Beautiful well kept property. Unfortunately the beach was covered with seaweed or sargassum which made it impossible to swim or enjoy the beach. This is not the fault of the hotel as they offered transportation to another beach. Unless you have a car, you need to take taxis which are very expensive. Overall, rooms and property are excellent but expect to have to leave the property for other activities.

Good afternoon, To whom it may concern, When first arrived at the property there was no one to greet me. The first desk attendant seemed disengaged. He was not rude but he was not pleasant either. The first room I was given was dirty and had mold throughout. There was a large construction project happening during my stay. Once my room was changed I did not have hot water for two days. One of those days there was no water at all. They reported that there was a water main break to the whole property. The A/C unit in the living room never worked. I reported and they never came to fix it. The showers had soap scum on them and the mirrors were extremely dirty. The entire property was unkept and needs a massive overhaul. Only on restaurant was open and there is not many choices of restaurants off the property. Taxi service is extremely expensive. I had to pay more in taxi fees than what my meal would cost once I was taken to a restaurant. This was my worst travel experience in my whole life and I travel often. Your company rates this hotel as an 4.4 star resort and it is not. I will be writing to corporate to see what can be done. I arranged this trip for my significant others birthday. This was an epic failure. I can’t express enough how disappointed I am for booking this trip based off of the recommendations I received from your website. I will never book through this site again if Orbitz does not make this rite. Extremely disappointed, unsatisfied, frustrated, and heartbroken

Upgraded to a spacious suite on check-in, which was fantastic. I would highly recommend the suites with the plunge pools, which seem to have laundry as well. Gorgeous beach, plenty of pools. The downsides are: we were only here one night, and one of the main restaurants was closed, so we chose the other, and the food was not very good. None of the advertised extras like welcome drink or bottles of water were provided. And the 10am check-out time, despite having arranged for a 1pm checkout upon reception, was a surprise! Overall, happy we chose this place, but a few areas under-delivered.

Property is well maintained. Staff is friendly and will to help. Only complaint would be the maintainence of the private pool. Our pool did not have the filtration system running during our stay. When asked, the reception said it wasnt functional. However the morning of our departure the system was running.

For det meste veldig bra. Diger resort med flere restauranter og en liten dagligvarebutikk. Hadde stort rom med terrasse og et lite svømmebasseng, veldig bra. Hadde også et boblebad, men det var det bare regnvann i - og det var skittent. Bør fjernes eller funke. Veldig bra service (klart best av de fire hotellene jeg bodde på), masse bassenger både for barn og voksne. Deilig med voksenbasseng & det er digert! Flott strand, men mye bølger så ikke helt perfekt strand for svømming. Her var det imidlertid best service på hele anlegget, rakk ikke å bli tørst. Det er stort og litt forvirrende dag en, men blir absolutt vurdert om jeg kommer tilbake. Jeg bodde her de siste fire nettene av 20 på Barbados, det var perfekt. Var faktisk ikke utenfor porten😁

The Crane is an amazing property! The grounds are lush with trees, plants, and flowers. The accommodations are stunning, I felt like I was in my own home rather than a hotel. The employees are warm, friendly and polite- much appreciated. Crane beach itself is gorgeous and the swimming pools are top notch. Food and drinks are excellent. Please do not hesitate to book a trip here, it’s a stunner of a place on many different levels! I stayed at the end of September and it was not busy which for me added to the peace and relaxation of being there. They say “ you’ll know” when you stay there, it’s true - you will. 100% recommend! Thank you for an awesome, beautiful, comfortable, relaxing stay. See you again!!

Joan at check in was fabulous; then it went slowly downhill from there. The Crane has all the potential to be great again, but right now, it just doesn’t have that Wow factor. The Reception area is not at all welcoming…a few old blue cushioned chairs and sofas scattered about. The rooms are spacious but have no character or charm. They need a little Caribbean flare to brighten them up…paintings, plants, shells, local artisan handicrafts, anything!! The sitting areas are boring and plain and so are the restaurants. The food was good but served in a lackluster environment. None of the elevators worked, the railings leading to the beach are chipped and worn, and the place overall looks old and neglected. The best thing going is the view. A word to the owner…give this old charmer the TLC it deserves. The minimal cost to make this crusty gem shine again would be well worth it.

Good standard of accommodation for Barbados and value for money in the 5 star category. Pleasant staff makes all the difference too. A lot closed down in the run up to the start of “the season” as ever present construction underway at the Crane (didn’t distrurb otherwise) and some restaurants onsite closed.

