The shared bathrooms are co-ed open locker room style, not individually lockable bathrooms like a hostel or other shared spaces I've stayed in. So if you're not comfortable with that kind of arrangement, do not stay here. The parking is also gated and you're not guaranteed a spot. Coming back during the day I had to park at public lots some distance away, even though there were spots available in front of the hotel.

Don't arrive at night, maze to get in. Nothing's marked easily. They don't make it apparent there is shared bathroom like a hostel. If you want to change rooms, good luck using your debit or visa card (no tap, then they double charged my debit card). No TVs in the rooms which are the size of closets. Stench all down the hallway, where the walls are super thin and people like to hang out in the halls all night to talk. When issues arise, I was told nothing could happen until tomorrow. Parking lot is not secure. Window AC units if your lucky to get an AC room. Have a nice view of my car..... A cheap motel would 1000x better then this place. Never left a bad review before but what an awful experience for a hotel which looked so great....online. I was in town for business, finally had a night away from the kids and then yeah what an absolute let down from calling to getting into a "room".

The buffet food is not excellent but good for its price. During my stay, the small gym on the second floor was not fully operational (one of the two treadmills was not working). The hotel did not have shampoo (apparently, they ran out of it in their inventory, but this is something they should have planned ahead of time). The staff members were not flexible at all for early check-in or late check-out, which was very surprising given that the rooms were small and could be cleaned in perhaps less than half an hour.

The hotel is very clean and in a beautiful location. The problems I have with our stay was that it had no air, no tv no phone and shared bathroom &shared showers. Check in was ok but she did not explain things very well. Also parking was very limited and when we came in at 10;30 no availability. Had to walk 1/4 mile back to hotel (at 80 yrs). Just not a happy stay. Would not go back.

Great stay , perfect for getting away from everyday life ! Quiet, peaceful, no TV , simple room , It’s not the ritz. It’s a basic dorm style hotel . It’s about the land around the hotel. A island ,wild life sanctuary , the lake and river , art exhibit, ice cream shop , lovely cafe and gift shop , the views , peaceful, bike and boats for rent , transportation across river to Lachine , free breakfast or meal plan option , restaurant next door ( make reservations, we never could get in , always short staffed it seemed). Also a great swimming pool ! Rooms again are dorm style, most only have bed or beds and a sink ! Majority washrooms and shower down the hall. I would recommend bring a house coat or coverup!

Die Herberge war sauber, auch die Gemeinschaftstoiletten und - duschen. Leider haben die Zimmer keine Klimaanlage und es war echt heiß. Mein Zimmer hat auch einen nicht definierbaren intensiven Geruch (Reinigungsmittel, Bleiche?) gehabt. Das Frühstück war jedoch richtig klasse mit Omelette-Station für das Ei nach Wunsch!

Arrived for check in and the room was not cleaned. The previous persons trash was still in the room. The desk was covered in dead insects. The room smelled. The bed did not have sheets, or pillow cases. When I asked for sheets, they said all they had left were comforters.

This is a former convent masquerading as a hotel. The room i was given was 8 feet by 10 feet. There was no telephone or television and a small bed that was only big enough for 1 person. It was a Saturday night and they had a wedding going on and at 10:00 pm it became a live band who performed until midnight. Just try sleeping through that. All in all this location should not be treated as an hotel.

The grounds are beautiful, restaurant great, breakfast buffet good, staff excellent. But rooms were too small -- make sure you read the description before booking. Shared showers and bathrooms (men and women) -- they have separate stalls, but lots of bugs in these areas. Many rooms were lacking A/C. They gave us wrong room to start, then moved us to far end of the hall, making a long walk for bathroom facilities. No TVs in room and we barely had room for our two suitcases. From start to finish, we had some problems, including giving us room keys that didn't work, so it took us about an hour to get working keys and the correct room. Showers weren't working properly. Handicapped bathroom near reception had a non-working sink and, although it seemed to have a locking door, it didn't lock. We left a day early as it was just not conducive to a comfortable stay.

not for everybody. lots of rules and a lack of on site amenities. no room television, no mini fridge. no cold drink vending machine on premise despite the lack luster vending machine . staff not very friendly on day or night shift. would not recommend

It’s a charming old place in need of some TLC… air conditioning is to come summer 2024 (it was insanely hot in our second floor room), the tub needed to be reglazed (big patch in the middle) but the water pressure was great, and a TV in the room would be a nice addition. Great pillows but need better quality linens/blankets. Breakfast included but not very healthy. Good value and fascinating history… and the only place to stay in Chateauguay. Quiet with a lovely view of the lake. Friendly staff. I would stay there again. Lots of potential…

This property has no washroom inside the room. There are common washrooms and common toilets. It is very uncomfortable to stay without washroom, it looks like you are staying in dorme. Also no eating place around. I have to drive 25 KMs for food

This very affordable place is at a fair distance from Montreal but away from the concrete jungle out there. It's very quiet, clean, and surrounded by nature and its wilderness. If you're not looking for the luxury and amenities of a 4-star hotel, this place is for you. Mental hygiene and a spiritual retreat at its best.

Très bon emplacement pour la marche et les sports nautiques comme le SUP. Nous avons fait le tour de l’île St-Bernard pour une distance de 8 km. Aucune mise à l’eau sur l’île cependant. Les chambres sont petites et sans air climatisé. Nous avions une salle de bain privée dans la chambre, car plusieurs chambres avec salles de bains communes seulement. Beaucoup de moustiques. Les déjeuners sont excellents.
