and nail salon. It’s in the upscale area of Johannesburg (Sandton). Everyone was so nice. The best customer service everywhere.

The hotel was good. The pool was freezing which was disappointing but otherwise we had a great short stay.

There was no soap in the bathroom. No tea, coffee, milk in the room. No towels in the gym. The treadmills were broken. room service never came.

The hotel is quite huge and benefit from all necessary equipments and services. Spa, Restaurant, Pool, Room service. There is also a free secured parking. This is like a small city but people are nice and we had good experience.

Not the first time staying there, Great Hotel, good location, multiples restaurants on site. Thomas at the concierge is the BEST :)

It was an exceptional stay! My mum and I did just over two weeks here and felt like a part of the family of staff by the end of it. The hotel is clean (VERY!), very close to Nelson Mandela Sq which we walked to on several occasions. They have a shuttle that goes on the hour, every hour too! There’s a shopping mall just next door which was so convient. The views are EXCEPTIONAL day, night and in-between. The only thing that was an issue was the strong smell of sewage due which lasted a few days.

Modern room. Friendly staff. Good service. Shop, laundry service and hairdresser on-site in secure area.

Stayed for two nights. The room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Shuttle was not available to pick us up at the Gautrain station unfortunately so we had to cross the street and catch an Uber to the hotel. We used the shuttle to go to Nelson Mandela square the next day. Check-in was quick and our room was available even though we were early which was amazing after a long flight. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options and friendly service. The clubhouse restaurant was also fantastic with friendly service and poolside seating. Finally, the meat pies from the Deli were perfect for a quick and inexpensive lunch. There are a few things that could be improved: Firstly, signage within the hotel is almost non-existent so finding the Deli or Clubhouse/pool entrance is very difficult. More signs are needed. Second, outside seating is not available in the courtyard area. A few tables and chairs would be good for guests who want to be outside. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Only issue is insufficient elevator capacity which causes extensive stress and delays entering or leaving hotel.

Hotel was great and had friendly staff. My only issue was that they placed a wet toilet paper role in the bathroom. I can only assume the toilet paper was dropped in the toilet water and instead of replacing it left a half wet toilet role in the bathroom.

Clean hotel with spacious rooms and super friendly staff. One drawback is the sewage smell that is present in the hotel especially the higher you go. It’s worse on the 21st floor. Needs some major reconstruction to fix the smell.

I was horrified when i was woken up at 7am by the noise from next door. We were placed, next door to house keeping and there were ladies SCREAMING and talking to each other. They were also bamging things so loudly. I reported it to the receptionist and notjinf was done about it for hours! I was forced to just get up and get out the room because it was so awful. The bathroom, also had disgusting stains, underneath the seat part. It was the worst experience

Bathroom cleanliness not good. Shower not good. Rating of 5 star without the experience.

The staff are wonderful and the property is super clean

I arrived before 0700 and the supervisor on duty was kind enough to allow early check in with no charge. I had the studio which was very clean. Breakfast was also excellent. I’ve already booked my next stay.

It’s very cosmopolitan and modern but my room had roaches, as time progressed it got more obvious. At the bar restaurant, I ordered a veggie burger and they passed off a potato pancake between two buns as such, when I alerted them to that, I was still charged, at the coffee bar the attendant tried to keep my cash after I decided to pay with a card, and another insisted I pay for her to get cake. I was scammed into a bogus tour and had to fight and get Expedia involved to get a refund. At my arrival home I discovered 200 dollars was pilfered from my suitcase. It had to be at the hotel. Yet there were examples of good customer service in general and the hotel is commodious. Of course I wouldn’t return.

The hotel was okay. I had to spend an hour to be checked in because the rooms were not ready. House keeping staff are noisy on the corridor. The was a party on our floor in the early hours of Saturday morning. I had to call reception because I couldn’t sleep.