The facilities are great, however the fact that the sargassum has been a factor for quite some time now makes it misleading to advertise that the property is right on the beach. There was NO beach access (and had not been for quite some time) due to the seaweed. Guests had to be transported to a different beach (approximately 45 minutes away) to experience beach. The shuttle for the beach is only offered 3 out of 7 days a week (T, W, Th).

Second time staying here. We had a roof top pool, which had dead skin and debris floating in it. No hot water the first day and night. The food is expensive and not worth the cost. Some of the public pools were also dirty and unusable. It was the same way the first time we stayed for 1 night. Thought it was just but timing but obviously not.

My stay was great, good food lovely staff and amenities, however the private pool we book in our suit was dirty and had a mud like coating to the bottom of the pool. I made three request to have it cleaned but no staff came. Another request was a honeymoon package we booked and didnt receive it. After several attempts to query with front desk we gave up all attempts of asking.

Had to change my room 4 times. The first room the air didn't work. They moved us to a second room it was an upgraded pool suite. The following day we come back from an excursion we are locked out. An accused of avoiding their attempts to reach us. Then we were move to the third location open wires hanging out of the socket, throw up residue in sink. Chipped paint on toilet an shower scum. We moved to our fourth room they compted 75 dollars and gave us two bottles of wine. This room had plumbing issues the toilets didnt flush. By this point i was tied, i didn't even get the plunger i requested and had to beg for face towels. They turned paradise into hell.

À l'arrivée, notre chambre n'était pas prête mais nous avons tout de même reçu un service hors pairs de la part de Lajai. La chambre était d'un style vieillot mais quand même belle et propre. La piscine aurait besoin de plus de soins à mon avis. Tout le personnel était gentil, attentionné et disponible. Plusieurs petits restaurants et quelques boutiques sur place. La plage était très bien, c'était tranquille. En général, ma famille et moi avons bien apprécié notre expérience au Crane. Le transport se fait très bien en autobus de la ville... environ 3$ US pour aller à l'aéroport ou en ville pour magasiner... Il y a un arrêt d'autobus à proximité de l'hotel. Les gens sont vraiment très gentils!

Room included a private garden with a pool. It is not really private as the two upper floors have windows looking down into the garden. The private pool was dirty (with mold) - did not dare enter the water. The same for the small circular "whirlpool" - the water was filthy and there was no on/off switch for the water jets (thus it was not the advertised spa). The garden is a joke. Found immediately two beer bottles on a shelf in the private garden (splattered with dry white paint). Inside the room was OK - clearly worn with old furniture but somewhat spacious. The kitchen and bedroom were clean. The ~10-hour (nightly) serenade from the whistling frogs was not a problem (just close the doors and windows). The breakfast buffet was overpriced (BB$78 per person ~US$46 per person which is typical for Hilton). The food was adequate (edible but not tasty). Upon check out received the folio (receipt) with my wrong address and wrong room number. I called (from a new hotel) to fix the folio but was giving the run around (the hotel sent me to the front office, the front office sent me to "central reservations," and central reservations sent me back to the hotel). The problem was not fixed. I went to the grocery store and bought for for the next few days (at another similar hotel). I read before booking the reception staff were slow, preoccupied (with conversations and their smartphones), and generally indifferent. This is true but did not bother me.

Upon check out received the folio (receipt) with my wrong address and wrong room number. I called (from a new hotel) to fix the folio but was giving the run around (the hotel sent me to the front office, the front office sent me to "central reservations," and central reservations sent me back to the hotel). The problem was not fixed. I went to the grocery store and bought for for the next few days (at another similar hotel). I read before booking the reception staff were slow, preoccupied (with conversations and their smartphones), and generally indifferent. This is true but did not bother me.

The Crane was beautiful and I would've loved to have given it 5 stars but for the 3 nights we were there, we took ice cold showers for 2 nights. We reported it and the next day we got a message that the engineering team had fixed it but it was just as cold as before. It was never fixed. I've stayed in less nicer hotels and I've always taken hot showers. Disappointed!

Upgraded to a spacious suite on check-in, which was fantastic. I would highly recommend the suites with the plunge pools, which seem to have laundry as well. Gorgeous beach, plenty of pools. The downsides are: we were only here one night, and one of the main restaurants was closed, so we chose the other, and the food was not very good. None of the advertised extras like welcome drink or bottles of water were provided. And the 10am check-out time, despite having arranged for a 1pm checkout upon reception, was a surprise! Overall, happy we chose this place, but a few areas under-delivered.

