We enjoyed our stay at this property and were shocked by how affordable it was. The room was comfortable and we had a nice view of the mountains out our window. The reception staff were extremely kind and welcoming! The resort itself was mainly closed, as the pool and hot tubs were all closed for maintenance and both restaurants on the property were closed until further notice. While that was disappointing, we couldn't complain for the cost we paid for the room. They did offer complementary breakfast in the morning still, and there were little cakes and coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the room. It is walkable to the downtown area where we were able to enjoy a nice dinner. If you're looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay without resort amenities, I would highly recommend here!

Clean hotel, quick checkout. Would add a lot of value if the pool and restaurant were opened, but overall for the price it’s a great stay! Room was tidy, was a good size, had a little fridge etc. would definitely stay again.

Access to viewing area when eating breakfast blocked with building materials. When feedback given to manager I was told that’s why the room is cheap. We really enjoyed our stay. Rooms had everything we needed and were spotlessly clean. Great base for exploring the area. Includes a Continental Breakfast which was delicious and the Gentlemen that oversaw Breakfast was so friendly and lovely! Excellent value for money. We will definitely be back.

Under new management who were superb. Friendly helpful and interacted with us. The bed was Uber comfortable, one of the best I’ve slept in. Reasonably priced. Spotless. Lovely fire going which was regularly topped up. Convenient. Really enjoyed our stay.

Just a bit shabby for the money. Few power outlets in the cramped room. One didn’t work. Tea and coffee sachets did not get re stocked. I just got the feeling nobody cares. I felt sorry for them as I left. It was pricey too. I found a better option nearby.

We only stayed one night and found our room adequate for this. The bed was comfortable but only having 3 pillows between 2 of us was a bit mean, the added benefit of having a bath was great for me. The shower was a bit weak but ok.The breakfast was nice but not the coffee !,The location was great for a visit to the hot pools and a walk into town. Overall we would recommend Methven Resort.

I was looking forward to a girls weekend away. Unfortunately the accommodation was a total let down. Out dated. The water out of the water cooler tasted like mold. I was told my room would be ready by 1.00 but it wasn't i wasnt so bothered. But the second lady i talked to had a sarcastic attitude un helpful manner. ( really makes a difference if you a greeted with a joyful reception) Cleaning staff were fantastic and more helpful than the front desk. Tv was minimal. Didn't bother with the free breakfast could leave fast enough to be fair. Probably wont come back.

Proximity to the Mt Hutt ski area was key, but the best part was the attention and assistance provided numerous times for different reasons - nothing was too much trouble. The food from the restaurant was also superb - delicious, generous, and well presented. Staff was always smiling, pleasant, and ready to assist wherever possible - so helpful especially when travelling with children. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Methven Resort if you are in the area. We will definitely be back.