Phone didn't work at times. Front desk didn't pickup at times and when you then had to go down to communicate an issue, most times they would seem offended until guest relations had to attempt to help and even that had its inconsistencies. Night shift seemed genuinely interested in helping out. Shower didn't drain properly, room had to be changed twice to get good drain. Very old couch. They didn't really seem too surprised and maintenance said half the rooms where like that. Chairs in pool area dusty so couldn't wait there during cleaning, you'd have to wait in an already crowded lobby. Dryer in room didn't work, maintenance confirmed that's how it worked. Housekeeping would forget stuff sometimes and when I tried to remind them of missing items or a missing area that wasn't cleaned, like the toilet or missing towels, it would almost seem like one was being overbearing. Even though housekeeping head seemed apologetic, sometimes cleaner would seem offended. Had to write the list of items on a paper and stick on door before I got consistent service. Restaurant waitress told a lie and didn't deliver an order that was paid. 3 out of the 5 times I ordered burger at night, bun was wet. When I complained in the morning to their head, first time she sounded like I was bothering her, second time, different person sounded better. No standards. It was a very stressful stay. I tried to give them a chance every week but overall was a very stressful stay. Never again.

The room we were given was on the 9th floor. We ask for another room higher up & they upgraded us with no extra cost. The room was beautiful with a wraparound balcony on the 19th floor. Need less to say we were very satisfied with our accommodation plus the staff were very friendly & accommodating. Will definitely revisit this hotel establishments.

The property was nice. The rooms are a great size with in suite washer and dryers. The staff very friendly and helpful. They also supplied transportation.

I found the staff to be welcoming and polite. However, I was surprised by the 330 rand limit on dining, which wasn't mentioned during booking. Additionally, the shower design caused water to spill onto the passage floor, which was inconvenient. Clearer communication about dining costs and improvements to the shower design would enhance the experience.

The hotel was very beautiful. I stayed in the junior suite which aslo had amazing views of the city at night and in the morning.

The room was comfortable and was pleased with that. I did not receive the best customer service at the club house or management. Service needs to improve.

I’m so disappointed at the way a gentleman called Claude(he was wearing a brown blazer ) at reception spoke to me . I’m still not fine with his tone while speaking to me. If I was a client and I was at fault , he should have express my fault.

What made this hotel remarkable was the staff - from the moment I walked in I was treated well, and the staff went out of their way to find me the best room I needed. In addition, the room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. I very big well done Sandton Hotel. I can’t wait to stay here again.

I have to say thay thia hotel was excellent! The staff was very helpful! A big shoutout to Xolani for his professionalism and his willingness to help. The hotel is located in a very safe area.

Great location

There is a market place with food shop. Market place, and few shops next door. Mandela Square Mall is 10 minute walk away.

Sandton hotel is in the Sandton suburb of Johannesburg. The hotel is pretty and feels very safe. They have shopping and business options in and connected to the hotel. If you need anything it is probably closer than you think. Also ask about the different types of rooms for a better fit for your needs. I will stay there again when I return to Johannesburg. I loved the tub even though it was a challenge to get in because I am short..The only con was when I showed the water leaked between the tiles and on to the floor.

The Sandton was very clean and nicely fragranced throughout the hotel and the staff was friendly. Great shopping areas were in close proximity.

I liked the safety and accessibility.

The location was great. Not too far from Sandton Center. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is modern in every aspect. No issues with our stay.

Property looks good but the food and the service are terrible.

Airport shuttle is outstanding. All staff very helpful and very friendly. Breakfast buffet outstanding! Limited menu for lunch and dinner and service was unusually slow at the bar area adjacent to the pool. I would definitely return.

The hotel is very modern. The room is very comfortable and the housekeeping staff does a great job with their cleaning. The Hotel has a shuttle service that takes you to Nelson Mandela Square with no charges and we have enjoyed a shuttle to the airport early morning with a charge, which is secure and convenient. Our only complaint was the food at the restaurant that is lousy; however, the cook came out to apologize for salty and over seasoned food. Overall, this is a great place to stay. The staff is really friendly and willing to accommodate you with any requests you may have.

Fabulous stay, to end my 3 weeks South African tour. The room large, windows expansive view of the pool. Separate toilet room. Breakfast and dinner option was a plus. The Club house was a relaxed

Loved the property as well as the options. Had the opportunity to stay in different suites and the studios were excellent. The were kitted fantastically with washing machines and microwave as well as a balcony. Services were a bit mid with your experience dependent on the staff you interacted with. It needs a service manual urgently. The breakfast options were quite limited and boring especially if you're staying for long. The meals are also not labelled so you have to check all the pots.