Nice quiet resort away from the party side of Barbados like 30 mins away. But a nice resort clean everyone was very helpful rooms nice and spacious.My room had a private pool clean also nice full kitchen washer and dryer in my room. Great resort on the quieter side of the island While resort older rooms beautifully appointed and large. We stayed in a one bedroom with pool oceanview it was spectacular. Due to time in year late October we lost the sun in our pool around 1 pm so retreated to the larger pools fur the afternoon. Coming back in may 2026

We arrived at 1pm and were treated rudely as checkin is at 4pm. Instead of telling us they could hold our luggage and all the things we could do while waiting we got nothing. Additionally we later found out a welcome rum punch was customary and we were not offered that either. We came back at 4pm and our room was still not ready. Eventually we were allowed to checkin after waiting over 3hrs and it was after 4pm. We tried to book dining while waiting to checkin and nothing was available at any of the restaurants. Towel sheds had no towels. Overall the resort is very beautiful and historic but the customer service was horrible at the welcome.

Good afternoon, To whom it may concern, When first arrived at the property there was no one to greet me. The first desk attendant seemed disengaged. He was not rude but he was not pleasant either. The first room I was given was dirty and had mold throughout. There was a large construction project happening during my stay. Once my room was changed I did not have hot water for two days. One of those days there was no water at all. They reported that there was a water main break to the whole property. The A/C unit in the living room never worked. I reported and they never came to fix it. The showers had soap scum on them and the mirrors were extremely dirty. The entire property was unkept and needs a massive overhaul. Only on restaurant was open and there is not many choices of restaurants off the property. Taxi service is extremely expensive. I had to pay more in taxi fees than what my meal would cost once I was taken to a restaurant. This was my worst travel experience in my whole life and I travel often. Your company rates this hotel as an 4.4 star resort and it is not. I will be writing to corporate to see what can be done. I arranged this trip for my significant others birthday. This was an epic failure. I can’t express enough how disappointed I am for booking this trip based off of the recommendations I received from your website. I will never book through this site again if Orbitz does not make this rite. Extremely disappointed, unsatisfied, frustrated, and heartbroken

The attitude of some of the front desk team. I arrived the previous day and was told to call for buggy service ahead of time and because of my intending time I wanted to leave security would assist. The morning of my departure I called ahead at 7:00 am to arrange a buggy to collect my suitcases and bring to the front desk for 07:45, only to be told in the most abrupt and rude manner, no staff are available until 8:00 - I can call our security team and see if their WANT to do it! What a poor example of customer service from a major hotel chain. I was not afforded an apology.

This is not the fault of the hotel as they offered transportation to another beach. Unless you have a car, you need to take taxis which are very expensive. Overall, rooms and property are excellent but expect to have to leave the property for other activities.

Absolutely loved my stay! My room was exactly like the pictures however if you are looking to be close to night life and do not have a rental (you will need one if you’re looking to not spend $100 per ride) then staying near the south side or west is your best bet!

The property is magnificent, full of old world charm and amazing scenery. The staff were all on point and very friendly, going out of their way to be helpful. The hotel grounds are well kept and tastefully landscaped. The lobby could use a refresh in keeping with the hotel aesthetic but by no means an eye sore. The hotel is very near the airport 15 minutes with little to no traffic and a very pleasant drive along the coast or on the easy highways to wards Bridgetown. It is worth the money, I will return.

While the potential of this property seems huge, the quality of service in the restaurants and the massively overpriced food killed it for us. Also, a general feeling that everything was dirty (and it was!) made us not want to touch anything. Ugh. When we called to ask about the spa at just before 5pm, we were told they were closed. The operator said she would get answers to our questions and call back in the morning. How proactive, right? She never called back. We waited over an hour at lunch to get two salads that cost over 80 USD. Dinner at the Italian place was crazy expensive for what it was, and the service was also questionable. Table was dirty/sticky. After walking around the room for just 30 minutes, I had to thow away a pair of white socks from the dirt.

The room was brilliant, staff and breakfast. However the food the contry place at the crane, the peas and rice were awful like microwave food with no flavour, the only downside of the meal: this needs to sorted out. Otherwise great staff.

The Crane was very beautiful, and a great place to stay. But the prices for the food is audacious, so ensure that you bring food to cook inside your suite.

The hotel was in a good location for what was needed, and was ok. The bed was extremely high and I’m 6’2’ and had to take a jump to get on it. The staff on arrival were not very friendly or helpful but there were a large number of staff who were fantastic .

The rooms were clean and spacious with awesome views. The staff were friendly and helpful however they need to improve the check in experience and did not get any rooms keys as the machine was out of operation.
